The INFP part was pretty accurate in terms of the way I(an INFP) typically start a conversation. I just ask the question about a topic that I wanna discuss, hear their answer, maybe ask some follow-up questions and then just talk about my view on it. And it sometimes feels like I'm the one that's talking 90% of the time.

@jhemp
@jhemp 9 месяцев назад
@youtubecommentergal4346 The trick is self control. INTJs like all types experience emotions. In my case, I just prioritize the job or getting stuff done over dealing with my emotions, because I recognize my emotions are caused by some event. If I don't "feel" good then I change what caused that feeling and by extention the feeling goes away. Feelings are almost always counterproductive in problem solving and they hurt your objectivity. Acknowledging this helps you discount irrelevant feelings and deal with the task at hand. The other thing is that you accept that it's unimportant what others think about you. If you want to stick out or impress people, you don't "fake" success you just live a life in a way that others would strive to emulate. There's no need to call yourself the best salesman on a team, just sell the most product and take on the toughest clients, and it'll show. Don't call yourself the smartest ever, just don't be stupid... This concept is somewhat foreign to me, because I really only care that I'm a better person than I was yesterday. Everyone else's opinion of me is meaningless. If I can't meet my expectations for myself I am woefully inadequate and I don't need anyone else to tell me that. Emotions also blunt otherwise genuine criticism and make it difficult to always draw the real meaning from the conversation. Just say my acting sucked because my voice was inconsistent and my face failed to accurately express my characters intention, or that my experiment is invalid because of confounding variables, etc. Trying to not hurt my feelings just wastes both our time. In case you haven't picked up on my initial point, it's not that you need to change how you feel, it's that you have to prioritize logic over emotion, and most importantly find the rationale that let's you follow through. Despite how this sounds, I do have lazy days and days where I don't feel well, but ultimately my will has to exceed the agents of stagnation in my life for me to be the best human I can be. This process and refining of will is not always a linear path, but as I continue and grow it becomes easier.
@jhemp
@jhemp 9 месяцев назад
@youtubecommentergal4346 Recognize you will have thoughts that pop in your head, and you've got to be able to sort out the delusions, but if you keep at it eventually it gets easier. Also, despite the elitism normally associated with INTJs, don't just assume you haven't got strengths of your own to lean into. No one type is infallible or without weaknesses. It's okay to take my advice, and it's okay to strive to get better, but no two paths in life are exactly the same. Don't get hung up on failures. Just try something new. The real lessons are to have realistic expectations of yourself and not fall into a habit of deluding yourself that you inferior to others in every way. Pair this with other qualities you want to exhibit, such as temperance, and just be genuine, and the rest will follow. There's nothing wrong with feeling your emotions. It's just how you let those emotions control you that can stress you or those around you out. Lastly, don't assume everything in the MBTI universe is completely solved or fact beyond debate. There's a lot of useful info there, but it is neither an excuse to be an asshole or a guidebook that gives you everything you need to know. It can and is often debated. Sometimes you won't fit perfectly into the little box people want to put you in, and that's okay. No one has an identical experience to another person, and to expect all people to be the same is extremely shortsighted. You seem like a relatively self-aware individual, so I have shared a bit more than my usual. Don't let others control the direction of your life and don't strive to be a carbon copy of someone else. Find what you want to stand for and strive to be unrivaled in that decision. Be the change you want to see in the world, be the actions that guides the world into tomorrow, and be foundation on which the future is built.

