I knew several of these short cuts which are super helpful; the F2 button for entering/editing a cell was new to me and will have to try that one. The other one was the fill handle, I have known about putting cursor in the bottom right corner and dragging but double clicking to auto fill/update the cells is very helpful. I will be forwarding this to staff in the office so they can learn new tricks as well, if they don't already know. I believe half the staff I have forwarded emails from you to them and they may already be on your email list. I really like the tips and tricks - although some of the more advanced tips are over my head - but at least the accounting staff can find them useful. Thank you Jon for all the great information.

My favorite RU-vid hack: For all of the Excel tips and tricks that you know you won't remember, create a saved list call Jon's Excel Hacks and save the video for your future reference. Favorite? Like picking a favorite child. (1) Lock the drawing tool. (Though I don't draw much). (2) Double clicking on the Toolbar to collapse and restore. My all time favorite tip from you is your running totals in tables. It is a feature I use a lot, and your method is both simple and effective. My personal tip for those who work with tables extensively: lot, adding the table totals icon to the QAT. Also the column filter toggle shortcut is something I use frequently. It is a godsend for eliminating any filters from a table quickly from large tables.

Although I still don't like to use the mouse too much, a lot of the double click tips are worth incorporating. On a side note: I'm mousing left, so I'm used to translating 'right click' to 'left click' and vice versa. But better words would be "selection button" (my right) and "context button" (my left).

@ExcelCampus
@ExcelCampus 9 дней назад
Thanks! One way to achieve that is with a table of contents sheet. This is just a sheet with a list of sheet names and links to each sheet. We can use a macro to create the sheet. Here are a few videos that explain the setup. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pLTph31wyZY.htmlsi=K1Mf5-TSLveAEPbJ ru-vid.comD4eZZr9RqCg?si=VAr_TC6Eu_d4kGad There are other ways to do this, including linking to files instead of sheets. I'll add that to our list for future videos. Thanks!

In the late 1960's, a colleague and I at our university developed a programming language for use in our laboratory. By the time we were done, we had added so many bells and whistles to the language that there was no need to apologize when we chose to add another, overlapping or duplicating capability. We had nothing on Excel, which may even have more Easter Eggs and such than Word, which is really saying something. Archeologists will no doubt one day dig down and find that this program can even add a column of numbers. Who knew?

Yes! I sometimes wish this feature wasn't so "hidden" because it can be very useful. I forgot to mention in the video that Enter/Edit modes also work in all popup windows where you are selecting ranges. Hii what is the keyboard shortcut for see all sheets name
@ExcelCampus
@ExcelCampus 4 дня назад
Nice question, Dheena! 😊 Try F6, Tab, Tab, Shift+F10. The F6 key selects the current sheet tab where it is listed at the bottom of the screen with all of the other sheet tabs. Tabbing twice will move the cursor to the add new sheet symbol, then to the sheet cursor direction symbol. Holding Shift and pressing F10 brings up the right-click menu for the selection, which in this case is a list of all the sheets. Enjoy! 🙂
@ExcelCampus
@ExcelCampus 3 дня назад
To use this tip, you may have to drag the scroll bar to the left so that one of the sheets is at least partially hidden. If the scroll bar is not covering any of the sheets, the second Tab key press will not function in the desired manner, but the list of all sheet names will still be visible via the tabs at the bottom.

Good point! I don’t believe there are any sheet navigation features like that on the mobile version. One workaround is to add a table of contents sheet to your workbook. You would need to create that sheet on the desktop version with either VBA or Office Scripts. I have a few videos that explain the setup in more detail. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pLTph31wyZY.htmlsi=K1Mf5-TSLveAEPbJ ru-vid.comD4eZZr9RqCg?si=VAr_TC6Eu_d4kGad I hope that helps. 🙂
