17 New Updates Everyone Wants in Minecraft 1.17 Cave Update! Minecraft's new Caves and Cliffs Update brings a bunch of new features to the 1.17 update, but looking at fan feedback and suggestions, there are still plenty that could be added. So today, Skip the Tutorial is looking at features everyone wants that are still missing in the Minecraft 1.17 version, but could still be added in with 1.17 snapshots. From hatching the ender dragon egg to colored lights, these are some of the most popular features that could be in the next Minecraft update!

I personally think that backpacks would be overpowered, because inventory management is supposed to be something that limits you, so having that much inventory expansion would negate a lot of the intentional challenge of inventory management

The reason why Minecraft doesn't have shaders pre-built in, is because the game is meant to be run on lower end computers and laptops this makes Minecraft more accessible to people who can't afford beefy pc's. Anyway soz for the rant.

By far the most prolific, inexplicable oversight by Mojang is the inclusion of ambient sounds in EVERY biome. Minecraft is an otherwise dead game with the exception of mob sounds. This oversight at this point is completely inexcusable.

That sounds like it would have the opposite effect. It would rather make you think different instead of more creatively as you are more limited in your potential Maybe to the more simple minded designer it would help, but advanced minded people will only have there creativity weakened with the 'training wheels still on their bike'

Lava sponge would be a great addition to the game especially in the neither realm. Able to get rid of so much lava. And water turns lava into obsidian and you really don't need it. It could be areal hassle. And you don't want to trap yourself if you know what I mean. How slow lava is. It be nice to have a faster way.

Regarding the "rotation station" as you call it. There is actually an in game tool called a debug stick which can be obtained with the /give command that does exactly what you just discribed.

Well, the problem with backpacks is that if there's a large backpack there won't be any point in shulkers. Bundles are just supposed to be an early-game kind of shulker box, but less good cuz yknow... Game balance.

Here's an idea: Mammoths. Mojang really hasn't been updating the snow and ice biomes recently(besides foxes, and it's been almost a year since then), so maybe the woolly mammoth would be a good addition to the the snow biomes. You could possibly tame them, ride them, sheer them for wool and dye their wool all in one! They could also work as an Golem-like protection dedicate solely to you and only you. The only problem is what to use to breed/tame them with? Maybe berries?

Maybe the way to tame them is by finding mammoth bones, because of the new archeology sites being added in. You can bring one back to life, by enchanting the remains after putting them together. I don't really know but it sounds cool in my head.

In regards to a renewable sand supply: How about a pulverizer? Technical mods like buildcraft have done it. Basically it would be a means to pulverize different blocks to extract either materials or other blocks. Pulverizing cobblestone could give you gravel, pulverizing gravel could give you sand. Pulverizing basalt could be a potential peaceful supply of gunpowder. Pulverizing ores could give a little extra material. While that sounds powerful, it could either be made manual so you have to put the work in, or steam powered, which would need coal or some other fuel source, and twice as much at that, to use. Plus the pulverized ore dust would still have to be reprocessed to actually get the material from it (non-ore blocks would be finished after the pulverization process, so not too expensive to make sand or whatnot). If you have plenty of coal or other fuel to spare, the extra cost in fuel can be worth it for the double material output for certain applications. So it balances out by being useful while not overpowered, and application-specifically valuable while not too nuanced. And it would fit in very well without dragging the game too far in the direction of the mechanical mods.

Another feature that would be great is if all ores could have their own set of tools and armor, and just like netherite (Fire resistance) some of them can have their own effects, like, emerald armor can make villagers lower their prices, and maybe coal armor (Coal being the most common ore in my opinion) could make mining much easier!
