10 wins is basically where most reasonable ND fans had us this season. We achieved that with this bowl win. Next year is Freeman’s third year, and ND coaches have historically done well their third year (Holtz won the Natty his 3rd year, and Kelly went to the Natty in his 3rd year.) With next year’s expanded format, I’d say that most Notre Dame Fans expect to make the playoffs next year. PS: Not all Bowl Games Are poorly attended. I was at this game, and the stadium was sold out!

As an Irish fan going into the year with that tough of a schedule I would have 100% signed up for 10 wins so I'd say it was a successful year

Not a good season but not a bad season. Freeman was really dealt a bad hand. Kelly and Rees couldn't recruit quarterback and wide receiver over the years. I do like the direction of the program under Freeman.

I do agree! ND qbs have been leaving, so it's hard to keep track, but if they can maintain their players, they have a good shot at the CFB playoffs

The new receivers coach and Dembrock coming back to coach have me feeling really good about where the offense is headed. Defense is solid and will stay that way next year.

This was basically nd 2nd string offense. They were missing Hartman at qb, estime rb, 4 wide receiver, only 1 starting lineman and missing starter tight end.

These bowl games have no significance. Notre Dame winning 40-8 means just as much as if they lost 40-8. Remember ND got crushed by Louisville and Clemson

Going 9-4 vs 10-3 does make a diff. What are you an fsu fan that lost by 60. We had 20 opt outs and still smoked #19 team. Will finish in top 12. Fool
