You may be asking or wondering, for what did you buy a big metal exhaust fan? Where did you gonna use it? If you're not gonna use it and just let it laying in its box, for what? You better sold it away rather than keep it in your place without any usage. Okay okay, I know judging by how large the size of this fan is unsettling to any of you who may think about it, even I thought about the same thing. But there is the main reason why I bought this fan. This fan has been on my wishlist since I was in elementary school, exactly back when Panasonic still made them in grey before they change the color to white. Even I have ever talked about I wanted this fan a very long time ago in the description box of one of my old videos: • 16" Panasonic Industri... . I fell in love with this fan due to its design, and the sound it makes when it runs. I finally got one for myself after these years passed!
40AFU has been in production since the National era until this day. Yes, that is a very long time ago. Even this fan has been available in Japan since between the 1970s and 1980s. The design never changed from a few decades ago until this day, very timeless! The only downside with the Indonesian versions is the unbalanced blades. Two of the blades are strangely heavier than the other two which makes it vibrates a lot. You can hear that it vibrates quite loud with the shutters on. But fortunately, the materials feel quite solid that don't make it feels like a cheapened product. Another thing that disappoint me a bit is that I heard the newer 40AFU has a smaller motor, which makes the start-up a bit longer than the older ones, and what really makes me disappointed is that mine doesn't have a START-UP SOUND ANYMORE!! I know that's not the main role of this fan, but that start-up sound is the main character of this fan, and it's just why? Here's one example of the start-up sound that I meant: bit.ly/3jdwBBy. But don't worry, these disappointing things are not a big problem compared to the timeless design, and the cool sound it makes when it runs makes me fall in love with this fan! Although it won't be installed anytime soon and quite took a lot of space in my room, I never regretted spending a lot of money JUST for this huge a$$ buddy! I love it a lot!
Since KDK is a separate company of the Panasonic Corporation/Panasonic Ecology Systems Co. that has been a partnership since KDK joined a part of the Matsushita Conglomerate in 1956, a KDK version of this fan is available, the 40AAS!
