The example Adam used about reading is basically my story also. Hated it in school, once I graduated vowed to never touch another book, super slow reader, everything he mentioned. I got married and my wife reads a lot, i mean 3 books a week if she really gets into it. But it wasn't till we were teaching my daughter to read where I started getting into books. I wanted to set that good example for my kid so I started with something I knew I would like reading about and that was Star Wars. I love all the Star Wars movies at the time so I purchased a Star Wars book and forced myself to read. At first it was just a few pages at a time, but that eventually got better. Finished the book got another one and just kept going. Now my daughter is 8 an has read far more books than any other kid in her class and Im reading about 2 a month.

This channel has changed my fitness journey. I honestly just want to say thank you. Finally a channel that is enjoyable AND isn't a bunch of hype BS. I'm beginning to help my wife start going to the gym, and I'll be drawing a lot from what you guys are teaching me.

I like this channel because it reminds me of a lot of the things my strength coach says. He doesn’t say “this exercise sucks”…..every lift has a purpose and an effect. Anytime someone asks him a Q, he always asks “what are you trying to do ?” Or “what is your goal ?”…..I like the experience with things….these guys say “science says this….but most of my clients have experienced this….” 👍🏼

I’m a retired D1 cross country runner turned lifter. This journey has been so much fun and I learn something new every day. Thank you guys for your wisdom. Thank you for sharing healthy ways to build strength and get fit. I did a decade of 10 hrs of cardio a week and low calorie eating. I trashed my metabolism. Thank you for sharing the healthy way to look & feel better. Now, I Lift, watch form, track volume and eat to build a strong body. I love your programs 💪🏽

I was running 100 miles a week and eating low calories to lose fat. These guys saved my life. Now I lift 5 days a week and do boxing for cardio. I’m in the best physical and mental shape of my life.

after 5-6 years of training i finally found mindpump and ever since I've been listening to this podcast, everything has been elevated. my training, nutrition, and mentality have all been taken a step further and I am so grateful for the amazing information you guys have provided. thanks for everything guys keep up the amazing work.

I agree completely with if something hurts don't avoid it fix it. Back in June my knee started feeling sore and I decided to just rest for awhile until it gets better but it didn't. By September the pain got much worse. I tried bunch of different things to try and fix the pain including lifting again as I noticed my knee was sore after sitting and keeping it bent but was fine when squatting.fast forward to now my knee is much better I'm at about 96% pain significantly reduced and mobility is back to where it was.

The most important trait of a successful lifter is consistency...when someone can consistently go to the gym for 1 year, I can guarantee that they will see the result... nothing will beat consistency

I did when I was a young lifter but over pushed intensity, didn't bring up weaknesses and manage recovery or eat enough got injured and only just now am beginning to see results five years later.

Trainer in the making.... went through my own fitness journey and I'm working to fight in the resistance training revolution (currently reading the book) I will use prime and prime pro to pay it forward to my clients!! Surround yourself with visual reminders of the journey and goals you are working towards. I run more than I lift - I love running mountains. I lay out gear everywhere to remind myself of it but also have my weightlifting belt, gloves, chalk etc so I also have that side covered too. Live it, love it.

Mind pump has definitely helped me look at fitness in such a different way. I started working out last year and I know at the beginning I only was focused on the exterior but once I found mind pump they helped me out a lot with the outlook on health and fitness in such a positive light. Sal- Chase health and the aesthetics will follow.

Maps prime and maps prime pro would be huge for me! I broke my collarbone in 9 different places this year and my shoulder mobility has been atrocious ever since and I can’t seem to fix it. I think these programs will put my on the right path faster than anything else!

Love this ! ❤💯💥👊 TY for sharing such great wisdom from ur collective experiences. This is all sound advice that I can never hear too often. Techinque is everything, and that is the discipline, plus awareness of self is so powerful. I am now really looking forward to applying more purposful variation in my intensity, love this journey ! I started anabolic 3 weeks ago = optimising with a brand new modality! Previously I focused on compound lifts which I love, but yes do the things your not good at, and that wont always be the case!

