14:30 As a ranger who works at the Grand Canyon, I would like to add that Horseshoe Bend is NOT in Grand Canyon National Park, but in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area outside the town of Page, AZ. I recommend taking a water bottle with you as the trail is about 3/4 of mile (1K) long up a steep hill and a very sandy trail. A proper and maintained trail is under construstion and should be finished by this September. Expect huge crowds.
vagabrothers Travel itself is amazing & sure, photos are great (especially to remember the trip better), but the mentality to show off bothers me. I feel like that often is the case on Insta. But enough negativity - your videos are always inspiring me! Love you for all the input.
Yeah, insta-travel annoys me too. Travel to a place to see, experience, learn... not to brag. But on the other hand, photography has inspired many of my travel destinations and I love sitting my friends and family down for slide shows after my trips. I guess there's a fine line between sharing the joy of travel and bragging about the places you've been.
vagabrothers Fantastic video! I think there are a few big points we should mention for traveling and the influx of travel due to social media. We carry big responsibilities as travelers to be respectful to culture and nature. Especially accounts who influence more travel, we have the ability to share this awareness too.
Do people seriously pick where to go on holidays based on "instagram-ability" that's so weird to me. All countries have their beauty, taking a photo for Instagram wouldn't be hard :) That being said I do want to visit all these places :P
Unfortunately yes - people choose their vacations by their Insta Fame - by no means do we support that, but if that’s what you’re looking for then this video will help. That being said there is so much more to every one of these destinations
Ha Long Bay is one of the best, especially if you go up to this hidden alleway to this shed that shows the whole bay view. We made a video on it too but definitely check that view out if you're in Ha Long!
I personally don’t post until after a trip.Also, no matter the destination any place can be “insta worthy”. It’s up to the photographer. Anywhere with with mountains and trails is a travel destination for me!
I always choose my vacations based on TWO things: Photography and History. Everything else is second to those two priorities. And if you're a history buff, I'd recommend the Northeastern United States-ESPECIALLY Washington DC. Not only is it full of Instagram potential, but the sheer amount of history there is stunning.
I honestly think it's for the best...no matter the reason, if it encourages people to travel, I am for it. I personally don't have Instagram so whatever but if that is what determines people to go, more power to them
If you're in San Francisco, check out Grand View Park near the sunset district. It's a park where you have to climb several hundred stairs but once you get to the top, you have an almost 360 degree view of the city. It's a pretty unknown spot to visitors. You'll mostly see the locals walking their dogs. But it's an amazing spot, I visit every time I'm there.
Thanks for leaving some spots a secret. I was debating my Iceland trip due to over popularity, but there are definitely still some good spots that most tourists aren't ambitious enough to get to. Thanks for all your great videos! Super inspiring.
NYC is great for so many reasons though. It has all types of food you could ever wish for, including authentic food from all over the world. It has instagram opportunities all over all within a relatively short distance.
Really great topic! I’ve been noticing on my latest travels that Instagram friendly sites are becoming bigger destinations now than even incredible historic site. Crazy. Great video as always!
This video was truly inspiring! However, in a strange way it kind of inspires me to take less pictures/video and just take in the beauty of some of these places! As a RU-vidr myself, finding that balance can sometimes be difficult especially when you want to capture that first reaction or initial feeling... Pictures and videos are a fantastic way to capture a special moment during our travels but the moment may not be as special if you're experiencing ALL of it through a screen ;) Find that balance! :) Thanks Vagabrothers!
London's Elizabeth Tower (often referred to as Big Ben although that's the name of the bell in the Tower) is currently covered in scaffolding for restoration which isn't scheduled to be completed until 2021. Also, owing to the works, the bell is not chiming.

