Humanity has driven speed into a whole new world. No longer can the quarter mile justify the engineering and pure badassery built into a car. The quarter mile was a standard of speed in to 80's, but now, the new standard requires a runway.
My original comment is correct, it is AWD (if you try to overdo the heating, it'll explode your differential). The reason you see the back tyres spinning while they heat them up is Total Race has a system that allows them to switch the front tyres off, so the rears will spin and heat up. They turn AWD back on for pulls. Even when the fronts are switched off, the system is still whole, so putting too much power into the rears will destroy the AWD system.
The boost setting is wrong. Too much power on 1,2,3 gear. With this kind of grip, full power should set at 4 maybe 5th, I bet it will smoke the tire even at 5th gear lol
Marsalis Harris The AWD is the problem, secondly the car is too light. GTR is an example, the alpha 16, 1700 kg with 1600 wheel horsepower can do 8 seconds 1/4 mile at 160 mph on street tire without huge amount of spinning, So for your question, I think he need a gear set up for lower power level.
Doesn't need to remove turbo, just need an E flash to control wastegate for lower power at specific gear like AMS GTR. Or just get set of 15 inch drag slick with Motec M1 traction control.
I think it might be RWD. It sure looks it the way the real wheels spin and the front isn't pulling at all. Maybe they just have the power to the front diff turned way down. Although known for being awd, I know they do make stock RWD gallardo's. And what a beautiful thing!
what no one realizes is that once you modify a car to this extent, it's an experiment in progress. the only way to move forward is to try and fail and keep trying till you succeed. if there was a problem with this car, it can be fixed too and be run successfully. :)
He actually broke the record for the unlimited 500+ back when his car had 1600whp. So stop the hating. I am pretty sure he has another pretty sick car for his daily driving
That's good to know! I thought that for some reason (like some DSM guys do) they made it RWD to handle the extra power. That Valentino Balboni edition is pretty sick!
you obviously havent seen this car roll on in a race from 50 its incredible it just has traction problems. its running a lot skinnier tires than real drag cars but it has the ability for street tires to be put on
Yea they have some work to do for sure. The initial goal it seems was to get the most hp under the hood as possible. Then test/build better, test/build better, etc. using the engine as the starting point. I cant fathom the amount of work it will take to tame 1730hp in a little ass gallardo. A lot easier to achieve in an old big body classic. Gotta admire the work for sure though.
I have read that article before and it's really sick, that Superleggera would even have beaten the R2 UGR racing lambo with 2005 bhp in the 1 mile. Sub 20 second runs on the standing mile and 7 second runs on the 1/4 mile sounds dirty as hell. And it also measured 2000 whp on the dyno but only 1730 cuz of slip. And the engine reving to 10,000 rpm? Sick...
Launches RWD then engages the front wheels. There's a video of this car in the air spinning the rear then engages the front. They're building a 2500awhp Saleen S7 with the same system :}
i dont know, talk to him. but 1730hp on a street like this means that in first gear, he is not using 1730hp. so the times will be off. maybe with huge slicks and awd it would show different numbers, but it is what it is. everything adds up in my book
this car is set up for a mile, not a quarter. your comparison is irrelevant, but it does a great job of showing your level of maturity and understanding. oh, and this very car holds the moscow unlimited record btw ;) just sayin'...
Yes, you should take your own advice. This is a Superlegga (AWD V10). This one is from Total race that has both AWD and RWD on the same car. They heat the tyres in RWD, then switch to AWD to make a pull. I'll let this one pass, because I already know you'll feel dumb after looking at the pull/forums about this car. (Note how he aborts one of the pulls when only his rears spin, because he wanted all tyres moving).
No, they were not! Only RWD gallardo is LP550-2 Balboni. Then there were Bicolore and Tricolore, which both were available with LP 560-4 and LP 550-2 trims. Since then there might have been some LP550-2 special editions, but that's it.
you also have to think about wheelspin, weight, power to weight ratio, perfect shifts and the fact that its RWD..... but i agree with you because 9.6-9.8 is Golf GTI range
The boost setting at wrong, too much power for lower gears. And why RWD?? With the crazy power I imagine this think making, if it was tuned right it would be a monster. He’s just gonna blow it up
With that power it is very noticeable the amount of power is sent to the back initially. With the stock power there is barely any noticeable difference. A lot of cars start with more power to the back and then it evens out
Just cause a car has a powerful engine, it doesnt necessarily mean it will run 6s. Nobody with a TT Lambo haven't fully launched with the appropriate setup yet.
Uhm, you should probably know that basically all modern lamborghinis are 4WD. Before you say anything else they are fully selecatble with an electronic switch inside the cab.
That's an interesting 4wd system. I wonder why they would do it that way and not opposite. You would think instead of launching in rear wheel drive and then adding the front wheels driving, it would launch 4wd then switch to rear for track feel. But I don't know how these hp monsters really work.
The car is no longer 4wd, even though I like a car with raised profile tires this is just a little over done, the racing cams could account for less than 100whp and makes the car stall and have a TERRIBLE lumpy idle, so I could not agree more with your comment considering they have invested over twice the amount the car costs.
Great, thank you for clarifying. I was thinking just 1/4 mile. Oh the civic thats my profile picture from 5 years ago that you know nothing about? My previous comment had nothing to do with what I personally drive, but rather theres a $1xx,xxx car that is only getting 9sec quarters... It seemed odd to me. I know I dont own a 1700hp Lambo but I'm building a 76 Datsun 280z up from the ground by myself. What do you drive?
I'm not sure. The car made 1730 on the dyno with no problem, also hit full boost on the 2 step without missing a beat here. I was told the turbos went out, which is where the white smoke came from, oil blow by.
and btw second part of the movie about this car hopefully coming out this summer because it have more power and reliability then before now! BUT owner of this lambo have another trick up his sleeve and its called saleen s7 tt awd also coming out this summer.
Edit, i mean 2 seperate computers , one for low boost , and then one to take over imidietly after he reaches 1.5 bar , yes yes iknow i might sound wicked , but my guts tell me its that
what is not her day are you serious you hit the rev limiter more than 100 times in max before you start is natural the engine take a damage and that last so much is a miracle
