SUUUCH a good idea. So happy to see my favorite Mythbusters moment (as well) come back to life. IDEA!!!:what if you actually DID do the resident evil grid cut....? make a metal grid, just like the laser grid in the movie, and send THAT down the rocketway... imagine the prep time that you'd save in the kitchen!
The government saw your comment and wrote it down. They had a seminar about your comment and thought it was a good idea they offered it to the general and he thought it were a good idea some Arabs in Arab land expired because of flying knives. So you can claim your share of money from uncle Sam... 😉
for the future, when you burn yourself, don't use ice! run it under some cool water. don't know why, but that's what my dermatologist friend told me when I burned myself... keep up the great work! this is tons of fun.
I really enjoy your videos and I think you do a fantastic job. I want to say I think you should try to talk to the camera/audience more like you talk to someone like the person with you in this video.
Tbh, based on my calculations, you could survive being on that. The acceleration would be around 223.5m/s² which, could snap your neck, but if you were in the right position, you would survive for that fraction if a second. The G force would be about 22.793g which is survivable without repercussions if only held for a short period of time, held in place with equipment and in the right position.
Nehemiah Snyder I got 2nd degree burns across the entirety of my palm and the part of the fingers facing the palm because I thought grabbing a go-cart engine was a good idea while it was running for at least 12 hours
It'd be nice if the track is long... And it would be interesting how it looks like when you use the rocket with the go pro, for the short track kind of leaves you wanting more.
God I love the style videos used to take. Do the thing you came for first, and then keep filming different things for the people that want to see more. Basically the opposite of the style we have now
There’s two ways you can tell this is In Florida, his outfit, and the fact that he’s doing this in his backyard. Btw I live in Florida, that’s how I can tell he lives in Florida without prior knowledge.
The first thing my blacksmithing instructor taught me: "Nobody burns themselves on red hot steel. Everyone burns themselves on metal that LOOKS normal." The second I saw him going for that knife I knew what was about to happen. =( Get well soon!
Yes I miss him to and I think it's sad that he passed away, but I think he wouldn't of wanted that everyone wrote RIP Grant Thompson in every youtubers comment section
I miss grant to honestly I cried more over him than most people I have lost throughout life. I wish he was still with us R.I.P heaven isn’t good enough for you and neither is here. 😔💔
"im recreating a mythbusters experiment" Mythbusters: DONT TRY THIS AT HOME "na im good bro" *burns his fingers* Mythbusters: We told you not to try it!

the finger burn wasnt related to the whole thing at all
Wow, thanks! It's hard to make videos like this every couple of days though, there's a lot of work and preparation involved. I'd rather put out quality well thought out videos, rather than just cheap gimmicks :-)
TheBackyardScientist Just a quick suggestion. Maybe have the knife go through some Oobleck or liquid metal. Ooh! Put some steel wool on the knife, light it, and shoot it! ~Thanks, Ethan
+TheBackyardScientist Really... I was watching TV around 6:30 eastern time and i was watching the discovery channel and i saw YOU with the rocket knife. So then i went on my computer and sure enough there was your upload
They ask me, but their terms of use is so broad I never know exactly where or when they will be using it. Daily Planet- a Diacovery owned podcast is the one that ask to use my videos. By letting them use my videos, discovery can use it as well. I'm not exactly thrilled they are using my videos outside of the original request, but hey free advertisement I guess!
Reladox, I wouldn't put up with it. He is irresponsible, reckless, and dangerous. He is going to get someone hurt, or worse. Hiding behind a piece of wood, or plastic table is not going to protect you
user255 I saw a study where they burned rats and tested healing with warm or cold water. Warm healed faster, but pain relief is not a trivial benefit. And warm water HURTS really bad on a burn.
TheGhost Or an interesting porno idea, someone saves someone from this contraption then starts having a threesome with the villain, the victim and the hero.
0 to 150mph in .3 seconds would be the equivalent of 22.9gs of force. John Stapp did a series of rocket sled tests, where he showed that a human could survive at least 46.2gs relatively unscathed if properly harnessed, and sustained 25gs for 1.1 seconds with little ill effects. So actually, it would be very much survivable, although not particularly comfortable.
But it's not as slow at a higher framerate. He says he's recording at 3000fps. So to show that final one tenth of a second is 300 frames. Played back at 30fps you get 10 seconds of footage, or 100 times slower than real time. Played back at 60fps it's only 5 seconds of footage, or 50 times slower than real time.
Are you sure it's still 150 mph with the increased weight of the camera? Fun fact: 0 to 150 mph in 0.3 seconds is around 22g, so yeah if you had the same acceleration with a human, it would most likely be lethal ;-)
