Here is a list of 15 tips, tricks and less known items about the C8 Corvette that I comprised from C8 Forums, ownership and owners manual.. I think you may learn a thing or two.
Here are some additions/comments. #5, when you open the rear hatch/engine cover and it lifts up on its own to its "max height", you can push it up a little HIGHER to allow for better access to engine and the glass, especially from the side of the car. #6, when you lock the car, in addition to the GLOVE BOX and CENTER CONSOLE, the Fuel Cap Cover also LOCKS #7, minor suggestion, GM DIELECTRIC grease is what one service TECH suggested. Love learning more about these cars! Good content!
Hello Mark. First of all, thank you for your military service. Secondly, this was a great video. I actually thought your number 4 tip was the most interesting. I have had an auto lift called “Double Park” for about 25 years. I even moved it from one home to another. I look forward to seeing yours and I know you will appreciate it for storage and also maintenance work. My C8 allocation has not come in yet. I expect a few more months. The only videos from you I am interested in are C8 videos - I will not watch other generation Corvette videos. So please keep those C8 videos coming!
I love the car obviously but the garage.. wow! Love the lights… I suppose you just live in your garage having your computer there and the vette behind you.. fantastic! Regards from the UK.
Great stuff and did ya know . 16 : There is only 1 -12 volt power outlet inside. It is buried under the dash on left side of glove box door 17: there is a finger pull wire under the dash behind the brake and tucked under the dash close to the firewall, that allows you to access the dead car's frunk and battery (for a jump start ) 18: 23 year C8s dropped the rear 2nd key hole, only 1 remains right of driver door "handle" tucked under the boomerang.
I don’t have a C8, but really enjoyed the tips! I noticed you will need to add insulation to the garage door once you install the wall mounted HVAC system. The garage looks fantastic!
First of all thanks for the Frunk open trick. That was really driving me crazy (thought it was broken). I just got my HTC yesterday and took it to the shop to get PPF + clear coat. I have a question though, where do I place a jack stand? If I use the jack point to raise the front of the car there’s no place to put the stand. Need to raise the car to install the radiator grill.
I just saw my 2024 Vette for the first time today. It took two and a half years to get it. I didn't take it home today because I choose to get a ceramic coating done first. When I first saw it -- it just blew me away!
Hey I’m a new subscriber and became one after watching your video on ordering your 1LT. I noticed you have a Z button on your steering wheel. Did you option for the z51 or is just a button for sport mode? I’m trying to decide if zmode is necessary for me, I don’t plan on tracking but I still want my vette to “feel” like a vette went I want to push it to the limit… thanks in advance buddy
The other thing to remember about the exhaust note in the various modes is that, in all but Track, the car will drop in and out of V4 mode. I think the most exhaust note fun can be had using a mode with the exhaust open (Sport, or configured in Z or My) and shifting the car manually (“M” button), which also forces V8, like Track does. Depending on the timing of up and down shifts, cool rumbles, burbles, farts are possible.
@VetOnVettes Were you ever able to add a HUD to a 1LT (like you mentioned a while back)? It seems feasible for the OEM HUD but I was curious if you looked into it?
I'm still doing homework on it. I can source the HUD/new dash panel & the control buttons. I cannot find the applicable wire harness that connects the gauge cluster though. I need to keep sifting through eBay
I use the OEM Battery Tender all the time on my 2022 C8. The Frunk is in the one click position, so the Frunk is open a crack for the cord not to be damaged. Will the Frunk “Soft Close” feature be affected and close, or will it remain in the first click position to not crimp the cord unless you put pressure on the Frunk Lid to fully close it?
Yeah I’m sure it will also for the cars without soft close if you put it in the first click position how do you get it open while the cord is still in there? Do you just hit the button again. I have mine on the tender and just let it down without clicking it because I wasn’t sure about that.
Mine does, it's a 2023, however, what I have is when I walk away, the car locks itself and the mirrors fold. Check the manual or Google to sort it out. Might be a settings thing.
I have sat in both, I have GT2's. If I close my eyes and dont know what I am sitting in, its VERY hard to tell the difference. The visual difference is MUCH greater than the tactile difference. There MAY be a smidge more lateral bolstering, nothing to note really. GT2's if you want the visual difference, which includes TWO TONE colorations. That was the only reason I did it, and it cost me too much really. It looks good, just not sure if it is "$2000 good"

I wasn't aware that it was removeable top for the convertible. Is that standard on all new Corvette convertibles, or are there some models/packages that have an automated top rollback mechanism? I'm thinking it looks like a Ferrari Spyder, but doesn't have the best and coolest feature for all that money? WTF???!!!
He has a coupe. Mine has a transparent blue top with a white body. So when I drive, day or night, I can see the sky. It also looks better than having the sane colour top. The cabriolet version has a mechanism that will move the top back. However, it doesn't really let you see the engine like the coupe and the cover on the cabriolet is angled down so if for some unknown reason you have it outside in the rain, the water collects by the rear window. I would get the coupe if you can. The top is kind of hard to handle, but looks better than the cabriolet.
my c8 threw me on the road after 38 miles out of factory. Engine check light was on, and gear was stuck at #1. Had to tow it back to the nearest dealership
I'm 3 months into the video, and you are not talking about the tips yet. I'm sorry, but I couldn't care less, just get to it. Whatever you want to say, save it for last. Get to the tips, first hand.
