Hi from Germany 😊 may I suggest to fuse that film. You can iron it between baking paper and you will get something called dichroic. There is also a fiber called Angelina, which is heat bondable. Unfortunately I can not manage to get it, reasonably-priced, here in Europe. Therefore I am happy to see you experimenting with it🎉 by the way, your resin creations are marvelous. Thank you so much for sharing your experience. ❤

I used it in card making a few years ago, you can also use angelina fibres between 2 sheets of the film, and stamp onto it. I still have about 9 of each film and fibres. All glittery and colour changeing. Love it.

I’ve used fantasy film in resin to make faux dichroic glass. I’ve always just scrunched the film. I didn’t even realize you could heat it. I’ll have to give that a try! The pieces I made always looked better with black on the back, kinda like how chameleon powders look better against black.

Really fun to watch- what a fun product! Wanted to comment- your mentioned your scissors were blunt. I fold aluminum foil until there are 3-4 layers and then cut the aluminum foil with my scissors. I make long cuts to sharpen the whole blade, but then also make small snips with the tips of the scissors into the foil to make sure the tips are really sharp. I save used (but clean) aluminum foil for this purpose and then just put the "snippers" into the recycling after sharpening my scissors. Works like a charm!

Did you know you can iron different film colors to make some beautiful color combos? I just pick my colors scrunch it then iron them together. some people make fairy wings with them you can even use them with rubber stamps just look up how to do so you dont ruin your stamps because it will melt clear stamps. Also i save every bit of mine because you can cut into glitter.
@Coyo-Tea
@Coyo-Tea Год назад
That looks the same as Angelina fusible film that you can iron onto fabric. I use that in resin too. I think using alcohol on the leftovers may remove the colour.
@rebekahalana

You can also cut it into tiny pieces and add it to the resin like you would glitter.

So gorgeous! 😍 My favorite is the blue but the first one you revealed (I think that might have been the green film) comes in second place. 😁👍 I actually have seen people use this in resin before but they put it in smooth molds and folded the film to create a faceted look. Gives a really nice effect, especially when backed with a bit of tin foil or silver leaf to give a metallic light reflector behind it. Sort of like those silver backed rhinestones you can find anywhere, but more custom, lol. I think it was years ago that I saw that video (it could have been a different product but it worked the same way) but maybe I could find the video in my older craft playlist for you? 🤔 I'll try. 😅

I used to teach a class on how to use this as well as the fiber. So many things you can do with this stuff. It originally came from the quilting community so you can actually sew on it and it can even be washed once it’s sewn into a quilt. I’ve made charms on shrink plastic with it, quilted with it., made fairy wings put it under clear embossing powder on top of beach glass to make faux dichroic glass and even rubber stamped it with a hot iron. ( The iron leaves an impression on the film.) Such cool stuff to play with! Edit- after you crinkle the film you can iron it under a piece of paper and it will flatten it but still leave the creases in it.
@ElveeKaye
@ElveeKaye Год назад
Ive worked with Fantasy Film, making fairy wings, its a lot of fun! Save your scraps, you can fuse them together by placing them between sheets of parchment paper and ironing them with medium heat.

I'm a fairly newish follower and I'm curious if you've got the JDiction leveling board for your resin projects. I got one along with the Let's Resin heating mat. So far I LOVE the heating mat but I'm not totally sure that I love the leveling board. The fact that it didn't really come with instructions for adjusting the legs (or anything else) and I've found no videos on how to actually level it is frustrating. I'm just testing with small coaster molds because resin is so expensive but I wanted to see if you'd tried it since you make so many resin projects. Love your channel so much! 🥰

I've heard that those curibg machines run on the same principle of dehydrators. In fact, one other brand that i saw another RU-vidr use looked exactly like a dehydrator...and may have done a comparison between a curing machine and a dehydrator....with the exact same result. I understand why you like the one you have, but you can put the molds in the stackable one and then pour the resin in.

Oh my goodness, these are so gorgeous 😍. The film would be really cool in coasters , too! Just a thought about the trapped bubbles ..... I made coasters using a holographic paper ( similar to the fantasy film ) and decided to put the background down first and let it get to the really sticky stage , then laid the sheet over that and once cured added the clear resin. I didn't get any bubbles. I used a medium viscosity resin.
