Hello ! it seems to me that a lot of treasures lie buried in this talk. This talk is expressed in a simple way but it will take much time or many years for me to understand the talk correctly. I 'm looking forward to see what these ways will bring me from now on ! Thank you very much for everyday work !
#6 is a good tip. It can help us find our "holes" in the language. The most common words/phrases to learn first. I would not do this if I can go back to the beginning of my Russian studies. As Steve Kauffman mentioned, just ignore these words, and skip to a little more advanced vocabulary because the most common 1000-2000 words will show up so frequently, you will learn them quickly, without any effort. No reason to give it effort in the beginning. It will come quickly and naturally. We dont need to waste time learning them / Music listening I dont find helpful at all. I'm a native English speaker and I cant understand even 50% of what is said in an English song. Even if I understand it, it is probably "poetic" and is not everyday speech, making most of the lyrics useless Thanks for all your videos! They are very appreciated. You do a great job!
An extremely useful tip is to learn "word formation" learn word roots, suffixes, and prefixes. It would be very helpful if you made a videos about these topics. This method goes hand in hand with frequently used words and learning words in context with sentences. This is an example of what I mean близ; near близ; near (prep.) (with gen.) близкий; near, close близнец; twin близость; nearness, proximity вблизи; nearby, not far of course some words may have the root component but not fall into the category of meaning like some words may have близ but not necesarily be in the group of words like the ones above with the general meaning of closeness. The idea is not to learn individual words but to learn the word components so you can form and recognize words faster and easier and make more educated guesses if you come across a semi familiar word with a familiar root.
The first one is so incredibly important. Otherwise you spend so much time and effort learning words that don't really matter. With 5 new words per day you learn the 1000 most common words in little over half a year. That's already enough to read most simple texts. And with a bit of practice people should be able to already read relatively intermediate texts as well.
Here's a trick I use to super charge my language learning: change the language of your phone! Mine is currently set to Russian. It was on German before, when I was learning German. At first, you'll be lost. But try it for one week and see how many new words you learn. You'll be amazed. Also, most common websites will change their language when you visit them. You'll quickly see what is common among them. And finally, when you go to Russia and try to refill your МТС SIM card, you'll be able to do it with ease!!😂
Russian with Nastya I talk to myself. Du kannst Selbstgespräche führen. I take advantage from false cognates. I already know the words. I just have to tell my mind “Сова 🦉 “ is an animal in Russian and in French is „Wie geht’s“. Собор im my native language( European Portuguese) means tasty- it is a noun. False cognates don’t confuse me, they help me. You already know the word. Your mind just need to make an associate and not learn the word as a new word.
Thank you again for all the helpful suggestions. I find my self thinking in Russian so much during the day when someone says something to me in English I want to respond in Russian and then remember they do not know Russian. I will incorporate all your other suggestions. Singers I like songs by Polina Gagarina. Some of her songs already have subtitles in english..but the videos I find the most useful are the ones with Russian subtitles so I can look up the words in yandex translator. You are so kind for sharing this information. Have a great evening.
Also there are some songs on 3ears.com which you can follow the written words with the word sung in song. For example. 3ears.com/media/3063 less songs, but it is useful for following along in Russian.
LOL LOL. I was hoping to be here with you Nastya for hours and hours. After which I could walk away speaking perfect Romanian. Joking aside, I do disagree on a few minor techniques. I try to avoid pairs of words, at least not together. I want to learn such words as 'good, right, up, wide, big' and after I know them well, only later do I teach myself 'bad, left, down, narrow, small'. Otherwise, I sometimes get my brain turned around, and confuse the pairs, saying one word, when I really meant the antonym. I also study both sentences and also "two line dialogues" because an answer of ничево can be different things in English, based on the question asked earlier. For example, "How are you today?" or maybe "So you hunted over the weekend, did you shoot anything? A duck maybe?" Also if a person was too grateful, "Thank you so much, how could I have done it without your help?" ничево ничево ничево are the same word three times, but they have three different meanings in English.
Привет Настя thanks for the advice, i try to study hard in Russian everyday and i understand lessons really well, then when i watch a Russian movie i get a bit upset cause i dont understand that much i just pick up certain words, any suggestions? Have a nice day. Thanks 😀
Keep watching. It is not that you don’t know enough vocabulary, your listening skills are not good enough yet. Just watch till you start understanding. It will suddenly happen.
Ich habe eine Gruppe vergessen. Der prinzen 1. Alles nur geklaut 2. Millionär 3. Deutschland 4.
