They still can be, most phones back then weren't actually colorful either, everyone bought decorative cases like you can still do today, that's why they're plain so you can customize yourself. Instead of producing 2 million pink phones only to throw away 1.5 million in a landfill because not enough people wanted pink phones, you can produce 2 million phones in one color, sell every single one, save thousands of dollars in production, and 200 small companies with booths at the mall will produce colorful custom cases for people to put on their phone, they cost like $5-$8 and phones need a case these days anyway or they get broken the second your pocket bumps a table. Why produce entire lines of colors for a few select people and attempt to make exactly enough of that color to sell them all to people who like that color? That's marketing su!cide for a brand, no duh they stopped it. It's the same reason they don't sell a bunch of custom painted cars these days and you have to get your car painted on your own dime if you want it to look special, same reason why Coke and Pepsi only run soecial flavors for a fre months and then stop before they lose any more money producing a niche flavor only a few of us are buying, I loved Coca Cola Blak but they weren't going to keep producing millions of dollars of product just for me and my mom to enjoy, when 95% of their marketing demographic hated it and it was being thrown away when not sold. Companies aren't going to waste product to make custom colors if they barely sell. I'd rather customize my own phone than get a cool looking phone and knowing they produced millions of that one design and it was ugly to everyone but me so now there's a whole batch of phones rotting in the earth now so I could have my special color. Not worth it to me in the amount of extra energy and material that uses and waste that it produces. That's why special things are limited, you can't sell custom items to the whole population and it's a huge loss to all of us in the end.
It's not always about the number of megapixels a camera has. There's a handful of digital cameras I use for different effects with a low megapixel count, but the pics turn out amazing because the resolution of the image sensor is incredibly high and the size of the megapixels is very small compared to other cameras made at the same time.
Wait.. you swallow your bubblegum? You know you’re not suppose to actually swallow your bubblegum right? You’re suppose to spit it out when it loses its flavor!
my best friend and I in middle school or high school had this phone lol I had the blue one and she had the pink one. Definitely make the squeaky noises with it all the time
"in the movies" lmao. Were you not around when phones like these came out? My parents had Sony Ericsson phones when I was growing up, these were very much real lol
Lol, I had same exact one but with altel. Which use to be a service back in the day. I upgraded to a sidekick type knock off with metropcs. Then finally my family all got iphone 4s with verizon. Now I’m using iphone 12 pro, my husband uses 12 mini. We just use t mobile and buy our phones used every few years from amazon or ebay.
I have a sonim XP3 flip phone that I use as my main/only cell phone. It's really good! Durable, waterproof (like, you can wash it off in the sink), runs a 4g wifi hotspot, bugless software, clicky buttons, everything.... but it's not as cuuuuute as old phones! I wish I could get this exact same phone in pink SO BAD. Thinking of painting/bedazzling it myself, lol.
You can give them to recycling places so that the rare metals will be reused. Alternatively, africans get exploited by china to dig up new rare metals.
🙋🏽♀️Me too 🤣🤣🤣. And I would die if I couldn't see my old pictures that are in the phones, although all I need to do is download & print 'em off.🤔🥴😩🤦🏽♀️🤭
I can't believe Sprint had a tie-in to the SCP Foundation. It mentioned an SCP-2700, which according to lore is a directed-energy weapon invented by Nikola Tesla...
SCP-2700 is a complex mechanical device, believed to be a sophisticated directed-energy weapon developed by Serbian physicist and inventor, Nikola Tesla. The device was discovered in 1946, and recovered from a defunct but heavily secured research facility utilized by Tesla in [REDACTED] during 1934
Special Containment Procedures: The above falsified document is to be made available for all personnel without 4/2700 Clearance. SCP-2700's containment vault is located 180 meters from the surface-level entrance to Secure Bunker-███. The vault itself is to be insulated against seismic activity and safeguarded by three (3) sets of reinforced steel doors. Access to the vault is forbidden barring semi-hourly inspection, unless there is risk of an imminent containment failure and contingency procedures are necessary. All personnel entering the vault are to be equipped with batrachotoxin collars, which are to be activated for any breach of protocol.
