Not tried sectional throwing but definitely on my list! My kiln is only 45cm high (internally) so that will be my limit... but plenty for me to be getting on with. Thank you for another good watch! 🙂

I'm getting a crush on the pot in the background above the red cabinet.

Another beautiful piece!! What color(s) do you have in mind for glazing? Can't wait to see it! Thank you for another great video!

Thanks. I am most likely going with one of my favorite combinations of Floating Blue, various oxide splashes, Heath A2 White and Temmoku Gold on the rim

I tried this for the first time last week, after watching your video. Your tips definitely helped, and I appreciate that you showed the full process without too many cuts. It made the project a lot more approachable, and I really like my vase so far, even if I could have probably thrown it in one piece

What kind of clay would you recommend for someone just getting started with throwing on a wheel?

It depends on where you live what is available. You should talk to your local pottery shop and ask them. They should know :-)

4.5 kg = 9.9208 lbs. lol. Bit more than 5. Love watching your videos, not sure if I am up to those big pots, even in sections yet.

True - did I really sat 5? Hehe Well you guys should join us in using metrics. Makes so much more sense :-)

@deMibPottery We should. In high school, in the 1970s, they said the U.S. would be moving to the metric system. We have liters on sodas, but I think that is the extent of it, I think.

@@deMibPottery Lol. I do use metric, I am from Canada. Just tossed it out there for anyone using imperial.

Maybe a stupid question : why not throw the "top" section first? That way the "bottom" part is already on the wheel and centered.

If you just use two sections you can do that but I often do more. The problem is also if you throw the top first if will dry the most and you want the lower section(s) to be most dry. I also find it difficults to manage the design in reversed order :-)