@@youtubecommentergal4346 Not trying to be rude or anything but just ask the question, mate. OP might not want to spend time granting you permission to ask them something you could've asked them from the get-go. it wouldn't be rude of you, it's just the efficiency of virtual conversation. This isn't a chatroom after all. Also, if the question doesn't pertain to a thing that is specifically and exclusively related to OP, someone else with a similar type or whatever relates to your question can chime in immediately. Which they won't if you ask a specific person whether asking them a question is okay. So even if OP never returns to this conversation, you could still get something out of it. Edit: for the sake of "pseudo"-schience I'll add that I'm something between ISTJ, ISFJ or INTP depending on which test you wanna believe. I'm curious if this type of reply and wording fits one of them boxes, haha.
@proudtobeme1ashkente
@proudtobeme1ashkente 9 месяцев назад
@@youtubecommentergal4346 Ah, I see what you mean. Well, OP didn't really say that. Frank's impression of an INTJ said that. While OP said the impression was very accurate, they didn't say it was 100% true or spot-on, so there's still room for interpretation of which parts pertain to that perceived accuracy. What I got from their comment is that within the specific scenario of a job interview, they don't like wasting time or words on unworthy candidates. Which is really completely different from this scenario of a comments section under an MBTI video, used for discussion, opinion sharing etc. I kinda understand why people relate to the MBTI types so much and I find them fun myself, but I think it sometimes leads to forgetting that we're all individuals, so we shouldn't put words of one person of a certain type into other people's or our own mouths unless we know they or we really think the same. Anyway, relating to your question, I can give my opinion on it though I don't have THE solution. If you'd like you could give an exact example of an emotionally resonant situation that frustrates/frustrated you. Generally, do you know how to follow the red string of emotion to its source within you? Or do you only feel it and don't know what to do with it? I wanna say, emotions by themselves are not bad or something to be ashamed of, even when they seem unnecessarily strong. For some people, strong emotions are a source of almost inexhaustible energy and motivation. I'm sure your emotions have aided your or other people before and I hope you never forget about those instances. In the end you don't need to be unemotional or less emotional, you just need to learn to harness positive energy from your emotions and I think knowing their source is the first step to doing so.

As an INTP, I can explain things very well, but ONLY if I've had like at least a week minimum to think through exactly what I'm going to say, because then I can make iterative refinements to the parts which are not clear and think through different scenarios of how someone might misunderstand what I would say or how somebody might lack the necessary background knowledge and how I should add that in. In the end I'll end up with the best presentation I can of some topic. I have been praised many times for my clarity when presenting something. But that is ONLY when I have a long time to prepare. INTJ here. I've conducted many interviews for potential employees. I cracked up when he asked the interviewee if he had questions for the interviewer. I always saw that as the most important part of the interview. I wanted to know if the interviewee was capable of taking initiative and performing research on the company where he wanted to work. I would hire or not hire based on their response to the question, "Do you have any questions for me?" So that was hilariously spot-on!!

Some of us just wanna do their job and do it well, to be fair. I get praise at my jobs for being friendly, accommodating, a commendable co-worker but I couldn't tell you much about either company. Sure, I work lower-level jobs but even for a higher position, isn't it still more important to understand how to do you job well than for whom? What are the benefits of the latter that makes it an imperative question to base hiring decisions on?
@VeryTori
@VeryTori 9 месяцев назад
I'm an ENFP. I do try to have at least 1-2 questions for that section, but more often than not, I just ask my questions as they pop up, because I am thinking about it, want to get the answer to better understand what the interviewer is saying, and feel it is more efficient and practical to get it out of the way and clear miscommunication early, rather than let it linger, wait till the end to clear up, and potentially either miss information because of the question, or forget the question because I want to focus on the conversation. I just ask questions straight away, which then leads to me having at most 1-2 questions at the end. Sometimes I don't have questions at the end because the interviewer communicated so thoroughly, and I asked questions earlier.
@kristae.7686
@kristae.7686 9 месяцев назад
Doing research and having questions are not the same thing, however. Almost every business thinks it runs differently, but due to isomorphism, they rarely do. Just by putting so much emphasis on a routine question shows as well that your business is no different. Hiring or not based primarily on that question shows that you only hire people who follow the status quo of what they "should" do and those who think exactly like you which doesn't lead to a diversified workforce. - Fellow INTJ

My boss once actually went to hide in the break area and gave me their client they didn't feel like dealing with.

The intp one is so deathly accurate. The multiple interconnected chains of thoughts, struggling to prioritise and select relevant information, brain dumping and still not being able to relay your thoughts correctly because being even a little vague feels like you're blatantly lying.
@insidiator5461
@insidiator5461 9 месяцев назад
I wrote an entire tangent in response to this, then realized I could just sum it up into 'relatable'. Still, it's a pain when people say 'you didn't need to tell me all that just to say []), cutting it all down to the generalization I would have made- one that lacks key points of understanding. It's difficult to narrow it down and still be specific, even though I understand that the full scope of information really isn't necessary or efficient. It seems like it's a luxury to most people... that's just no fun to me though, I can't find it in me to accept something so stifling. This might be why INTPs are known as being stubborn and eccentric. The information is important, but I guess we might treasure it a little too much. ...this wasn't the tangent I wrote before, but at least it's shorter. Your comment hit quite close to home- generalizing feels like lying, even if you're only omitting truth. I've found it healthier to accept the consequences of being inefficient and long-winded to others. It got 10x easier as I picked up a few tricks- instead of choosing the most relevant information, I just tell them all of it. I don't skip context as often now, but it still happens. So, problem... slightly improved :D

