A bottle of Jack, a Churchill length cigar, a torch and/or zippo lighter, a classic Game Boy with Tetris in it, and a pocket full of bass picks. That's what I want buried with me
Outside my hometown, here in VA, there's a man who was buried standing up. He wanted to look over the fame he worked and lived on and for. He's on top of a hill, which you can see his tomb?, from the road. It's said he was put to rest with a shotgun and a fifth of whiskey... Not sure what brand. The trees and brush have been cleared, so that it looks like a large wedge down the hillside, with his grave at the peak. He's been up there on that hill for decades. Maybe getting buried with your favorite booze, is more common than you'd first think!
The distillery makes their own sugar maple charcoal, you can buy whiskey in Moore County at the Distillery only, so if you visit the famous distillery you can by a bottle there. When they make their sugar maple charcoal they use distilled alcohol in its purest form to start the fire in order to produce the charcoal, so they don't get the petroleum taste. A bottle of Sinatra depending where you buy it is around 200.00. But yall did a good job for most part.
Dec 2018- I took the tour of the JD distillery. According to the tour guide, Jack Daniel ran away from home when he was 7 years old... very cool tour!! Highly recommend. You can also buy bottles in their gift shop.
You guys should do better research. Nathan Nearest Green, Uncle Nearest around Lynchburg, made to whiskey. Because there are no pics of Nearest Green, the man sitting to the right of Jack in his official photo is George Green, Nearest Green's son. Nearest is mentioned almost 50 times in Jack Daniels official biography. Nearest Green was the 1st black master distiller in the US
Reggie, a sincere thank you for passing on this knowledge, and inspiring me to become better versed with this history. I should know this by now! Can’t wait to share with my pops!
Also Jack Daniel's cannot be classified as bourbon due to going through a charcoal filtering process prior to being barreled. It isn't that they want to, they plain can't.
Other things they got wrong the distillery can sell you Jack the catch is it has to be shipped to an address outside of the county. The distillery was registered in 1866 thus making it the oldest distillery in the USA not 1875 like they said. and while Jack did win gold in 1904 they also won in 1905, 1913, 1914, 1915 , 1954, and 1981!
I took the tour of the Jack Daniels distillery last summer. They are now allowed to sell whiskey on the premises. I don’t know about in the rest of the county
Anthony Blue your really just mad the truth is out 💯 do your research there are many things that black people created in this country not just whisky 🥃
I as an India National, was fortunate to have got an opportunity to visit the Jack Danial factory at Lynchburg TN in 2018. Bought two bottles from the factory. Lynchburg county though dry, one could buy the whisky from the factory.
There is a company that worked with descendents of the slave and the have recreated his original recipe. It's now available for purchase and called Uncle Nearest.
@@jamesdeshotel949 Yeah, it's a little wink wink, nod nod. It used to be you could only buy one souvenir bottle. But a few years ago they lifted that restriction.
The sugar maple charcoal mellowing (filtering) is one of the things that sets Jack Daniel’s apart from Kentucky Bourbon. That and the fact that it’s made in Tennessee and sourced from the local limestone cave spring water.
I've been by the factory in Tennessee. You can private label it as your own for late 4 figures. Just don't sell alcohol in Alabama and Virginia as they are government controlled.
1:00 wrong its a tennessee whiskey because the charcoal filtering is legally an additive since the whiskey gets alot of its color and flavour from that. keep in mind the filtering takes 3 days in total. bourbons cant have any additives. which is why it a tennessee not bourbon.
@@brandonebaugh8651 well....there is "good fake taste" and "bad fake taste". One would be better off just buying some really good honey and mixing it in a glass with ice adding JD to it.
@@brandonebaugh8651 There ya go .....the natural way is best. You might even find a bottle of "cherry bitters" and add 1 drop to the mix. (orange bitters are the most common to find. You might have to buy cherry on ebay)
Jack Daniels is NOT a bourbon because it's charcoal mellowed... So legally, it is NOT bourbon because of that... The same goes with George Dickel for example... Not a bourbon, because it's charcoal mellowed....
