My a1 is actually a4 (a above middle C). 17-reed Sheng has many fingering variations. If you did not rearrange the bamboo pipes after purchasing it, then the fingering should be correct. Thank you. 😊
Your 17-reed Sheng seems to be an entry model where there are a couple of duplicate notes and most likely 3 high notes are missing. For intermediate/professional models, the fingering chart could be similar to my one. theshengplayer.net/17-reed-d-key-soprano-sheng-fingering-chart/
Hi Jun Khang, It is a custom-made Sheng ordered via Taobao. This miniature Sheng is not found on their Taobao store, and I contacted the seller before purchasing one of their Shengs of similar cash value. The fingering is also based on my own requirements. However, I do have the contact number of the Sheng maker, and I also purchased another Sheng from him many years ago. I ordered via Taobao this time because it is more convenient for me to pay as compared to remittance. Do let me know if you need the maker's contact number. Thank you. 😊