Just now, they asked me again and i denied, saying that i got sick last time i ate street food. They asked me: are you sure it was the reason? I said yes. Now, i got sick AFTER eating that. There is no concrete proof that it was the cause. But before eating that, i was fine. There's a fair chance that it was the reason, but I'll never know. Thank you for humbly admitting this… it’s true. INFP’s emotionally dump on someone they trust… or go on and on about their self values…it’s their dopamine hit when they feel safe to express themselves! I adore INFP’s gentle and kind souls but as an INFJ, I find Fi blasts to be draining and annoying at it’s worst 😱 I understand, I’m never to offer obvious solutions…or my counsel unless INFP asks! This interaction style doesn’t feel like connection to me…but I sit in silence and endure it…knowing, INFPs long to feel seen/heard. I can gift a safe space. I just can’t be a sponge for the emotion too often or I burn out and become resentful. Ive learned to assert a boundary…INFP’s make it easier for me to practice radical honesty 🫶🏼and avoid using a door slam or fade away tactic… During these Fi dom exchanges, I’m hyper aware that we share no cognitive functions! I’m in my head wondering how people get us confused? It doesn’t make sense that we are a common mistype!?! INFP: I feel, I feel, I feel, I feel…often a one way conversation… I think INFJs create an experience or atmosphere with harmonious feeling… it’s a safe space as long as you show mutual love & respect…I prefer Intuition & Ti or Te convos… That’s been my experience with INFPs💞 I cherish them as I can trust them with my heart…I hope they feel the same! 💓stay Wild & free INFP!

I'm an INTJ and frankly. Interviewing and being interviewed does not come naturally to me. Its an intense time for me. I have to prepare a lot and be very repetitive in my practice preparation time. The issue for me is that I HATE: sucking up to people, being giddy and smiley, pretending I'm passionate about something (nobody is actually fully passionate about any job), making small talk, being in presence of people interrogating me or vice versa, and the list goes on. I mean. Pretty much you see the entire process is a headache for me. So instead, I am very careful about what I apply to so I actually say what's on my mind. But prior to that I practice being polite and gracious so I won't be tense and mechanical as I would be if I didn't mentally prepare. Geez. That's long. Sorry for the rant.

As an INFJ I hate both doing and giving interviews lol. And I dream about work a lot too. 😅

I do too!!! The tell me about yourself question, do you want to know how I am at work, my work history, my hobbies, that I think abstractly and can't verbalize it? What?!?! What are you actually asking?!?! lol

As an ENFJ, I’d tend to ask more about how the candidate aligns with the organization’s mission 😅

I always love how especially unhinged the ESTJ and ENTP portrayals are. 😂 -ISTJ who also would not hire someone over a spelling mistake such as that. 😆

I like seeing what triggers the ENTJs and the ESTPs. Also I’m fascinated by ENFPs, I love their chaotic brains. But I could never live with one lol.

I feel personally a bit mocked. ISTJs aren’t all the time that pedantic! 😉
@SKZ-SAURUS

@@ThePetaaaaa Well,no one said ISTJ’s are pedantic all the time,but when someone says they are detail oriented and couldn’t even manage to spell that right or double/triple check their spellings an ISTJ will notice and inform. One can’t be detail oriented without being detail oriented. 😉

I’m an intj and calling out anyone including my boss doing things wrong is what I’m known for at work. I don’t look for the mistakes they just jump out at me (accountant)
@SKZ-SAURUS
@SKZ-SAURUS 9 месяцев назад
@@Flutterbyby I know right? Truth be told I always notice the smallest mistakes but I rarely correct or call out people,unless a person says they’re good or excellent at something then do it wrong,I won’t sugarcoat,I’ll be blunt. In most cases I just see the mistakes and take care of them myself,also very normal to correct people when they’re wrong.