You can buy a "COMMEMORATIVE BOTTLE" at the distillery. It's a sales trick. Magically, there are "several" versions of COMMEMORATIVE BOTTLES. I have done it.
Most of this video is pure fantasy and mostly fiction, He got the recipe from his Grandmother who made the whiskey and sold it to the local people in the village she lived in and she wasn't even American, she lived in a village, now a town Called Myrtha Tydfil in south Wales UK. Jack emigrated to the USA with his Grandmothers recipe in his pocket and that is well known and well document if you could be bothered to do the correct research on this subject.
Then you have a few problems one you got a crappy tour guide because I gave you the answer I got on my tour of the distillery. Two my answer is backed up be research There's a giant mystery on every label of Jack Daniel's Old No. 7 Business Insider › why-no-7-is-o... · Jack named the brand and it was a secret that he took to his grave," Arnett said. And three whatever anger issues cause you to insult a stranger because they didn't agree with you.
Is Jack Daniels truly the number one selling whisky in the world? One could argue it’d be Jim Beam. Which they also carry that slogan of, “The Worlds No. 1 Selling Bourbon Whiskey”.
I just want to know if Jack Daniels offers Non GMO corn whiskey? Does any good bourbon whiskey makers use organic non GMO corn? If so, please leave the names of the bourbon whiskey. I want to make my own non GMO corn whiskey Vanilla Extract. Thank you in advance for your time. God bless, Robyn
This constant repetition of narrative seems to tell me that this video is designed for those with an IQ of 75. Or its designed for people who have drunk half a bottle of their whiskey. Haha 😆

It’s time Nathan Green get his credit. He was the man who taught distilling techniques to Jack Daniel. Green was a master distiller. Yet this African American man, is not known by many. While jasper Daniel got all the credit, and fame.
Jack Daniels and his master distiller Nearest Green fought hard to survive in the whiskey business. Nearest Green winning the Gold Medal for whiskey was an amazing feat. It takes a whole company of experts from those supplying the wood for the casks, making the casks, and all the work the whole company provides to make one of the worlds best production whiskey. No production whiskey, well ya don't get no whiskey then.
Jack Daniels whisky is still good, but Scotch was still my favorite. I don't want anyone to bury me with either one of the bottled whiskies. I would rather be buried with an expensive whisky glass perhaps. Cheers! 🥃😁🥃🥃🥃🥃🥃🥃
Take it from someone who lives in Lynchburg TN. Jack Dainels is not a bourbon. Its made drop by drop through 10 foot packed charcoal. Also is made from a mixture of grains such as wheat, rye, barley and corn. Bourbon is 51% corn and has not additional flavors such as the charcoal for it to be a real bourbon. Sorry just a rant cause the distillery is the main attraction around here.
Um...no. You're adding stipulations that don't exist under federal law. Adding charcoal filtering doesn't disqualify it as long as it's 51% corn. Jack Daniels insists it's not a bourbon because it's good for the brand to be distinct. But under federal classification it's a Bourbon. This is inarguable.
If I die, i would bring a book that will be my favorite. But it has to belong in my series. Also, my pocket watch will be displayed on my headstone. Thanks for the video!
Taida Torri It made me want to puke the way my buddy Rodger regurgitated back the only shot of Jack he’d ever taken in his life. Immediately. Head down. On the bar rail, Not my drink of choice he says. And we kept drinking other stuff.
Not entirely true, you can buy alcohol in shops in Lynchburg but you must drink it behind closed doors, sinatra century is upwards of 1000 dollars a bottle now and comes with a frank sinatra usb,
Well here is another fact you didn't know. Drank Old NO. 7 for many years but now I drink Kessler and you can't tell the difference other than Kessler's is 1/3 the cost. Works for me. Add a little Makers Mark to the Kessler and you are in heaven.
