Maya Magination this musical brought me to tears, it is my personal and professional opinion as a theater performer and playwright that any art which makes the audience or viewer truly feel something is good art. Cry? Good art. Fuming angry? Good art. Scared? Good art. Honest emotional reactions are some of the best signs of true impact.

I always saw it as a kind of regret for Kim. Despite her wanting to save her son, she knew it was wrong to actually shoot him and it still haunts her later in the scene where she sees his ghost
Lea sounds so powerful and strong and emotional in the live version of this... but this version still gives me goosebumps, Lea's just the best when it comes to broadway and belting

Once more, she rejects his love declaring that she's sworn herself to CHRIS; the enraged THUY, now the people's commissar, orders his soldiers to attack. When I saw this at The Muny I was completely absorbed in this scene. A person a few seats down from me sneezed and I jumped because I completely forgot there was even people around me. Such an amazing show. If you ever get a chance to experience it live RUN to your seats and get comfy because you wont be getting up til the end
