i have a question about the pies, say i wanna buy some european stocks that are traded in EUROS together with some US stocks traded in US$ can i put BOTH into the SAME PIE? how would this work with 2 different currencies? or does each stock in the same pie have to be from the same currency? so you cant have 6 stocks in US$ and 5 euro stocks bough in euros in the same pie?

Hello, my friend! Brilliant video. Sorry for the random question. I noticed you have a bank account in Dubai. Do you need to have a registered business in Dubai to open a bank account there, or could we open one before moving there without residency? I'm considering a move to Dubai, and I've always wanted to open a bank account before relocating. Any advice on this? I see you're using WIO?
@SmartMoneywithKai
@SmartMoneywithKai 3 месяца назад
Hi mate. Thanks a lot and yes, Dubai is the place, can’t wait to be back. Indeed I use Wio and love it so far. Used another more traditional bank before and really was not happy with them but Wio is a digital first bank and makes it much more seamless. However in order to open your bank you need to have a valid residency in place so first, you need to get your residency sorted, and with this, you can then open rather easily your Wio account. Cheers mate

Hi Please tell me how can I buy " a bar of gold" online.. I mean an amount like 1/6 of an ounce .. and hold on to it. Is there a platform provides such service?
@SmartMoneywithKai
@SmartMoneywithKai 3 месяца назад
Hi 👋 Absolutely, you can buy a fraction of gold online, including amounts as specific as 1/6 of an ounce. Check out platforms like BullionVault or GoldMoney. These sites allow you to buy, sell, and hold gold in secure vaults. Just create an account, fund it, and select the amount of gold you want to purchase. They offer flexibility in buying various amounts, so finding the right size for your investment should be a breeze. Remember to do your own research and consider the fees involved. Happy gold investing! 💰✨

Kai, i have noticed that the exchange fee of trading 212 is lower than revolut therefore i prefer to send usd from revolut to trading 212 and then exchange it there instead of doing in revolut
@SmartMoneywithKai
@SmartMoneywithKai 3 месяца назад
Really? That's surprising, never found that, though if you factor in the 0.15% of T212, it definitely is more expensive that Revolut. Of course, unless you compare on the weekends, there Revolut does charge 1% FX fee 👌 Cheers
@rogerzachariades5337
@rogerzachariades5337 3 месяца назад
@@SmartMoneywithKai i actually compared it because i didnt trust that revolut doesnt charge any fee. I tried to convert 1K usd to euro and revolut gives 920.91 claiming that its market rate while 212 gives me 921.39 with 0.15 % fee. And if you read revolut terms and conditions it states that the exchange rate is dynamic.
@SmartMoneywithKai
@SmartMoneywithKai 3 месяца назад
Hi mate, very interesting, I just did the same and got $0.50 more with Revolut compared to T212 based on exchange €1K. To be fair, that's almost negligible so well done to T212 for such competitive rates 👌

Converting your euros in Revolut is more expensive than in Trading 212, you are better off just converting them in Trading 212, you can check for yourself. No fees doesn't mean it's cheaper
@SmartMoneywithKai
@SmartMoneywithKai Месяц назад
Hi, thanks for sharing your feedback. I convert 3-4K each month and never found T212 to be cheaper, having said that I am on the Revolut Ultra plan and do that only during weekdays where there is no 1% markup so I get mid-market rates most of the time which is better. Of course depends on which currency pairs you are trading, but yea, in my experience never found T212 cheaper, though having said that, 0.15% is still incredible and much better for most especially if they are on one of the lower Revolut plans. Cheers

Revolut does have a transaction fee. If you transfer lets say 100 euro to usd and the amount you got as usd back into euros you will see that you did loose some value. I calculated it to be around 0.35%.

Hi and and sure they do, as they mention on their page, though I found it depends on the currency pair you are exchanging and time of day, it's not fixed and found many times that it was cheaper than T212, but both are great options 👌

I dont invest much money but I have € so my question is: is it better to convert them into $ or just buy Vanguard S&P 500 from Europe? Plus interest on cash is bigger for $
@SmartMoneywithKai
@SmartMoneywithKai 2 месяца назад
Hi 👋 Great question! Whether to convert your euros to dollars or invest directly in euros depends on a few factors: Currency Conversion Costs: Converting currency might involve fees or unfavorable exchange rates, which could eat into your investment returns. Investment Options in Europe: You can actually buy Vanguard S&P 500 ETFs that are denominated in euros (like the Vanguard S&P 500 UCITS ETF). This allows you to invest in the S&P 500 without needing to convert your money into dollars. Interest Rates: While dollar accounts might offer higher interest rates compared to euro accounts right now, this benefit needs to be weighed against the potential costs and risks of currency fluctuation. Given these points, if you're primarily looking to invest in the S&P 500, it might be simpler and more cost-effective to purchase the ETF in euros directly from Europe. This avoids the hassle and potential costs of currency conversion while still allowing you to invest in a broad market index. Cheers

@SmartMoneywithKai
@SmartMoneywithKai Месяц назад
Hi Jamie 👋, While there can be exceptions based on specific currency pairs or trading times, Revolut generally tends to be more cost-effective during the weekdays as they don't charge the typical 0.15% FX fee that you might see on platforms like Trading 212. The key difference often comes into play during weekends when Revolut applies a surcharge. Always worth checking the details of your transactions to ensure you’re getting the best rate! Cheers

@@SmartMoneywithKai when used a lot of money from what I remember I had to pay big fees with revolut and with trading212 these fees were smaller i remember isn't it that from a specific amount let's say after many thousands of euros trading212 can be cheaper then revolut?
@SmartMoneywithKai
@SmartMoneywithKai Месяц назад
Ah yes, maybe you were on one of the lower plans on Revolut where there is a monthly FX limit, in this case you are absolutely right, anything over that amount is charged at 1% so for that Trading 212 is cheaper, that's why I always recommend to go with one of the higher Revolut plans but of course depends on each person.
@geohub4242
