Don't reject me when I become old Don't reject me when I become old, when my fortress starts falling, don't leave me. Don't reject me, don't leave me. When enemies and my guardian angel together solve, they will tell: God left it, marry him and give a name, after all it has no disposal. My god, don't abandon me, hear my prayers about the help. Who slandered my soul, he will have shame and he will be gone, they will have sense of shame when they try to do me the harm. I always hope, I hope for you and I hope for your praise. My voice is not nearly as deep as Vladimir Miller's; however, out of 16 men in a community chorus I was the only man able to sing C#2 (2 ledger lines below the bass staff). So deep voices are uncommon in the West.

Contemporary music is so groove driven and -dependent, you have to keep melodic elements out of the bottom octaves. Even someone the size of Miller, gets completely drowned out by big drums and synth basses. Similarly, to sing along with a supertight groove set by a wall of electronic drums, the singers' attacks have to be quick and punchy. While even the biggest human voices need more buildup to properly resonate such low notes. And: You need a quiet, ideally an acoustically sound, room to get the most out of such low notes being sung. The background noise and rumble of traffic, compressors, boomboxes and other modern inventions, easily drown them out. People's hearing reflexively tend to focus on the higher pitches in a mix. Higher pitched sounds tend to overshadow lower pitched ones. Ergo: A noisy world is a tenor's world. And then: contemporary melodic music is mostly singing (or less politely whining...) about being a rather androgynous emo teenager in love..... Miller doesn't really sound very convincing in that role....

The performers started the piece in C# minor, a half-step above the original. The pitch migrated about a quarter-tone down, so that at the end Miller was singing C and one half rather than C#. Miller took the higher options at the end. He does this piece very well, and the chorus and conductor here are superb.

I have to explain what the original version of the concert Do not Reject Me is. Chesnokov initially made 2 versions of the ending of this song. The first one is with a low note of G, and the second is without a note of G, with a note of B flat. Both options are copyrighted, they are absolutely equal. So both are the original versions written by Chesnokov. The soloist has the right to perform any of them.

It's clear that Miller doesn't sing G1 because it isn't in his vocal register. He struggles the B an C.. Also in the end of the piece he misses the D singing almost a C# for a moment... indeed this isn't one of the Miller's best performances
