My fave almonds include L'Eau Couture by Elie Saab, Armani Code Cashmere by Giorgio Armani, Italica by Xerjoff, Rose Arabia Almond by WIDIAN, Le Baiser Du Dragon by Cartier, and Pepe Jeans for Her by Pepe Jeans. 💜
Very interesting perfumes mentioned. But one that should have been mentioned & I recently got is Prada infusion de Almond. Wow, very smooth & milky. The dry down is phenomenal because the almond scent lingers!! ❤
The only fragrance I have with almonds is Pegasus by Parfums De Marly. It's definitely one of my favorites from that house, and it smells fabulous. The almonds pairs well with the other notes. Quite resplendent.
Have you tried Almond Harmony from The House of Oud? Probably the best almond prominent fragrance I ever tried, it’s just so delicious and highly addictive…
Swear to God..was just thinking of almond perfumes. I'm on the hunt for a good one after receiving some indie perfumes in the mail that are surprisingly good!! Been wanting to try italica but so many reviews say it doesn't last long at all. That's the most important thing to me..which is why I own alot of extraits.
Do an updated video on Vetiver Sebastian! It has been a while since your last one. The Inimitable William Penhaligon came out and you are most certainly aware of many other new creations, discoveries from other houses as well
Absolutely love this note in fragrances. Thank you - our tastes are very similar, so I am always interested in your recommendations and have purchased so many because of you!
About new notes, you have to plan a video on the new collection from l'artisan parfumeur, with vegetable notes! Sounds fascinating! Thanks again for the great content, always inspiring.
@@paulb2995 Hummm. It's pretty avant garde, I haven't smelled anything like that yet... But check out this new collection, L'artisan parfumeur makes great fragrances, certainly we will hear more about it!
Personally I love very much Heliotrope perfumes, the ones by Oriza L. Legrand and Etro are my favorites. Since I adore flowers I would like to see reviews on yellow flowers or tropical flowers in perfumery. Thank’s.
My favourite almonds scent, actually one of my favourite scents in general, is Florentina by Sylvaine Delacourte. Powdery almond with heliotrope and violet - DELICIOUS
Omg, almond is one of my favorite notes. L'Occitane Almond Body Oil is so amazing and I wish they'd create a perfume just like it. I need to sample some of the ones you talk about here . You are great at describing perfumes!
I probably know half of the fragrances on your list, but I enjoy only Borea and Rolling in love. For me almonds in fragrances are more a miss because they give me a headache, especially something like Italica. I do like hazelnuts or something that give me Nutella vibes. By the way, have you seen that L'artisan Parfumeur has came with some new fragrances: Cedrat ceruse, Vetiver ecarlate, Musc amarante, Iris de gris and Tonka blanc ( they have some "peculiar" notes )? Thank you for the video!
If you like the almond note you HAVE to try Mandorla del Sud by Simone Andreoli, it's a dry almond, like the ones with peel, with a hint of sugar (also dry), I would say not gourmand, and it's totally unisex, you would love it! Wow, it's hard describing a fragrance in English! 🥵🥵🥵🤭🤭🤭 Greetings from Italy, Sebastian! 😄
I recently got a decant of Carner Barcelona Tardes which has a prominent almond note and I really enjoy it. I would love to see a licorice/anise/wormwood/artemisia note video. I also tend to love angelica and would like to see that as a featured note too. Thanks!
You were thinking about Amaretto and Amaretti (the former is a liqueur and the latter are almond biscuits). The other Italian almond biscuits are called Cantucci, from Tuscany, which is traditionally made to be dipped in a liqueur called Vin Santo. My favourite almond fragrance is Dior Hypnotic Poison (still have an original bottle from early 2000s). The unexpected almond fragrance I like is Fragonard Rose Ambre (please feature this house more, it’s so overlooked). As for notes, I can’t get enough of iris, dry notes (juniper and papyrus), booze (beyond rum and other dark liqueur), and synthetic molecules. And basically anything unusual.
yes I do enjoy a good almond note in fragrance. Hilde soliani has Coneffot which I like, Amande Sucree by I forget who right now but it is fab, and of course Alessandro by Mazzolari, honey and almond and vanilla. very chic.
Guerlain does a superb job including almond notes in their fragrances. Realistic and not too sweet(others can turn into marzipan quickly, nothing wrong with that just not for me). One that was a recent surprise is Versace’s The Dreamer. Don’t think it’s an official almond note, but I think the opening has a resemblance to the L’Homme Ideal EDP, with florals replacing the cherry aroma.
