Silvio Rentsch, 16 years from Switzerland performed "In The Mood" arranged by Jerry Lee Lewis and supported by Dave Ruosch. Recorded live in Uster during the 10th International Boogie Nights.
Jerry Lee would be proud of you! Great job. By the way, Jerry Lee recorded it "The Hawk" instead of his name because radio stations were refusing to air his music.
To correct "In the mood" is composed by Glenn Miller, 1930, long before Jerry Lee Lewis made his own version of. Still the boy is well playing and at this age on the way to his style. Thumb up.
It’s like he’s reading the notes but doesn’t have the soul of boogie-woogie. He’s off beat and way too rigid. He’s playing the same style as Jerry Lee Lewis, but not like him yet. I just recommend he listens to the song he’s covering because those songs were more like learning them by ear and getting the feel of it. They weren’t reading sheet music with the boogie Woogie. He’s definitely on his way though and very talented. He should’ve just picked a different song that he had in his heart….. I just watched it again and he’s really good. Just that main “what’d I say riff.” But with boogie-woogie is played off kilter not right on the beat. Gotta have it in your soul.
