1700s Springhouse in Forks Township Pennsylvania. Tour by the Forks Township Historical Society. June 21, 2014. Located a few miles north of Easton on Bushkill Drive along the Bushkill Creek and just downstream from the old Book Barn, Tatamy Farm Bureau, Braden's Airport area.

My grandmother had a stone springhouse. You couldn't keep your finger in the water, more than 3 seconds. It was freezing. There were big square 5 inch thick slabs on the floor in the well area to walk on. Then an area to store cold items. Really cool.

Before there was electricity many houses also had a small spring house to store and preserve food.