Today when I wore Neiredes Oppoponax i was surprised to get a strong almond note! It was really different from what I remembered, now it was even reminding me of a richer Cuir beluga... strange but I love it
Sebastian, Another great video from you! Thanks! I do like almonds a lot…to eat and in perfumery. I do own Xerjoff’s Starlight and BDK’s Velvet Tonka. The Egyptian one you mentioned sounds interesting. I will have to look into that one and some of the others you mentioned.
Thanks, I love almond notes. You compared the two Tonka Imperiale and BDK Velvet Tonka, but to me, Tonka Imperiale is worlds better than Velvet Tonka. I think Velvet Tonka is unoriginal but Tonka Imperiale wonderful. An almond that you didn't mention that I love is Serge Lutens Datura Noir, and it is a summertime favorite of mine.
Thank you! Such an initiated and also passionate review, lots of personality, love it!🥥🌹🥮 About notes: I would love to hear about MINT / Mentha perfumes...🌱
"Amaretti" (plural to "amaretto") are also italian biscuits made out of sugar, egg whites and almond powder (like french macaroons). Generally flavored with almond extract.
Man..these are so good! Did you talk about Reminiscence Dragee? There were so many! Lol..I'm definitely checking out BDK Velvet Tonka- I just recently acquired Wood Jasmine because I am obsessing over Jasmine at the moment but I am picky, picky about Jasmine. But, here lately I found 3 I actually enjoy- BDK Wood jasmine, Pearlescent Midnight Jasmine and Imaginary authors Fox in the Flowerbed! I think I want more BDK and Velvet Tonka sound 100% up my alley! I wish I could afford some Tonka Imperial...but, hey, maybe one day. Right now Jasmine and Orange Blossom are on my radar- also, I think I mentioned fragrances that remind you of a spice market..Thank you for always making great content! xoxo
If you haven’t already, try Lalique Plume Blanche! Hard to get in the US (other than form their site) but such a beautiful perfume, beautiful bottle and almondy ❤️
Great video! I need to check out Borea. My favorite almond fragrance is Tardes by Carner Barcelona…I have to force myself not to wear it for days in a row.
Great video and list Brutha , love me some Pegasus and L'Homme Ideal Extreme & Tonka Imperial, glad they brought that one back ... as it has my favorite note of tobacco . I will have to get my nose on that BDK next looks interesting also I bought Narmar form Nilafar Du Nil they are great , nice packaging and fast shipping may try Nilufer as well and they are an underrated house . Cheers 😎
Hi Sebastian! Speaking about almonds, I am so curious to know what the Cartier Basier du Dragon smelled like but it's gone discontinued. Do you know any similar fragrance?
Well I own just one of these fragrances, LAURENCE DUMONT TENDRE MADELEINE. I like the fragrance, but being the beast-master that I am it is just too low key for me. Great bed scent though. I have a sample of XERJOFF CASAMORATI ITALICA, love the Gourmandness of it, yet longevity is not great on me. Would you consider any of these fragrances Masterpieces? I would like to learn about strong carnation scents, with a little animalistic vibe thrown in. Great reviews, thoroughly enjoy your channel!!🤗
Cartier Le Baiser du Dragon. Best almond fragrance hands down. However it needs to be an older bottle. Somehow they messed up the current formulation with the smooth cap. Now it smells flat and very short lasting.
I've only smelled two from your list and I own them both, 1725 Casanova and Pegasus. I have L'Homme Ideal EDP and that features almond, too but I wish I could find a bottle of Extreme.
I have one almond fragrance: Orgasmo by Italian gourmand perfumer extraordinaire, Hilde Solani. For Amaretto lovers, it's da bomb, sweet and yummy. I enjoyed my Velvet Tonka decant. Must try some of your picks, Jardins des Misfah and Nilafur speak to me. Thanks, Sebastian.
Even Black phantom by Kilian and Givenchy pi could make the list.. I mean, I used to smell and wear heliotrope blanc back in the days when I was younger I remember, and that Black phantom dry down smells like heliotrope blanc to me, it shares also some similarities with Givenchy pi's dry down. Overall, heliotrope blanc is a sex bomb everybody should at least smell once in their lifetime one of the best fragrances believe me !!
Please please please review the house of Fueguia 1833 Patagonia. They have a store in NY. I have seen only a smattering of reviews on the house, and I would love your take. As a fellow lover of boozy fragrances, I am telling you that you will LOVE Xocoatl.