I traveled around indonesia to almost all islands except Bali. My favorite destinations are Afghanistan, Yemen, Liberia, Sierra Leone and the Central African republic. Next ones i hope Eritrea, South Sudan and North Korea. There is no point in travelling for proving to people in instagram you live a better life than them, if you are not like me and like destinations such as France or Greece be sure to like genuinely by yourself and remember that Khalil gibran said “Travel and tell no one, live a true love story and tell no one, live happily and tell no one, people ruin beautiful things.”
I actually love the fact that you left the secret location secret because like if you really want to know then you can research it instead of just leaving it out there for the whole world to go and get in your picture
For the better in some respects. It gets people out & traveling the world, gaining perspective of other cultures (hopefully). All that travel helps to stimulate other communities around the world. But, as people check out the super popular places, others are starting to check out the lesser known, to avoid the crowds. Yes, the bragging is annoying. Honestly, who cares. Be more concerned about your own journey and less about theirs.
As I was getting to the end I thought, are they not going to mention Iceland? But of course, you did! As a native Icelander, it's so sad to see how the nature is getting ruined and more vulnerable due to over tourisim, and nothing is being done about it. You guys are absolutely my favorite travel (v)bloggers/youtubers/instagrammers, because of how you emphasize on respecting the nature and culture and opt for more sustainable tourism but are still getting the amazing shots! I would have thought chefchaouen in Morocco would have made your list for sure or devils bridge in Germany love the list though guys, I think insta travel just gives some good inspiration not the main reason for going 🙂
I think Instagram changed travel for the better. A lot of places I never knew about such as Bali happened from looking at others pictures. They and you guys aspired me to travel and be adventurous.
Great video! For anyone interested in London - Big Ben is actually closed ( well covered) and is under construction! There are quite a lot of people who arrive and are disappointed cause they couldn't take 'that' shot....
Great tips guys! I definitely appreciated the tip about going to Machu Picchu in the afternoon. Going to keep that in mind. I think Instagram just brings certain places more to the forefront. That can ruin a destination if too many people go there, but it can also help people find places they otherwise wouldn’t. ¡Saludos! -Jim
We just checked off the Torres del Paine Insta Pic, but we choose to shoot ours in the other direction haha. Now we shoot our photos in Sicily, a true Instagram paradise.
If I had to pick one...it would be Patagonia, mostly because of its wilderness and it being not 'typical tourist' place. I live in Dubai but I have yet to get a perfect 'gram gold shot.
You are both so funny I love these! I think Instagram has changed traveling for the better and worse. I think it has shown people what is out there and motivates people to get out and see places but at the same time it is not good because people are seeing all these places through a phone and not their own eyes. And cool kept secrets of places are now no longer secrets but tourist attractions. I think it’s important to find things on your own and expirence them as you go. You two do a great job on not spoiling things at all but motivating people to travel and see the world 🤙🏼 love you Alex and Marco you two are the Goats!
The Tower of St Stephen (Big Ben is the name of the bell inside it that does the 'bongs' to mark the hour) is currently covered in scaffolding and will be for the next year or so, so wouldn't make a particularly insta-worthy shot.
I took a helicopter tour of Rio and circled Christ the Redeemer from above and it is by far the best picture I've ever taken. And I've taken some cool pictures of the opera house in Sydney, Machu Picchu, Chichen Itza, and Hawaii, among others.

Seeing a few of your videos, I like how you place a written reference to the places that you recommend visiting overall but when you mention specific activities or alternatives within a country or city could you write them? How about Marrakesh? As a Moroccan living in the US, whenever I miss home, the 1st place that comes to mind is always Marrakesh and the South. It can be overwhelming (even for a local), but if you can embrace the chaos and appreciate the mystical , magical air of Marrakesh and allow your senses to be enticed, then you might really find yourself coming back to it more than you think. Best times to visit are early spring and fall. Thanks as always for sharing the fruits of your labor with us :)

you guys need to go to western australia, you would love the pinnacles, margret river, and so much more. Dunsborough has so many kangaroos and fremantle is to die for
OMG I was there last week. I took the hike from Monteroso to Vernazza, and it was beautiful. I never even saw Riomaggore or corniglia. Now I have to go back.
Hey heads up on Big Ben from a Londoner. It's completely covered in scaffolding for at least another 2 years as Westminster Palace is in dire need of renovations. At least you'll be capturing a landmark at a unique point in time though! Great recommendation on the angle too, that's the same shot they use on the HP sauce label.

oh oh oh I got one for New York!! Instead of buying a ticket for the top of the Rockefeller Center, go to the cocktail bar just beneath the top deck. Have a drink and and an awesome view for less than the entrance fee :)