Seriously I thought the same 😂 I was so surprised by the quality cause my brain was like: hm 1.3? Must be pixelated and crankier than a bank camera or when u want to print out something from Fallout1 😂
Man I worked in a bank and our cameras could read the serial number off a $20 bill from 20ft away. That shit could see my teams messages on the computer screen too 😭
That'd be late 00s mate haha teenagers didn't have camera phones until about 05/06 that's when they took off in my high school anyway I was in grade 10 now I have to go ice my thumbs and oil my knees hahaha
@@gregynutbutter You’re right! I know exactly how you feel 😂. Im 39 now. I can’t believe how fast it all flew by. It feels like yesterday I still had my Blackberry Pearl lol.
Yeah I currently have one of these. It's a navy color though. I keep it because it's got pictures and old stuff on it. But it's so old that I can't connect it to modern day wifi to transport them off, nor can I connect it to my computer via a USB cable to get them off 😅
It’s funny when you look at these old garbage phones and get such a warm tingly feeling thinking about how much fun you once had and the joy of texting your friends. Now I sit with yet another unnecessary iPhone upgrade and despite using it often feel no joy.
@@D-is4-DAWG not "purposely", older phones can't handle new updates due to old processors same with applications that perform worse on old processors. I had an older Samsung mid range that wasn't able to handle android 12 due to outdated processor.
It's not that phone technology doesn't have to offer something new, you just grew old and a sourpuss. iPhone still offers plenty for people that are interested.
That's why I just don't bother to get new phones. The only times I get a new one are if my parents randomly get me a new one for Christmas or something or if the one I'm using brakes and it can't be easily repaired.
"SCP-2700 is a complex mechanical device, believed to be a sophisticated directed-energy weapon developed by Serbian physicist and inventor, Nikola Tesla." That thing must be powerful 💀
@@originalyoutuber1008basically the SCPs (secure, contain and something i don’t remember) are a group of fictional supernatural entities or beings or creatures which had been captured and contained by an organization and each SCP is given a code like SCP 1,2,100 and so and so. Most of them are creepy af and have strange powers. You should look up it up. I used to read them as a kid along with other creepy pastas (I’m turning 25 this year lol)
@@originalyoutuber1008 SCP Foundation Fandom, which is a virtual foundation that contains Monsters and anomalies, it uses its name and numbers for monsters/anomalies so it could be called out quickly (e.g SCP-2700)
They still could give hints of someone's personality based on wallpaper and the phone case they use, but I see what you mean. Modern phones looks so plain and boring now unless you have a case on them.
@@Focus_Ansh there is horror game called s.c.p containment breach and there are lot of entitys they name after s.c.p. (number) one of them are the s.c.p. 2700 the keter (S.c.p.- Secure. Capture. Protect) And there is a another scp called s.c.p.2700 its mechanical device
Am I the only one who gets CHILLS IN THEIR SPINE AND GOOSEBUMPS every time I hear that squeaky sound you get from scratching holograms and apparently from scratching the IBarbie 15 pro max over here
SCP-2700 is a complex mechanical device believed to be a weapon of some sort developed by Nikola Tesla. The Foundation recovered it in 1946. SCP-2700 is classified as "Safe" because it can be contained relatively easily. However, it has the potential to be very dangerous if it fell into the wrong hands. The Foundation keeps it in a secure vault and forbids anyone from tampering with it.

Remember when the phone screens didn't have much color.. just like shades of black & white, some blue & green .. and it took 5+ mins to load the Internet, and you really couldn't do ANYTHING on that internet... Sure came far since the early 2000's
"hey Michael, where did our box of SCP phones that use the camera to trap the subjects soul inside the phone go?... What do you mean you sold them... No they were NOT JUNK MICHAEL"
I actually miss Sprint. I was the only one at my job who had service in any part of the building in the late auguts and early 2010s. I actually still have mmy old Samsung Upstage and Palm Pre.
There are still people on sprint to this day. I knew someone who worked in T-Mobile and they had people coming in to pay the bill on their sprint plan all the time. He said T-mobile hates it and will offer people all kinds of discounts and free phones and shit to switch, just to get em off the sprint network cuz it’s still costing T-Mobile money. But those people will NOT switch. I have to admire the tenacity
My first touch phone was Nokia 5800 express music Oh man I miss that phone, so many features awesome camera at that time. Best speaker even today's standard I still have the phone but its broken due to heavy usage. That phone had stylus and you can write English letters and numbers and phone will recognise it. My actual first phone was nokia 1600
I had one, it was a dark red and it was great..used it through middle school in the early 2010s. Even took photos at a air show with it. It was a good phone, last for a very long time. Just had to upgrade for the times.
