Not sure how many folks will remember this, however the mother of Kanye West passed away right after having plastic surgery that was performed by Dr. Jan Adams sometime before 2008. Dr. Adams has had a series of malpractice suits before and after West mom's passing along with having a series of DUI violations that led to the surrendering of his medical license for a period of time. Dr. Adams did complete at least part of his probation requirements to help reinstate his medical license, but not all of it. As of 2017, it does not appear that Dr. Adams has ever reinstated his medical license in the state of California. However, it is unclear if he has an active medical license currently in any state of this country.

Unless you've got bits falling off your body don't touch it. Don't fix what's not broken

I always hated my nose and had a rhinnoplasticy in the 1980s. I used a top UK plastic surgeon who called in to see me on his way to London to give a talk to less qualified plastic surgeons. I would never consider going to a private clinic let alone abroad.

If you must have cosmetic surgery get someone that is board certified and that has a proven success record! I had a tram flap to rebuild my breast that was removed due to cancer. I wish I had not done this as they take a stomach muscle and use it to shape your breast. An artery was rerouted to keep this muscle alive. However, the muscle became hardened, it died. Fat was taken from my stomach to fill out a breast. I now have a scar from hip to hip, it looks awful. This area was slow to heal due to chemotherapy, and became infected, seeping pus. It was a long road to recovery so please don’t let yourself be talked into anything that is extreme. Later, I had a tattoo to cover the scar left by an attempt to create a nipple. I feel maimed.

There was nothing wrong with her nose.

Several times it has been reported that getting surgeries on face and body becomes a Serious ADDICTION and it gives the person temporary EUPORHIA meaning grand feelings of happiness, thus the repeated surgeries. But the horrible jobs done on their faces and bodies tells us many of them cannot see the damages, the addiction blinds them to how hideous they have become to look at, and on and on they go. Disreputable surgeons are a big part of this horror show, and greed.

I as a UK tax payer who has a life threatening illness, and relies on the NHS, I think that people who are STUPID and VAIN enough to travel abroad to get cheap cosmetic surgery, should be charged for everything they cost the rest of us through the NHS. I assume they haven't thought that due to their selfishness they are taking away money from those who really need it like not just me, but children with cancer, the young mother who has a heart condition, or the innocent person hit by a drunk driver.

It is like anything else. A little is all right usually, but these people take it to the extreme, and just like with alcohol, it all depends on what kind you buy and where you buy it. You get what you pay for.

Always go to a board certified plastic surgeon, and never cut corners.

It is horrible that People can’t be happy with the life they have been given put their life on the line, just so they can make themselves look like someone else . Most of these People look naturally so beautiful, but they can’t see just how beautiful they are! It is sad to see, when after their surgery they look like hell !

These stories in the above is all why anyone in either the United States or the United Kingdom needs to fully check out all plastic surgery procedures and the materials being currently used for the procedures from the actual tools to stuff like the very materials that make up things like lip fillers to see what they are along how up to date they are also. It is always worth it to save up the money and go to a licensed highly experienced plastic surgeon for even something as simple as lip fillers or even simple botox injections for wrinkles that are aided by a licensed highly experienced neurologist. Never go outside the U.S. or the U.K. for plastic surgery procedures for it will cost more than it is worth. And, even do your homework on any plastic surgeon in either the U.S. or the U.K. just to double check who the surgeon is, how experienced they are, how up to date their procedural methods are along with how current the materials and tools that they use for the very procedures that they perform too. Do the homework for it is well worth it.

IN BRAZIL THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF BEAUTICIANS CLINICS PERFORMING FILLERS ON THE PATIENTS' FACIALS AND BUTTOCKS. THERE ARE ALSO DENTISTS, NURSES, BIOMEDICS PERFORMING PROCEDURES THAT ONLY A PLASTIC SURGEON DOCTOR COULD PERFORM. THE SAME THING HAPPENS IN CANADA AND IN THE UNITED STATES. THE IRRESPONSIBILITY OF NON-PROFESSIONALS IN THE AREA AND OF PATIENTS IS OUT OF THE NORMAL!!!

Its like this.. all that money to look like a monster. Wow. I feel for these people, so afraid of being them natural selves, they will risk their lives.

