this was a good fight, damn jerusalem gave me hard time but in the end i managed to flank him with that second breach. the problem is that before the last stand 2 people crashed, 1 in both teams, so this is why before the last stand some troops seems to doing weird shit xD

You know what? I think the army composition part at the beginning is actually really helpful and if you skip it, everything's confusing bc you have no idea who's who.

Fun fact: Dvor means court as in the court of a lord so it's basically all the men from a lords court on the battlefield in one unit. As well Drorac means Castle (these translations are from Serbian so they may mean something slightly different) :)

The characters are those who lived around 1313 a.d. but everything else was fabricated Backgound on the battle: After the fall of the outremar and jerusalem, there was a serious mistrust towards the leaders of the crusader states, who were thought of not being capable to defend the holy land. Now based in Cyprus, the king of cyprus Henry II of Lusignan, deep in depression for the loss of the last holdings on mainland levant, being the last crowned king of jerusalem, ruled the island with little energy, not minding the scorn and hatred from all of Christendom for his failure (the whole of europe couldn't match their disgust of him as his own). His court resembled at this point an abominable mix of funerary grief and exalted debauchery. For in fact what the nobility noticed in their new predicament was that they were now free of their duties to protect the realm, since there were no threats to them on cyprus. And with the ex-greek island to themselves, in the middle of a vibrant Mediterranean economy, they decided that the best way to recover from their grieving is to live an extremely worldly life, where the word of god was not ever heard, or at least not from the faithful and humble preachers, too disgusted by that court to set foot (preferring a boycott of the ruling class). Meanwhile king Philip IV of france, seeking other kingdoms other than that of sicily for his relatives (and therefore himself) saw how nice a kingdom of jerusalem would look on the title of house of capet "achievements", so he demanded from his dog, the french pope in avignon Clement V to "arrange" such a situation. It wasn't hard for the papal writers to find ways to deem house lusignan unworthy of their role and papal jurist pulled from the university city of Bologna quickly came with ancient roman edicts granting ownership of the land to the king of the franks. Therefore, Philip the fair prepared for war. Noticing the warnings and secret letters from their families in france the ruling elite began to prepare back in cyprus. And whilst the nobles cared not for who ruled, as long as they maintained their privileges and lifestyle, one man, the only man loyal and capable in that kingdom, the only friend to king Henry II, the Grand Master of the Hospital Folques de Villaret, decided to take control of the situation, not least because of fear of what happened to the hospitallers. He managed to be appointed regent if the ruler was absent and was able to convince his friend to become a hermit to redeem his sins. Once in control, he seeked to cast out all not useful members of the court, who didn't much care of it by that point. After clearing his court of useless elements (including the royal children) he asked the princes of europe for aid for an "impending muslim attack". Many refused to answer but some like king of denmark Eric IV, who sought a chance to gain prestige and win the throne of denmark from his half-brothers, came with an expeditionary force to help the island nation. Others, like king ferdinand the IV of castille, clearly saw the whole situation and came to deal a blow to Philip in anger for Phillips dominion over the crown of Navarre. Finally some fledgling remnants of the knights templar who survived heeded the call of their hospitaller brothers and joined them. All was not well though for Folques as with his centralization of power disrupted venices dominion over the island and created a situation which both republics sought to quickly remove. Therefore diplomats from the most serene republic tried and succeded to gain a treaty with philip in wich whilst the dinasty of the island changed, venice would remain as de facto rulers of the island and genoa got an increase in intrests on their loans for philip. Philip on the other hand found ships and genoese mercenaries (including from genoas colonies in crimea, with rus people living there) to help him conquer the island. Therefore the battle explained.

Appollo, I have one question. Why is it that people place swordsmen on barricades when you can place them in front and put archers on top?

I remember this one siege battle I did with my friends it was a 3v3 and I was playing the kingdom of Jerusalem and I brought a whole bunch of crusaders and my friend wanted to cheese so his whole army was heavy shock cav and he wiped out a whole attackers army because they didn’t have any pikes it was a mix of crossbows and sword men’s

Apollo on third age total war can you do a giant free for all of every army but in every army is one of every unit in that category for instance the high elves will have one unit of spears one unit of palace guard etc. Same with other armies like Harad Rhun Gondor Dwarves Mordor and get as many of the armies as possible please Apollo? Also your videos are amazing!!! Keep up the great work

Apollo its not silly you can't go down the arrow towers when they're destroyed. If the tower collapses then so does the stairway down/up it

Imagine making a jerusalem with all the landmarks like the old city and its walls, the dome of rock,etc.

Challenge for you Pixie....on this map, play against Haxo, Rambler and Lionheart against yourself and Jackie, defending that part in the North, across the 2 bridges...IE the city have been taken, except for that small part....you must Hold at all costs
