16 Updates That Might Be In Minecraft 1.20! 

The reason glow berries dont make you glow is probably because of the technical difficulties of bedrock edition. If you didnt know, spectral arrows aren't in bedrock because of some sort of difficulty technically, so yeah.

Wouldnt it be funny if the trailer is two players trying to light the sculk portal and then they get into an argument on how to light it so they start fighting and it's the combat update. Would be quite a troll on the player-base. Totally agree though, they need some time to flesh out a new dimension, this will be a smaller update, but defense not bee level small.

The “Storage & Forage” update has a nice ring to it

We should get a pet update . Pets are awesome, making you feel less alone in singleplayer and making the world feel more alive. What if we got new pets? Or could tame more existing mobs like rabbits and farm animals? Maybe they could have like a mood bar, depending on how often you interact with them or feed them.

I often said that gold and copper need more usages, so a gold hopper or copper hopper that has a filter slot would be very welcome.

The desert could be a biome with MANY structures, like a propper Pyramid, a Crypt, a burried temple with the halls filled with sand so you must dig through them, and more

i really hope we get mob variants. I would love to see goats and cows in different colors and shapes, or probably an ender skeleton that flies in the air and basically divebombs you with an e iron sword

Maybe an upgrade to the minecraft boats. Bigger boats so we can put chests or other redstone items on. If we can have bigger (might be stretching it: customisable boats) that would also look awesome in builds, especially ones with a dock.

For me, I miss the stone chests that were shown in concept art. Such a missed opportunity, it really fit the biome and added more anxiety to ancient cities. If the teased dimension appears, it should have stone chests. A crafting recipe (an expensive one, maybe it stores differently to a normal chest) would be great.

I think the end update is the best thing they can go with

I've been thinking this for a while but I think there should be a neck slot. Hear me out, that would be where you keep a totem of undying or perhaps a new type of item. it's so annoying not being able to use my shield/torch because I have the totem there, it makes the off hand pretty much never used because there's practically no situation where you would want to risk taking it off.

Maybe they can make a potion of silence with an echo shard

I wish they would add some functionality to the bat. Give it some way to interacte with players builds, similar to how they get into attics in real life. Would also love to see them become breedable by players with glow berries

I really wish there would be an audio update because nomatter how beautiful scenery or caves are they will always feel dead with next to no sound. Just simple echo or ambient noises would transform the game

I think making old features more enjoyable is far better than just adding new blocks or random structures!

In Bedrock, you can use hoppers on a jukebox.

Another thing the offhand can do: Minimap. Get a map, use it, put it in your offhand. The map shrinks and stays in the corner, and still updates based on your position. Works best when completed, and great for large city builds so you can find your way around.

6:42 - I totally agree, especially since the original reason to make Minecarts slow was so that chunk loading could keep up with them. Chunk loading is no longer a concern with Minecarts, so why can't we speed them up? On the other hand, this would break a lot of Redstone builds. Maybe add a Diamond Minecart (hello DanTDM) that goes faster and leave the old one the same for the technical community?

4:15 I agree that more uses would be great... especially on Bedrock, where you are _even more_ limited in what you can do with your second hand!

If there were an end update, I would love to see a sort of end whale! Maybe they could allow players to ride them to different end cities if we freed them from some sort of sculk infection?

End update, they should make it so falling in the void spawns you build limit in the overworld, so that you have a chance to get your items back. Also makes the recovery compass useful since who knows where you fell from. It would make end raids less stressful and so dependent on getting elytra, making any biome they put there so much cooler.

What they could do for fletching tables is let players use different materials to have the actual tip of the arrow do different things and even let players use it to craft tipped arrows. Like let's say tnt tipped arrows does tiny splash damage and doesnt blow up blocks

I would love to see some biodiversity in the End. It would give a bit more life to that dimension.

An End update would be cool but it's important they keep the vibe of it being "barren". They could do so much with adding more floating islands, more structures, and even biomes. I would especially love some kind of netherite equivalent INSIDE of the end islands, there has never been a reason to mine through the islands except for wanting endstone. That feeling of "this place is desolate" should be kept intact. Also elytras are broken so a nerf to them would be nice, once you find one elytra nothing is stopping you from flying past the end city and just looting more end ships

I liked the addition of piglins as an neutral mob that is a danger at first, but when approached cautiously, they can be bartered with. What if they did something similar with the end. My idea would be to add ravens or some bird to the end that can carry you across gaps, but if you attack them, they will knock you off. Since ravens like shiny objects, you could give them a diamond and then they would follow you like a pet. This would be a great way of adding mobility to the end before finding an elytra, but also a neat mob interaction with a mixture of usefulness and danger.

