One of those little hand held uv lights is handy for quick setting it. Then you can follow up with the lamp. I'd be careful about exposing your skin. Kind of like a tanning bed.

Two differences with the frog versus the coasters... The coaster mold is solid white and the frog is see through which allows the light to get to the underside a bit. And since you were putting the frog under the light every few drops it spent way more time curing. The frog is awesome.

Julie, meant to tell you...put a mirror mat or foil under your molds when curing. Works VERY well to increase the amount of UV light available. *Julie:* Somebody take this UV bottle away from me! *Also Julie:* Continues making raindrops... 😅

Hey Julie, nail technician here. I LOVE LOVE this!!!!! Think of the texture you could add to the topside if you were feeling super extra! *swoon* A few tips that could be helpful. 1. The temperature of the resin will make the UV gel flow faster or slower. This seems obvious but if your bottle is colder your drops will retain their shape a bit longer before slumping. 2. A 5 second flash cure is enough to freeze the drops into place and then do one final 2 minute cure at the end, on each side. If needed you can pop it out of the mold and cure the topside one final time. 3. When adding glitters and pigments working in layers can be helpful but that’s not always an option so just make sure the mixture isn’t fully opaque. Oranges and greens typically have curing issues because of the pigment structure. 4. Wear gloves with the UV gel, while it’s very similar to what is used in salon the ingredients are harsher and contact with the uncurled gel is where it can be the most irritating to the skin. Using a high % of alcohol is best practice as anything with acetone will actually pull chemicals into the dermis of your hands as it breaks through the skin barrier.

Amazing result. Very realistic water drops. On another note please try to keep your hands out from under the uv lamps. Accumulated exposure is not good for your skin or nails.

Im not a fan of frogs but this one's little round toes got me, and your creativity! I've made a couple of them now. If you leave the extra pigment in, it'll just swirl up to the top of the black resin which makes the bottom of your frog look pretty cool.

He is so pretty, love the way those colors blended together. I was wondering why you kept hitting the button on the UV lamp when it automatically starts the curing process. Lol I use to do nails and know about that feature on some lamps. So glad you figured it out because now you can "rock and roll" through some curing! Hi julie. I not long watched this video and loved the frog and technique. So i went and grabbed my uv resin and four coasters and tried this technique out. ❤️🙏🙂

This is absolutely stunning. Have been using UV resin since Jan 2022 and when it's sticky just put it back under the light for 2-5 minutes depending on the size of the piece and it'll take care of the stickiness.

I’ve the same lamp as u mine don’t flicker ( the numbers) but catch it n light clicks on that frog is amazing x❤

Putting you hand under the uv light shouldn’t hurt as they use them in the nail salons. Maybe if you did it all day everyday probably not good for you. I love the way you experiment! Maybe you could create the dots on a flat surface that peel and place in mold with dot upside down into the resin to get the dot shape. Does that make sence :)

So super cute. The reason the drops were sticky on the other one was because the mold was white. If it had been clear you could have turned it over and cured the other side. Otherwise, you just take it out and cure it when you remove it.
