No disrespect meant here....but you obviously didn't grow up in Southern California or weren't really in the punk scene or you would never have made such a statement! First of all M.H. is comprised of respected/talented musicians from many different punk bands from Orange & LA Counties. The lead guitarist is Steve Soto from The Adolescents & other bands. Every band they cover is surely honored by them wanting to re-write the lyrics into Chicano lifestyle. They're just having fun w/stereotypes!
Negro terror is the only band I've heard in the last 30 years that can hold a candle. 3 piece all black, skrewdriver cover band. Punk rock af. Thanks for what you do.
If you listen to more of their songs you might get their point! They lyrics are brilliantly written! I've been seeing them play since they started doing shows. I'm also from the same OC Punk circles as them! If you have ever co-existed with any "Real Cholo's" you'd see the humor in it. BTW they've also done a Clash cover as well! Enjoy them for what they are!
One of my favorites on this compilation. When I was a kid I listened to it everyday. So on friday night I walked up to some mexican guy by the movie theatre and asked them what a Cholo is. They got kinda up tight and told I can't go around saying stuff like that. No harm was done but that's what happened.
We find out who fights the best, we start fight with those vatos from west tres, those damn vatos are so crazy though, ven mira en mi uncle's fighting gallo! Cholo life is the life I choose, sleep all day and I like brew, being a Cholo is my thing, Vida Loca, Órale! Woo Hoo! Ah hah ha hi, ha ha hi, orale! Ah hah hi! Party party! Cholo life is the life I choose, sleep all day and I like brew, being a Cholo is my thing, Vida Loca, Órale!... I never getting off the parole,
check out the band the singer (GABBY)was in long before this band.the" Cadillac tramps".all the guys in this band ,although in different bands at the time, started punk rock in so cal. they are the OG's as you would say.
My hero. Got the album at the show and over the years it got scratched. Zeds will never know the horror of such a thing to slowly lose what you love so much. They just cancel outright so they dont have to feel the pain.
@rncd91pnk im two years behind your question but manic hispanic covered the vandlas.. (i want to be a cowboy) a very popular song in the subculture of folerten california
how do you think the band with one of the greatest drummers of our generation is shit? That was just before he died too. whatever. I guess some people don't understand. -You'll be missed Rev
