Loved seeing your progress. My last root cover appointment was Jan 2020 also! Its been an interesting transition, especially during a pandemic. Thank you for sharing your pictures and experience.
Thank you, Danica! We’re on the same timeline. 👯♀️ I’m still processing the experience. It’s simultaneously super easy (just letting it happen) and entirely transformative.
I did it, too. Last color April, 2020. Best decision ever! 56 years old and thrilled I will not be coloring for the rest of my life. Love my new color.
It’s just extraordinary. It’s like when you finally get better and then you realize how sick you were. My head is covered with 2 inch baby hairs that weren’t there before.
Hello there my gorgeous friend Beth,I'm a friend of Connie Murphy'' how are you my dearly friend? wow your gray hair is absolutely amazing and stunning..very suit to you the color..so astonishing hair color.
Thank you so much for watching! 💖💖 I think what’s happening culturally is that we no longer really know what’s natural! I didn’t know what I was getting into when I stopped dying my hair, and I was surprised that (to me) what Mother Nature gave me was better than what I could get in any salon. My real feeling is that all of us have been tricked into thinking we don’t measure up, but our natural beauty is our gift to enjoy. This is true for everyone 💖
Thank you, Beth, watching this is so encouraging. I am 3 months in now and it feels like my hair stopped growing ... weird change in perception, when I stilled dyed, I felt it grow way too fast, now growth seems to be much too slow! I will try to be more patient 😇 I love your videos, they do really help me a lot in the process! There are no great gray hair youtubers in Germany and I am not so interested in those who promote creams, makeup and beautiy tools in each episode. So I am always looking forward to new video coming from you. Thx!
Sasa, this is such a kind comment. I have had the same experience with feeling as though my growth has stood still, but have faith! Progress is happening. I enjoy making videos and I’m glad they are resonating with you. 💗
Beth, thanks for showing this. I tried to go gray in 2020 (you may even be able to notice it in some of my earlier videos) but my lifestyle actually became less healthy (mostly due to lack of exercise) and I was pretty stressed out with work so, I had it in my head that the gray hair was really ageing me more. It was too much for me to deal with. I realised a few months ago that the lack of sleep and exercise were the real culprits for how I was looking and feeling. I decided after my last haircut to try it again and I am about to skip the colour at my next hair appt! Seeing your transition from month to month really has me more excited about this process. Like you, I am so tired of losing the better part of a day every month or so, sitting in a salon chair.
Wow, Cherie! So nice of you to share. I thought I might have spied some gray growth in the past, but your hair is so fair that it wasn’t obvious. I’m sending you love and support 💓 I can tell you my hair is so much healthier and thicker now. You’ll be stunning. I hear you on the exercise. This winter has been my least active ever. I’m planning to get on the exercise bike tonight and get back into it. It’s really shocking how quickly the sedentary lifestyle takes its toll.