I needed reconstructive surgery for my nose after 5 x broken due abuse from my parents. I was finally 27 and saved enough money to do quality shopping around. I wanted to breathe and have a nose I was born with. I went for search for quality surgeons before with my girl friends for their procedures so that helped me a lot with my final decision years later. I still called 30 clinics, seen 6 surgeons and heard some crazy views from some, finally last surgeon was super confident and every nurse looked alike with beautiful noses and super young. I spoke to them all and ended up with my nose done and Botox. They did amazing job with only internal scaring, I still ended up with damaged nerves which over years mostly recovered, however I still have part of my nose and side which I don’t feel right when touched. But I can breathe. I am very happy I did go for my surgery and that I carefully selected correct place with correct staff and surgeon. Yet I would only recommend surgery to those who really need it, reconstructive surgery from car crash, illness or abuse or excessive crazy amount of skin to remove after weight loss. Plastic surgery is beyond and above shallow and uncalled for bc you are beautiful - like Christina Aguilera sang it.

Are there things I don’t like about my body? Yes but I’m alive. Are these cases extreme? Some yes. Some started simple and in the hands of a good surgeon would have stayed simple. Ask yourself if you’re going to be a lucky patient or a dead or disfigured one. Is it worth the risk?

This culture around plastic surgery is really so damaging. People everywhere getting fillers at younger and younger ages, having all sorts of procedures done, traveling abroad to countries where you don't speak the language and know nobody to get unnecessary surgery is WILD. And for what? so you look 2% "better"? We're convinced that if we just fix whatever physical feature we don't like then we'll be happy with ourselves which is insane seeing as how much people's bodies change over the course of their lives. I've seen one lady on here who has spent thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars on cosmetic surgery and she uses her body to earn a living but she's getting older, seems unhappy with the lifestyle or rather it seems like it's not as fun to be constantly traveling and partying and surrounded by material possessions she needs to advertise. She constantly complains about being tired. So I think...was it worth it? No she doesn't have a 9-5 but she has to work constantly to keep up the lifestyle and its still WORK b/c she has to keep doing it even when she wants a break. Her body is severely altered so that she is stared at in public and objectified by men all the time so I imagine it's difficult to be in genuine relationships (and she touches on this) and again she's getting older so this is not going to become easier and she's spent the last decade altering herself and hasn't picked up other marketable skills (as far as I can tell). The lady was beautiful before the surgery so while it afforded her a more luxurious lifestyle, from the outside it doesn't seem worth it- the price is so heavy and her situation is not bad and what I think ideally a lot of women are looking for...but in reality at least in her situation, it looks like it's not all that it's cracked up to be.

People so often feel too embarrassed to ask questions, especially when in the face of "experts". I heard a comment about marriage long ago..." It's easier to fire a caterer, than to hire a divorce lawyer." I feel bad for all these victims, I truly do, so my comment goes out to everyone considering low-cost plastic surgery, would you buy some meat just because it's cheaper? No, then why on earth would you have someone cut apart your body just because it's cheaper? Tis is not your looks we're talking about. certain

Funny how crazy is now called dedication.

Even the most competent surgeons have complications which may or may not have anything do with the surgical procedure. Medicine is not an exact science. The best advice is to get treatment referrals from physicians you know and trust.

I was one of them who hated my body specially my butt . So I decided to do a BBL , the surgery was done in Sweden by very good plastic surgery doctor. The day after the operation I was taken to the hospital, I spend three months there almost dying from infection. It doesn’t matter if it’s a good clinic or a good doctor you can still have a very bad infection.!!! Think twice before you do something like that ❤

There's always a risk in a surgery, no matter if a plastic surgery or not. But here, in most of the cases, we are not talking about real plastics surgeries. Some of those people injected black market substances and were aware of it. Why would anybody do that

I am 67 and never had any work done on any part of my body and never ever will. Hardly wear make-up unless it is a special event. And I on occasion do readings and book signings. I am a writer. Can never do that crap botox. Fillers. Fake stuff. Father time will be visiting everyone. 😊

I am a surgeon from Turkey and I can confortably assure you that there are many very high quality medical facilities and highly educated plastic surgeons in Turkey.
