Planning the same here in New Communist Michigan. An additional small home on our property. Subscribed to follow along. Found some fantastic "sheds" in Mio Michigan built by the local Amish community. Great families.

So far the only code in your setup that's different than in Oregon where I live. Any dwelling occupied by anyone has to have two 36 inch exits/exterior doors in case of fire, you have at least one exit that isn't blocked by fire! Windows don't count but the windows has to be a minimum distance from the floor (44 inches) so kids can use the window as an exit or escape. Thanks for the video!

Its so weird seing electrtical in the US. Your Mains boxes are inside, the wires come up through the floor, and then go through the studs paralell to the floor. Our mains are outside, and the wires run through the ceiling/ along the tops of walls, with wires dropping down to lights and outlets.. just different

If someone lives in a warmer climate in the US, the main panel can be outside. I would rather the panel inside if something goes wrong and you need to turn it off. Also, random angry neighbors couldn’t turn off your power if they wanted to. 👀 About coming from the floors vs the ceiling, they could do that here, but tradition is tradition.

Technically, no. However it really comes down to zoning and whether or not you are within city limits etc.

Are you sure its safe for Troy to be around electricity? Eli knows computers enough to qualify, but Troy's got malfunctions with electronics, so.......he may need a safety barrier.
