I've been using excel for complex budgets and forecast, and thought I was an advanced user, until I came across your videos, your work , the way you find those solutions, is just impressive , thank you very much for enlightening us :)
Just when you think you know enough about graphs, Leila comes and shows us more interesting stuff!! My takes on this video are the overlapping columns, the copy+paste of shapes and icons and the ctrl+shift+C and ctrl+shift+V. Thanks Leila :)
I've been working with Excel since 2.0 (1988) and I've never considered doing info-graphics before with Excel. This was a very enjoyable tutorial. I've subscribed and banged the bell. Thank you for creating.
Because it's useless. Nobody does this in excel. It takes too much time. There are better softwares that allow you to visualize your data more efficiently.
In case it gets overlap, you can fix the icon using IF condition on Icon value, say upto 15%. That way even though icon goes out of blue shade into grey , it's better than overlap as beyond 15%(15%-0%) the icon stops moving. Ex:=IF(A2-0.05
I LOVE THIS VIDEO!! I have seen other tutorials for similar subjects but never explained in this straight-forward manner, or in such a concise and helpful way. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and skills with us!
Bloody brilliant. Flat out the best how-to excel video I have seen. Those dialogue boxes are so complex I always shy away from messing around with them, but your instructions are so clear you blow away the barrier to getting effective results. A huge thank you..
first, I love this tutorial. I thought I was "pretty good" at excel but these videos show me there is so much more to learn. awesome! Second, I noticed that when I paste the icons on the scatter plot they come out blurry (low resolution). I'm on a mac using an updated version of office 365. has anyone else seen this?
Wonderful indeed I'll draw some of these for my company. We all should ask MS for an improvement..... preservation of your hard work when you change data sources.
This is next level wizardry. How have I used Excel for 15 years of school and university and never known this :O RU-vid really is the future of learning skills.
I just came across this video when searching for help on a project that I am working on. Awesome! Thank you. Your explanations are very easy to follow.
I realize the video has been online for a while but I just wanted to say that your intelligence, perseverance and attention to details are fantastic. Wherever you are, those around you should consider themselves lucky as … vuck
FYI, the shapes only get updated if the new range doesn't overlap the original range - so if you expand it to cover both, and then shrink it, you should be able to keep the formatting.
Clear and simple instructions. Easy to follow examples. I also like the tone of your voice. It's not intimidating... it's calming... assuring me that it is simple encouraging that I can do it... Which I've realized, "I CAN!" Thanks.
@@LeilaGharani Whoah!... How nice to hear from you. It was very timely that I discovered your tutorial. Considering the "Stay-At-Home-'til-who-knows-when", your tutorial has made the time worth spending and has definitely brought some sanity in this trying time. Focusing on what I can do is more productive than ranting about the things I'm kept from doing. I've actually scheduled a tutorial a day to have some sense of routine. Through all of this, I"ll be more skilled long after this pandemic. Again, Thanks. Where ever on the side of the globe you may be, I wish you and your family to be safe. I wish all of us well. Cheers!
Leila - THANK YOU!!! Your instructions in this video were great. You helped me change a boring bar graph into a cool infographic style chart that got the attention of my senior management.
A lot of people came here claiming they were really good in Excel and then realised there is so much more going on thanks to Leila... I'm one of them, so happy I found this channel!
Question re icon and label overlap when values small: Firstly, thank you for this excellent tip; I tried it and it looks great. My question is, how can one factor in a change in the position of the labels and icons for when the values fall small, so that they don't overlap? For example at 10% the label and icon sit on top of each other. Can a , say, conditional formatting with IF() be used to change the label position to avoid this? Many thanks for all your tutorials, Z Addendum 1: On my sheet when the percentage for one of the chart data series falls below 26% the icon and series label start to overlap. So I changed the Icon's X axis position formula on the spreadsheet to: =IF(B4
Great, I don''t know what to say, I think all have been said. I am now addicted to videos from your channel! Thank you so much for helping me to get more from excel! I didn't know excel is so rich!
Her videos blow my mind. Excel is Leila's world and we're just living in it. Also, Microsoft take notes... this is great and should be way easier to do.
I especially rescheduled my routine to just take out some time to learn from your such amazing tutorials. Thumbs up 👍. Keep posting such knowledge base tutorials. Thanks 😊
I also thought I was an expert but I never fail to learn new things from watching her vedios - I also have taken many of her courses over the years. Very easy to follow!
I program in Visual Basic Application with every software in MS Office, but I do not know this awesome feature! Thanks for the video and thanks for give us such creative tips to improve my (for me) advanced use of MS Excel! Great channel!!
Hi Leila, when you adjust or customize the design, you can allways save it as a chart template, so you don't have to format everything again when you need to use it again ;)
I don't use Excel for infographics or anything like this, but this video taught me a lot about how graphs work which I'm sure I will find a use for at some point. Awesome video