Lately, Mojang has been adding a lot of new music disks. I think Mojang should add 1 new music disc for each update, i think this would be pretty cool

For an air strider idea I'd think more like a voidwalker, they can walk on the void but only at the lowest layer at which you don't take damage, being layer 0. You'd find small islands at the very bottom of the End, with voidwalkers roaming around, saddle one and use a chorus fruit on a stick and you can stride the deepest parts of the end to get around the end...somewhat easily.

I personally think they should increase the stack size from 64 to 128, and for the items that stack by 16, increase that to 32. Just doubling both would be plenty.

I love the idea of a rail speed boost would make getting around faster and making rollercoasters more fun however you said u wanted to see more uses for ancient city loot so it might be cool if you could use echo shards to make echo rails making them like the speed of sound (probably not the speed of sound but still faster)both ideas are good tho

there should be a weather update like sandstorms tornados and in commands not just have snow in cold biomes would be cool

Having an end update would probably be the easiest way to make everyone genuinely excited. I feel what they added is just..more plains features

If you want jukebox powered by hoppers ask for parity. It's on bedrock.

Part of me wishes for an update where they don't tell us what the update is and we simply have to explore to find out what is different kind of like a treasure hunt. I would honestly like a backpack, a sort of wearable chest(not an enderchest)in the way that what you leave in it stays in it. So if you put food in a red one you have to have that red one to access it. Maybe it holds as much as a single chest, can store shulkers, but to keep it fair if you fall in lava buh bye. Or maybe an auto equip for totems. If I have six on me and use one another should auto equip. I think this will be useful for Hardcore players.

Some more ideas for Minecraft: skulk biomes that aren’t just underground but effect the surface too, skulk water that can be used in potions, city entrances in skulk biomes. Mobs that die on sulk turn into hostile zombies even if they where originally peaceful End strider with a super jump to get you from island to island Climbing ropes/hanging ladders Dyed leaves More berry variations (poison berries, blueberries ect) Ability to lead a cat to a witch which makes them peaceful and unlocks an ability to trade with them Biome specific wandering traders with biome specific items More wearable items More golems (Imagine a sand golem that you could build in the desert temple, a jungle golem you could only build in the jungle temple ect) Ability to make the animal you’re riding jump even if it’s not a horse Dyed eletya Potions recipe book (maybe you’d have to steal it from a witch or get it from a swamp trader)

End ores I think that’s what I want to see the most in an end update new ores new stuff to craft but that’s probably unlikely because if they make a new one for the end they probably have to add a armor and weapons set.

A working mailbox would be awesome. Being able to trade items with other players from thousands of blocks away.

I think they need to take a step back and make it was we can have more options to build with. The past blocks like quartz, doesn't even have a wall version, or smooth stone not having a staircase. Or not having smooth andesite walls. Alot of the past blocks could be so much more varied. The stonecutter could have a wood version which allows you to pick the shape if the trapdoors. That would be so cool. Concrete just comes in blocks. What about slabs, stairs, walls. That would add so much for us. Alot of the past blocks are just left unloved, so maybe they need it

Storage idea: You could have inventory pages. Like in a chest, one inventory page is full and then you go onto the next inventory page and it’s empty, and inventory pages could be expanded in a chest by adding more wood to make the chest larger in storage space. Kinda like adding more paper to a map.

A Skulk or End ORE!?

Great video! I'm expecting 1.20 to be a sort of 2.0 update, with alot of quality of life and some big gameplay changes.

I do agree that the jungle temples should be updated, but I don’t think they should have a totem of undying in them, as that’s one of the main reasons to do raids and go to woodland mansion. It’s a high risk high reward sort of system, and just having them laying around in some empty temple in the jungle kind of ruins the whole point of going to the woodland mansions.

