Sad to hear this going on in modern times. But if in fact the countries have laws protecting young underage girls, then the root cause is the government and the agencies accountable for protecting them. If there are no laws then it is an accepted custom (accepted because the men are not brought to justice). There are international organizations that can help, but they must go through the government, and if the government is not inclined to help then the problem continues to manifest into an accepted and customary norm. Hope this video raises awareness to put enough pressure on the government to enact/enforce laws. Here in the US this would be life in prison without parole.
Moral of the story is sick villages raise sick boys and girls. Invest in raising healthy families (not single parenting) and this issue will be resolved.
They do it because they are looking for a father figure and someone who they feel also gives them stability and guidance. This is nothing new and I do not endorse it in anyway but understand it. Growing up I knew several females in their late teens or early 20´s dealing with guys in their 50´s and above. If there is no male father figure around to help guide them this is what will happen. I remember when I use to drive to pick up my young son from school and as I was parked a young girl motioned to me to get my attention I was shocked and promptly got my son and drove off this was back in the 90´s so as said this is nothing new. I wasnt trying to catch a case then and not trying to now. I am very proud of the ones I said no too!
