My Taid (Gryff Thomas) was the fish warden for the Gwydyr estate for many years. He and Nain lived in Ivy Glen, across A470 from the Lledr Bridge. Taid helped build the first fishing shed just behind where this chap is standing. I cannot count the number of times I have stood on this same bank and watched the fishermen lay their flies skillfully on the black water.
jonathan horwell no I kept two and put the 3rd back we have a 6 fish limit a season and I kept 4 out of 16 so I do t need telling what to do but people do need to be made aware
@@MrCutters1 Thanks, I have a Hardy Marksman Spin 10-25gm and some bastard stole my reel. Need to buy a new one. Worm fishing is an art in itself. I fly fish for sea trout but love the bait fishing for salmon. Well done again.
Samuel Archer what a scum bag who ever had that off we’re you based you can’t go wrong with the bait runners good all round reel iv caught thousands of seatrout on the fly biggest 11lb at night now that is an art can’t record that though 😂🙈❤️❤️🎣🎣
Good work buddy! Its always tough when playing big fish in high water, they get the current on their flank and use it to their advantage, but you did everything like a pro even with the rookie mistake of not getting the head up for netting. Well done man!!
Ricky thank you ye I had a shocker that day with the net even with the first fish I had but they were the first fish of the year for me so I had an excuse haha only got better glad you enjoyed
A few of the Rivers Here in the North of Ireland are going that way but due to tourism and a few other factors most still allow to catch and kill.Catch and release is all well and good but on my local River there are men in there Seventies and Eighties that love to head up and fish the worm. They have done this their entire life We have no right to tell these men that it is Fly or Lure.Id like your thoughts on this my friend
stephen o neill me my self think you should be allowed and are still allowed to fish a single worm for the seatrout so can still get a salmon but I for sure will be taking my kids fishing on the worm when I’m older my dad done it for me an I’ll do it for them 👌❤️❤️🎣🎣
Sorry to say this, but worm fishing ruins the art of salmon/trout fishing, it’s just a way to easily catch fish for lazy people. Learn how to fly fish it’s so more exciting and safer for the environment.
TDK Official ok firstly I do fly fish for them and second would like to see you fly fishing in water like that and was the fist bit of fishing you ever did on the fly was it 😳❤️❤️🎣🎣
Welsh Salmon fishing sorry man I’m not hating, it’s just in my stretch of river (that I own as a farmer) I only let fly fishing allowed, but what do you Know? A group of guys trespassed into my stretched and completely fished it out. So I’m just still pretty upset about that, I just hope your fishing fairly.
TDK Official that’s why we’re we fish has river keepers and a good bunch of lads looking after the river 👌 so how you can say it’s bad for the environment to worm fish when your a farmer
A fly only wanker. Worming for salmon is great and takes skill. There's a guy on my river flings in a static worm and hopes for the best and has caught 1 in 30years. Where as others fish moving worm and catch regularly. Some people aren't able to physically fly fish all day either. Fishing is fishing no matter what you use, that's why we enjoy it