Off hand holding a bird like a parrot may be a cute addition as sometimes, one can forget your budgie friend is on your shoulder. That is until you jump down and the bird flies off all willy nilly. Having the arm there to hold the feathered friend better would be a very nice touch to go adventuring and still see the parrot in a small part of the screen (with a setting to disable it, if anyone does not want to see the bird, but still know its there in the inventory slot).

This video is something, I agree with. Defintly an inventory update since its always getting full, the minecart is way too slow compared to other transportation, the end is kinda empty.. Hope that archeology also comes in the game..

We definitely need a dungeon update. Maybe we keep the box, but add variants/levels of dungeon you can find.

They could make echo shards armor pieces that has the same armor rating as gold armor but is as durable as iron armor and reduces sonic boom damage from warden and negates the knockback effect. And for glowberry, they can add a new potion made of glowberry which negates the darkness effect inflicted by the warden.

A good use for the echo shards may be having the ability to add it to your tools or armor to make it so skulk sensors and shrikes won't detect you but it is as weak as Iron or something

I would like charms to be added to Minecraft. Like mini-awards for players. Like if they discover a jungle temple they have the chance to find a Spider Charm! Which could allow players to climb the side of the walls. Yet they can only have one charm on at all times. They are rare and fun collectables.

I think it would be intresting for echo shards to be required to craft totems of undying, and evokers drop a shell or something needed to craft a totem instead of the actual totem. It would make it much harder to mass produce, and it would make fights on servers much more quicker and more enjoyable.

I’d love to see an update where mobs can hold shields and use axe’s to crit players instead of just it being like. Axe crit. Axe crit. Axe crit. Yay I win. That would make me happy to fight mobs and give you a reason to get netherite armor other than pvp. It would also make the combat put you on your toes more and learn strategies to fight mobs in certain ways and new weapons to give you and the mobs that have more range or damage or even stun would make Minecraft’s combat super fun exciting and would be probably one of the best updates ever. Final note here many Minecraft pros say the hardcore isn’t that hard and I think this update would give the a bigger run for their money.

The fact that this video came out over a year ago and nothing new has been added to Minecraft is crazy

First thing being an Inventory update is something we need, and a structure update is one I want desperately lol, like I was thinking the wild update was going to be that ngl with the Ancient City being a focus but having a couple of other updated structures to show off the capabilities of modern minecraft generation. Overall this video is very well made and I love basically all the ideas you brought up, the only ideas I am iffy on are the hostile mobs and the obvious Deep Dark Portal. Personally I think 1.20 is the small update before the next ambitious update like older updates, and hopefully with that in mind they fix bedrock to be playable on singleplayer instead of it being a glitchy mess, they need less new mobs and more fixing what we have or what has been spoken about already. For PR reasons I think touching the Birch Forest or forests in general would be good with a seondary thing of like one of the biome votes getting their addition or like a fix on certain mobs that haven't been touched since their release, like the Phantom. That is what I hope is coming for 1.20 but its less likely. For a big update I would love to see an update to the end similar to the Nether or possibly a secondary Nether Update to add to the updating ideas like creating a tree that has variants in the nether and overworld, like create a grey wood type like Ash wood, with it being based on like the Witchwood Ash where it would grow in Badlands and would be able to grow in the nether to get a sort of ashlands biome to round off the Nether biomes and when Ash trees grow there it creates a sort of burned looking wood type where when its leaf equivalent decays it has a low chance of dropping Charcoal. A desert update and transportation update are updates I also have ideas on like having rare above ground structures of abandoned railways and different ideas of like a version of that structure being above Mineshafts and whatnot or with the Deserts have it be focused on the Deserts and Badlands but also add enviroments like Australlia and Arizona where there can be even more building blocks like adding Mesquite Trees and Caliche with even a neutral mob being right there with Tarantula Hawks to which would hunt spiders and possibly they can be tamable using spider eyes or flowers or something so you can have a giant blue wasp to follow you. I would just love if Arizona aspects got to be added to the game, but ultimately I feel a bug update should be had before anything like that.

I think it would be cool to add a potion to allow you to have mob X-ray or like ore X-ray for a limited time and distance.

I swear I hope they dont touch the dungeon its such a great thing for beginners since it provides some loot but its fairly easy to run

I have an idea for the minecarts: they should be able to be driven faster by new furnaces made specifically to burn coal, charcoal, logs, and more to drive the minecarts faster.