you went over this but it is so true. when you implement these ideas into working out they go into other parts of your life. for example, I noticed when I started to really go slow, squeze, and focus on form in the gym and not worry about weight- even going down in a lot of exercises. This carried over into my gutair playing. I would be trying to play something hard and rushing into playing it fast with poor form just trying to play it (equivalent to not practicing form and just throwing weight on and trying to get it up however possible). Now, although it is tedious I am playing very slow and try to use the most controlled form for gutair (being relaxed, not flalling my fingers, and being concious which fingers should go where in order to make the most of the movements-without wasting any movement). And sure, it may take me longer to learn a song, but it will make my form better and my ability to play other songs much better and easier than before it just takes some discipline and a learning curve, and oh yeah patience. enjoy the process

Definitely, form is so important. I see guys doing push ups in the park and they want to do the feet elevated push ups, but then their belly/hips sag. I think this is an area where women's personalities are better than men's with lifting. We're more likely to care about form and less likely to ego lift. If you ego lift, you're gonna lose your form. I love you guys!!

11) create and practice habits that enable you to stay consistent. Examples might be….add workout to your calendar, have a workout plan in place, layout your workout gear.

I love having a process and getting into the zone before a lift or a movement. I treat myself as if I am a machine and I think of how a machine would go through the motions correctly and BOOM that’s how I do it. I’m proud to say that thanks to mind pump I have hit all 10 of these commandments!!!

When I started my fitness journey, I thought it’s really possible to get aesthetic “instagram” body in 3 months because thats what they advertised. I bought one of their programs but quickly I realized how big mistake it was. Eventually I realized it’s not about the destination, it’s about enjoying the journey.

I always tell people who are wanting to learning to squat that it takes time. I tell them it took me about ten years before my form got really good and even now after any lay off there will be some readjustment when getting back in to it.

I just started a fitness challenge and I am taking your advice. Instead on cutting I’m going to stay at maintenance to increase my metabolism. Then I am going to cut my calories to shred. My macro calculator was telling me to eat 1650 calories a day. This is too low for me. Apparently my maintenance is around 2230. So I’m going to stay around that while I build muscle 💪🏼

Listening to this made me realize how much better at lifting I’ve become due to applying most, if not all, of these tips. Been working on mobility and made it part of a new morning routine. I feel and move better now and it’s a great way to wake the body up versus just getting my coffee and sitting back down. I’ve been injury free as I add weight to my lifts so I guess I’m doing something right! Do you guys think discipline can be learned or is it a personality trait for those who possess it? I’ve never struggled with discipline in my life, it’s something that I’ve always had thankfully ingrained in who I am. But I know a lot of people who rely on motivation or hate to get them to work out or continue a fitness regimen.

I gained 20 lbs of fat over the holiday from Thanksgiving to jan 1st ....I am 5lbs down at 215lbs right now trying to lose another 15 and started 6 pack abs program!

Broooss…the obsession part I’m guilty of. I find it hard to back off the accelerator pedal tbh. I injure myself now more that I’m older and I have an ok physique but I wish my brain wasn’t wired like that. These conversations make me aware of it though and I will try to deal with it for sure. Intensity is probably the biggest one. I love weight lifting started strength and conditioning when I was in 7th grade football always had that go harder mind set.. it took me ten years to realize the fun in lifting weights came from lifting the weight not how hard I went and when I started to split my intensity I saw huge improvements and it makes sense we split the body parts for a 5 day routine why wouldn’t you split up intensity as well

Discovered you guys in January of last year when I finally started going consistently to the gym and have been binging your eps since ep 1. I'm up to ep 500 currently. Looking forward to getting up-to-date with you guys over the course of the next couple of years. Prioritizing technique and form.... I work at a major American university. Been using school gyms for over 30 years and have witnessed a ton of changes. The A#1 change is the number of young women that have taken up lifting. Man, they are so good at prioritizing technique and form. Way better than a majority of the guys. Out of curiosity, I will ask them, "Where did you learn to lift"? The answer is always the same. They learned to lift by watching RU-vid videos. Their motive for studying exercise videos before coming to the gym is also the same in most cases. They don't want to look foolish in front of the guys. I then ask them if, after studying exercise videos, do they realize how foolish most of the guys look.😊

Would you guys recommend performance or prime for someone starting muay thai / striking sports? Performance in the sport being first priority (mobility and joint safety) with second priority being some strength/power. Thanks!

Hey guys, I was wondering. My calves suck (I admit this wholeheartedly). I was thinking of incorporating the points you make about practicing moves and repetition to improve growth. With that being said, would it be realistic to assume that doing jumping exercises like jump rope daily may help with growth? Or could this hurt as there's a potential to trigger a similar catabolic effect of cardio?
