Thank, well explain. I will sppreciate being able to modify shape size by modifying cell value without the use of VBA. We could refer shape text to a cell, so why Excel does not provide this possibility to refer to a cell for shape size ?
Hi John, very interesting video. I have a question How you can add a hyperlink to a shape but use a formula instead of a single cell. I would like to add a hyperlink to a shape that goes to the bottom of a table, this table will have variable numbers of rows.
Thank you for this. I've learned some new tricks. I was wondering if you can help me. I made a chart with data in Excel, and then I overlayed a rectangle with two colors, which I set to high transparency (mostly 90%, it also has some slight gradient to it). But. I am now trying to "Send it back" to keep the data on my chart looking crisp... I have tried almost everything and looked at the settings as well... and it just won't go back! I also need it to be in the background because I often need to update the data, but I am having to move the overlay shape out of the way and back on top... which still renders the data slightly fuzzy. Do you by any chance know how I can fix this? Thanks!
Hi, it is great video. And, could you give instruction to move shape by function? Ex: I have function today() to show the date of today (4/5), and I want to assign shape to this function to order shape run to the next day if function today() show the date of tomorrow (4/6) without drag shape by hand. Thanks.
@@HowToExcelBlog I mean that when the user hovers over the shape, then a yellow box appears, to explain something related to that shape. It's like a tooltip, but for a shape, not for a tool.
I don't think there is a way. You could create a new workbook and set a default shape. Then set that workbook to open when you start Excel so it's always your "blank" workbook.
hello, i wonder if there's a way to do a thing with shapes: i wanted to make a sheet with various small shapes with text and value, and a bigger shape my goal is to have the bigger shape to sum up the value of the the small shapes putted inside the bigger shape
DO you know of a way to protect shapes and still have them excute the machos attached to them? I can't get them to do that. When I protect the sheet, they will give me an arror on my VBA.

HI! thanks for the tutorial. When I double click on the shape to write on it, the shape disappears, and it doesn't show what I am typing until I go to another sheet and comeback. I wasn't having this problem before, I'm using excel 2019 on a mac, everything is updated. I'm going crazy! help!!!
Hi, I inserted too many pictures (shapes) in one cell in excel. Say 100 images in same topleftcell. Now everytime I click (select) the topmost image of it, and then select any cell, the window blinks (the images ) Maybe to quickly show that there are multiple on it,. I find it annoying, how to avoid the blinking? Please help.
