Потому что нам льстит, что иностранцы интересуются нашим языком и изучают его, и нам интересно, как они это делают) Это само по себе интересно, русский зачастую сложен даже для носителей.
I am Polish and I can confirm that too. 70% of the worlds are exactly the same. Remaining 30% are very similiar or are present in archaic Polish and no longer in use.
@@rubyvampiredean. You're the best! Learning Russian is tough but worth every effort and energy that you'll pour your heart, mind, and soul into it. In a heart beat. I'll would choose Russian over English if I'd to start over from the very beginning growing up. No brainer. The most beautiful language in the world. Of course, that's my personal opinion.
I am passionate about languages, cultures and cuisine. I have been learning daily. My desire is at least 10 languages. I adore Polygots who have mastered at least 7 languages. I guess his wife is lovely and brilliant🥰🥰
I lived in Croatia for 11 months and am finding this easier to pick up than Croatian. I think it is probably because I'm going into Russian with a Slavic base.

As a Polish native speaker I can say that almost all words are exactly the same or very similar. There are few differences but overall similarity is striking.
I started watching your videos as well as Max’s videos a couple of months ago. I got serious and bought Olly’s Russian Short Stories a month ago. I also started attending a Russian speaking Church…so stoked at my improvement with your language.

This for me is one of the best videos you´ve made, i am in the very early stage of learning russian and for some reason i learned more from this so far than any other video. I just absolutely need to learn the aplhabet first tbh, i need to visualize to learn but for that i need to know what the sign even means in the first place.... Great content, please keep doing this.

If any of you are interested in linguistic comparative studies, I've found that two such different words like "hunger" in English and Russian "чахнуть" (to waste away) are the same ч/к - h а - u (х) н - ng Wow!

And with your explanation of what the word да is doing in «Он пришёл, да беэ подарка», a light switched on above my head. Aha! So now I finally understand what «Долгая дорога да и то не моя» in Аукцыон' s song Дорога means. Отлично! I may learn some Russian yet, albeit at a very slow pace. :-)
Now I understand the meaning of У the sentence У меня есть makes sense. It means (literally): there is something near me. It makes sense why it is used to refer possession because when you have something you usually keep it near yourself.
@@georgyekimov9727 Actually it is better explained through German. U menya yest' - I could translate that as "bei mir gibt es / hat es", or "with me there is". But (limited) English doesn't really have u / bei in that sense. Now I wouldn't say "bei mir gibt es" in German. instead I'd simply say ich habe / ya imeyu. Learning Russian is much easier when you know German. You as a Russian and I as a German use very different words, but we very often use the same idioms. Like you would say something like В рамках студии, ученики нарушили... and I would say Im Rahmen der Studie entdeckten die Wissenschaftler... But you wouldn't say "in the frame of the study, scientists discovered ..". It's so much harder for me to translate from Russian to English than Russian to German.
