When I saw this video pop up, I thought well that's not a worthy topic and I know how to use snipping tool. Then I watched it and I've learned to never question Leila. If she made a video about something, there's something to be learned
Wow! Who said: "you can't teach an old dog new tricks"? Well, I'm an old dog and you just showed me some new ticks. I knew how to take screen shots but not all the other great tips you just gave us! Thanks.
Another great video! Windows+Shift+S has changed my life The key combination of: Alt+PrintScreen captures the currently active window as well Thank you Leila 😀
At the 2:05 mark, " ... not everyone likes change ..." Prof Leila teaches 'change' ... and I am thankful for it. I don't always understand it ... initially, but always appreciate the insights. Thank you ... thank you ... thank you ... 😍😍😍 PS Off to a bit of a late start this morning for me ... on vacation in the western wilds of Maryland ... but still welcome an opportunity to learn from Prof. Leila.
I could have used that delayed timer the other day. I'll have to go back and play with all of the extra features. Haven't done much but copy/paste. Thanks for digging deeper.
I've used the Snipping Tool often in Windows 10, but not since I recently upgraded my system to Windows 11, so this video is very useful and I've a learnt a lot of new tricks! However, right clicking a screenshot image it doesn't offer Visual Search, though it is available on images viewed in Edge browser. A minor niggle, but yet another excellent tutorial from you Leila! 👍
Thank you very much for your time sharing this. I use the snipping tool several times a day and never noticed the option to record video. Thank you again!
This is great. Thank you. I was about to pay for SnagIt. Now I think Windows has me covered. Question: How does one take a screenshot of a window requiring scroll? Imagine an excel sheet with 100 rows of data
Maybe excel isn't the best example as it has its own way. How about any other software window. Other screenshot tools identify scroll and weave the image together (Snagit calls it panorama). Is that possible in Snipping Tool.
This was great. It's a total timesaver to edit the screenshot right in the snipping tool. Normally, I would do most of that in word as I tend to edit a lot of training docs with screenshots for visuals.
Whenever I think I know it all, there comes a video to pull me down and keep me grounded! Well, this video did just that, opening my "eyes" to all that can be done using the snipping tool and I didn't knew many! Thank you Leila for the useful video once again and you are a great teacher as always! 😊
Great video, Leila. Thank you. Lots of new changes and yes, I was wondering where the ruler went, now I know. I also really like the redact too. Take care
Thank you Leila Super exciting, just a little envious of apparently living in a region that is lagging with updates, I simply don't have all the functionality yet, but good to know what's on the way
Very helpful, especially the video recording option and text extraction. Would be great if the update also included a counter option (used for creating manuals) and an option to obfuscate an area of the screenshot (not just email and phone numbers).
Vow, a great tutorial . Even though I know how to take screenshots, your video demonstrated very new hidden tricks and tips I never knew before. Thanks a lot Madam. GOD BLESS.
Nice, thank you. Even better, if you're to able to save these screenshots with the annotations into one screenshot. (Instead of multiple screenshots without a third-party app or another Microsoft app).
Wow, so cool! I hadn't been paying much attention to the Snipping Tool because it stopped responding to Shift-Win-S several months ago. I could get it to open, but I had to do it via the Start menu, and the extra steps for getting to where I could take a screen shot had me just falling back on Shift-PrtSc to copy the current window to the clipboard, pasting it into Paint and saving it as a JPG. I tried to fix it, but working with Snipping Tool's options made no difference, so I just ignored it. Because of your video, I tried PrtSc, Shift-PrtSc and Shift-Win-S again, and I was thrilled to find that not only is it responding to all the hotkeys again, but I have the updated Snipping Tool you just demonstrated. I think I will celebrate by making the "Here's How To Get A Screen Share Started" video that my remote support tool has never made!
For disappearing things (like tooltips in Excel or Power BI) I have always found the timer really tricky to use. I simply use a PrintScreen (with Shift usually for me) to copy to clipboard and then open Paint which gives the whole screen (2 screens actually) as an image. For some reason PrintScreen keeps the vanishing tool tips. Then I just snip from the Paint screen (usually using the snipper). Maybe the timer has got easier, or maybe it just needs more practice time than I ever had patience for.
PROBLEM: AutoSave to Screenshots folder not working. Even though I checked the settings to make sure it's on, it doesn't work. Any ideas? Also, your ideas about what info to share are always so stellar and right on! 💜
Yup, pretty useful, under the category of photo editing tools. I tried them out before, the only request would be to add a text box next time the digital Pencil, other than that, loving the copying and pasting text right from the images, a better improvement would be to recognize text links automatically like a QR code. Cool and informative video, tho! 😺🥰👩💻⭐️💎
Thanks for another great vid, very well explained... Will the Snipping Tool capture a Rolling Full Screen image? (an image that is larger than your screen, so you have to scroll down to get to the bottom?) How can I do this!! Thanks.
Great job, as usual... very clear, very informative. And of course, your looks and voice are very easy on the eyes and ears.... but, don't get a big head... it'll change your look and voice too much. Do you know if the video capture options allow highlighting mouse position and clicking?
How do i add a text to a snip. Can it be done in the Clipboard after taking a Windows+Shift+S short cut key use. i always face this challenge to type text in a Snip. Could you guide with an easy way Leila. Thanks.
I just use ice cream screen recorder. It`s free and you can take a screenshot of any part of your screen by clicking custom screen shot and dragging the borders to any part of the screen and it saves the screenshot to the ice cream folder in documents.
tldw - is there a way to ONLY get it in clipboard and not as a saved file? On Mac, you can hold control and it does just that. I quite like that and use it often.
I have windows 11, it has the latest updates, but in the "Shapes" tab I don't have the new Emoji option. Any idea how to fix this? Copilot couldn't help me :)
Agreed. Btw, everyone can share feedback about product improvements: feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/ If it gets enough votes they may consider it.
The ridiculous thing for this app is there's no add word function 😢 Some time i just want to put my typed message in the screenshot but i have to draw the word out... Can't believe that they add all the shape & emoji instead of text
