A little known fact, Steve Soto played bass with the Vandals way back in the day. Ask Jan Nils Ackerman. He founded the band with Stevo. Also notable bassists which are obscure who played with the Vandals: Tony Alva, Bob Emory (his brother plays guitar in TSOL). There are many more but Steve Soto had so much cred it was amazing.

RIP Steve Soto from The Adolescents was in this band. He played guitar for those of you who do not know.