Thank you, it gave me an idea of the process ahead. Haha, birthdays same month and now also last dye in the same month (mine was February 20th). Pulled out a hair yesterday to measure the new growth (48 mm, a little less than 2 inches). In the front it's darker, the crown and sides the brightest silver - could turn out kinda nice 🙏 My hair is quite long, so I think I'm going to get a bob around the one year mark, so it won't take forever 😯 I really love your curls - you should rock them more often👌😍
Wow! So many coincidences. I love the experience of learning what your pattern looks like. It’s so exciting and strange because it’s YOU but it’s still a mystery. Very powerful stuff. I’m wearing it curly more now. When I was earlier in the gray hair journey I didn’t like how it looked as much, but now I’m liking it more. The curls will always be with me 😂
A very peculiar experience. Dyed it for 14 yrs, since I was 42. First every 7-8 weeks, then 6 and lastly 5 - looked good for 2, and so-so for 3, which was why I stopped. Used a 'perfect color match' box dye and always considered the dyed hair 'my hair'. So I feel strangely ambushed at the moment - like "YO!? When did this happen and where did my hair go??" At some point I guess it will sink in, that this IS my hair 😂 Today I discovered that the lighting in my bathroom makes it look more silver than it really is... it's just a patchy mess of natural dark brown (especially the nape), salt/pepper and muddy whatshouldwecallit 😫 Not pleased with it today! Maybe tomorrow will be better 🙏😉 I like both styles on you 💜 They give off surprisingly different vibes: A polished, 'proper' and somewhat restraint look and a more carefree 'fun' look... one for work, and one for play 🤓💃🙌😁
Hey! Just saw this now. I hear you about being surprised by your pattern! It’s really hard to know what it will look like until around 6 months. Those patches might be beautiful dimensions! Thanks for the nice comment. I like wearing my hair both ways. It’s usually a function of convenience which way I go. It’s like having alter-egos. 🥸
Thank you for your encouragement, Beth... I'll take 'beautiful dimensions' over 'patchy mess' 😂 I've never been this preoccupied with my hair in my entire life 😬 But - as you said - it's too early to tell how it will turn out, so I'm trying to ease off a bit before I go 😲 Love the idea of alter-egos! How fun it would be if we could change the color and texture (i.e. curls) of our hair the same way as we do with clothes, make-up and jewellery. Today sleek gray, tomorrow curly red, then wavy blonde etc. etc. 👏 Have a lovely weekend 😘
@@live4salsa I hear you. Mine is much the same after almost 17 months! Lots of silver underneath but on the top it's a mix of muddy brown/salt & pepper which I'm not keen on, so hoping that eventually all of it will grow out silvery!
Thank you for this! I am still trying to decide what I'll do next, but I am about 4 months in with no color at all. I have very thick, long curly hair which has been kept dyed blond for many years. The dark roots are coming in gray and I like how it looks. I might just go through with this and appreciate your video..it is very helpful!
Hi, Donna K! Welcome. Your hair sounds so much like mine. When I think back to 4 months, I really had no sense of what it would look like fully grown out. I think it was more like 9 months when I got a clear sense. It might bye fun to hang in there to find out!
I know that feeling of "I might just go through with this." I think the pandemic got me started thinking about it but now that I can get haircuts again might be good.
Thank you, Em! Do you find that taking monthly pics makes the progress feel more real? I’d be happy to talk about how the quality of my hair has changed (for the better!). Thanks for your comment. 😘
@@InfinitegardenbyBethK yes please, because apart from colour .. Im hoping for softer, shinier, stronger and wavier ! Like before the bleach addiction took hold 🙄 Xxx
Thank you! 😘 quarantine gave me the chance to work on my skin and I’m feeling really good about it. I went gray very young (combo of genetics and serious stress) and I’ve definitely gotten comments asking if it’s real or a salon effect. I think my gray was accelerated beyond the average aging process.
This was interesting and very helpful. I am at the "multicolour" stage and when I look in the mirror I think "pass me the blonde hair dye, I can't do this!" But that stage didn't look awful on you, it probably doesn't look as bad as I think on me but it's down to confidence I suppose. If only I could've told my younger self that one day I'd be excited about going grey! 👩🏻🦳☺️
Hello! 🥰😘 I had a little bit of help at the six month line where my stylist added additional platinum while highlights throughout my hair to blend the growth line. This made it truly blended and ombré and it made me much more comfortable. Confidence helps, but sometimes span assistance can make the difference 🥰😘
You're so lucky to have a real silver colour. I've been growing mine out for almost the same time and mine's still very patchy with dark sections. You look great!
Thank you! 🥰😘 It’s such a trip to change my thinking and to now appreciate the silver. For so long it was a source of shame and unhappiness. Hang in there. I hope you grow to like your natural hair color!
You look so good.. wow. I think your confidence really shines through. There is nothing wrong with your hair.. if you didn't do these videos...i would assume this is your hair on purpose
Very helpful to see your progress. Took a few screen shots to remind myself what to expect. I'm brunette, but still helpful to see this; it's pretty clear even though you're blonde.
