The spring is gravity feed through a pipe that allows us to use it in the house as well as an outside hydrant. Primarily we use it for watering the garden and outdoor washing chores. Thanks for the comment.
I have a dry stack of rocks in my back yard that looks somewhat like that and surrounding it is really damp soil that seems to seep out of between the rocks like a rock filtered landslide. So many mosquitoes and crane flys around it. It’s totally filled with fill though. I wonder if it was a well or spring house at one time? My borough does not know either.
Have you thought of making a scoop of hardware cloth and window screen so you could sift out bigger stones while allowing silt and mud to get flushed downstream?