I agree with a lot of things you said here, but there are things i dont think Mojang will add : - A dimension with the deep dark portal : to me it's just here to show off, or lore stuff, i dont think they'll add anything about it since this portal-looking structure looks way more advanced than the current portals we know. - Echo shards : i think the new compass is more than enough, considering how op it is to go back to our previous death location. It may be a waste to create a material only to craft one item but they already did that with shulker shells so... - Faster Minecarts : going from A point to B point fast is something that, i think, everyone wishes in a survival game but traveling is also a part of them. Plus we already have a lot of options to travel : Nether, Minecarts, Horses, Swiftness Potions, Enderpearls. If you place rails in the nether and be careful enough that's already incredibly fast. - End Update : When i enter the Second End, i feel in constant danger of falling in the abyss, but this dimension is also very rewarding (Elytras & Shulker boxes), i think if they ever were to add structures & such in the End that would ruin that dangerous feeling and the satisfaction of getting what we came here for. Plus we already got an End Update, we should let other biomes get their updates too (like the Desert, as you mentionned).

I wouldn't mind chest/storage buffs by using hard to get resources to improve or craft storage. Perhaps that gives us a reason to do more challenging things like raid Woodland mansions or Ancient Cities. A sorting block would be great - perhaps as an improvement to existing hoppers (a sorting hopper).

I just want an “advanced” hopper. It works exactly as a regular hopper. Same speed, but moves stacks at a time, instead of individual items. Effectively making hoppers 64x faster. The recipe would be same as a normal hopper, but a regular hopper in place of the chest, and maybe gold/copper in place of iron.

What if they the end better as an empty canvas rather than making it a better dimension. have ways to manipulate the biomes of the end. What about being able to make better farms there? Finding glitched dungeons with a pig spawner to get a better food farm. Embrace the void.

Update the dungeon so that there are tripwire attached to dispensers. Upgrade the well so you can find items under it, like cooked fish, water buckets, apples, rotten flesh, and iron nuggets. Nothing big.

If they ever dungeons I'd be kinda sad, but would understand why. They are extremely nostalgic for me and give me so many fond memories of the first time I found one back in 2010-2011

I will always hope for rideable dragons from the end. Plus I like the theory that Jean (cannon name for the ender dragon) is a mom protecting her child (the egg). So why not have her be the last ADULT dragon protecting the young from this being from another world (the player)

Every dimension has already been updated tho, in 1.9, when the elytra was added, that update added the chorus fruit and end cities, sure it was a small update, but it was still considered the END UPDATE, we just got a major update to the overworld, and we got a nether update not too long ago.

it would be cool if you could attach a echo shard to an arrow and then shoot it with a bow, then when it hits something, the shard wil break and all the energy in it releases, creating a loud bang and flash that desorientates/stuns mobs while also acting like a flashbang for players. i think it would create a fun new aspect to pvp with more tactical gameplay in mind

Here’s an idea if you want to build with you and blocked you some Purpur any and some variance and rods with any nether stuff deep sleep and quartz blocks depending on how you can find these and maybe some prism marine if you want to be extra you can create your own anything I’ve created some amazing sky bases underground bases bases that are hidden in plain sight I’ve made some villager houses like this I’m a dog houses I made a farmhouse the unblocked I like to use because they’re a purple block that like is in squares like I know we have like purple concrete but like I love prison marine the end Stone bricks are really useful if you want to get like that yellow but not so bright yellow but I think we are super overdue for an end update it may be an ocean update part two but enough of me talking

The desert well actually has a cool feature. If you find one, there's a pretty high chance of a desert temple or village to be 100 or less blocks away from it in any direction. Unless that's only on bedrock.

Another thing that I think would be a nice change would be more uses for copper. I mean, it’s a nice block and you can make a telescope with it, but other than that it just feels like something else to fill up your inventory while you’re mining.

I think it'd be super cool if Amethysts and Echo Shards could become equip able items that could give the player unique magical properties similar to enchantments and potions.

You can already shoot a crossbow in your offhand 👍 If you can't right-click with your mainland, it then checks to see if you can do it with your offhand. I'd rather have an extra keybinding added to toggle which hand is given right click priority, that way we can finally combine a shield and trident without the shield being useless.
