As a Dane I found this funny too, although Swedish and Danish have very different pronunciations despite being related languages. @barrydworak
@barrydworak Год назад
Back in the '60s, Sweden switched the entire country from driving on the left like the UK to driving on the right like most of continental Europe -- in one weekend! The logistics behind this are astounding. A country with that level of organization and initiative should be able to clean up the language so it doesn't need all those extra weird symbols. Just saying.

I’m an ENTJ and a busy college student and when I don’t have time to do something I call my mom to do it for me, who is also an ENTJ. My mom is a pre-k teacher and keeps a very busy life aside from that helping all 4 of us kids all the time, lol. If I see I can help her in some way when she’s busy and I’m not then I do and when she really needs help she makes the whole family help and tells us what specific task she wants each person to do and how she wants them to do it. She does things with us because she is afraid we’ll mess things up without her, but she calls in everyone so that we get it done much faster with more people. This reminds me of my best friend who is an ESFP. I’m an ENTJ and once we built furniture together and decided to split up the work since we had to put the tiny things together before we needed to move big things together one at a time. She is extremely extroverted, overconfident, and assertive. She said in the beginning, “I’ve got this just by looking at the pictures, I’ve worked around my dad’s job my whole life”. Her dad is a car mechanic. I told her I think you should really read it but she didn’t. Next thing I know, my part is done and me and our other friend are putting it together while she and another friend run to get food, and realizing we don’t have the screws we need because she used the wrong ones in earlier steps and that she also put screws and other things holding it together in the wrong places. So then we had to undo and redo nearly everything she did while she was out

Only problem was that I had to use the correct "name" of each screw to get it from "her store"... So we still use some of those terms! My INTP representation is absolutely right in that these things are a lot easier and straightforward when you just do it alone. Everything I put together solo, works fine, the one project I let my Dad help with, and the keyboard tray is wonky. I let it pass because I use that desk for my work laptop, and don't need/use the keyboard tray, but still, should've done it alone. And Mr. Perkins is ridiculously accurate. An old friend had a cat who loved boxes. We did watch him once spend 10 minutes squeezing himself into a box half his size, he successfully just about managed it. Proud of his commitment to his weird fascination with boxes

It's the first time since forever that I as an INFJ don't fit the image Frank has shown us and it's always near perfect. For a change I'm great with IKEA furniture, in the past I've always assembled them on my own for my parents, it was just fun exercise and a way to use tools I otherwise never even see. And IKEA isn't a maze, like you just follow the lines, it's a very non-linear path I will give you that, but it's one directional. Then again I'm great with maps and orientation, if I go anywhere on foot I can retrace my steps always and I mean always, no matter how many years ago it was. Comes handy during vacation and when playing games. But I can deffnitely see how others could have problems with either and just because I'm good at these things doesn't mean you have to, but then again I'm sure you can get there with just a little nudge.
@herbivi-cus5382
@herbivi-cus5382 Год назад
Same here, you decsribed my experience as well. INFJ and I love putting stuff together, and I'm good at following maps etc. It's just stereotypes what Frank puts on the videos, so I expected INFJ to be confused and overthinking one. It bores me sometimes but it's supposed to be a funny video, so. But when it comes to reality - I think skills like orientation and perception are barely influenced by personality. It just depends if you had an opportunity to develop those skills in your life or not. Some personalities are just driven to develop them, and some aren't. I always liked "real life puzzle" like fixing stuff and doing manual things like art.

I'm good at building ikea furniture and directions, but I agree with Frank in the sense that 1) ikea is a sensory overload and 2) I can put together furniture, but often someone else appears and does it for me, e.g., like a sibling. It's just a strategy. - INFJ
@Seca95
@Seca95 Год назад
I agree. I too enjoy assembling furniture and I am very good with maps and directions too, so much so that people call me a walking GPS, and I’m the one who holds the map on vacations etc. Sometimes it makes me doubt my MBTI and consider if I’m actually ISFJ. But I don’t feel like an Si dominant. Ni dom + Se inf define me better. But perhaps this thing with directions and assembling furniture can be explained with one’s enneagram too? -INFJ 6w5
@herbivi-cus5382
@herbivi-cus5382 Год назад
@@Seca95 It has almost nothing to do with personality, man. Niether MBTI, nor Ennagram. The skills you have are based on what you have learnt and what you've been taught, and your environment that shaped you and gave you opportunities. Also, if your parents were good at something you probably inhereted those skills, such as good perception skills or good math skills. Personality and cognitive skills (like IQ, perception, memory, attention) run in genes, but there're two totally different things. Personality can drive some people to explore and develop some skills, or make people like certain activities more than others, but it's not limiting anyone from what they can do. Personality is more about how you make decisions, not what skills you are good at. For your own good and peace of mind - there's no point searching for a personality explaination why you're good with certain skills. And there's no point doubting your personality if you don't fit a very simplified stereotype of it.

I'm not sure if I'm happy with that title, but both my INFP boyfriend and my ESTJ mom look at the first page of a booklet and call it quits. At least my boyfriend and I end up collabing when it becomes too hard; but my mom will never, in a million years, try to at least put some effort into understanding any steps on how to build this furniture. It just gets delegated to me😔 To make this more enjoyable, I just call it my "me time", and put music while I build it (also oddly enough, I get paranoid that if I don't do it myself, it will come out wrong - so there's that fun little addittion in the mix😥)

I have built most things by myself , I would have built all things if I didn't had parents who have told me I can hurt myself if I do it alone so they leave me with no other choice then letting them help me. But I have built things where it usually show two people, like big shelves, tables, beds, chairs, a couch, and so much more and I have had no problem. I enjoy building furniters but only alone because other people often do something wrong or they get so angry at the furniture that it stresses me out, I can't deal with that 😅
