DRIFT is not bigger than RAG to RICHES. DRIFT is a hot song right now. RAGS to RICHES is the biggest songs that will not stop performing by TJ until is career done
Drift a him biggest STREAMING SONG. RU-vid views anuh store badman. Songs revenue come from streaming not RU-vid. Drift have the most numbers ina store fi him
You can’t compare sales right now when he’s known to a song that was a break out hit. Because obviously when an artiste is known his songs will naturally seem to go further based on already attaining a fan base, it takes reasoning in life to understand these things and not statistics. As the stats and numbers aren’t always right now more people have phones and devices than years ago only people that know what it was like before everyone had a device would understand. You have songs on RU-vid that don’t have a million views for kartel, and they were very big hits back in the day at that time you went on your desktop to watch them. Doesn’t mean if it were now it wouldn’t have 50 million views. Rags to riches is what made Teejay, Teejay y’all people just think hype will outdo long lasting songs. Couple years from now nobody nah medz drift as much as rags to riches. As it has meaning and everyone can relate.
@@papichulo3987 It is impossible to compare views now with songs that was not release in that time. Even now i have a view that there is artificial hits and certified hits of the dancehall. some songs with lots of views are not certified hits of the dancehall so they don't have the impact when they are delivered on stage.
The divide comes because a lot of executive producers hide composees, remove their producer tags, NEVER mention them in interviews and generally mislead the public into thinking that they created the riddim. A lot of composers are treated like dirt
Dat reach me. Man link mi fi riddim secretly planning to put Shawn Storm pon it and no mention a who mek di riddim. Glad mi have di files and dem dated. SO nuh baddy cyaa call me liard

@@tmirecords4955 he clearly said one of the producers now working with Dane Ray, he gets 50% of the track? 50% for doing what? That’s unethical business. It’s only right for Jamaican culture lol.
@@marcspecialyou know nothing bout the music business. Have you ever published any song in America? A song is lyrics and music. 50% instruments and 50% is lyrics. Learn dat . Whoever own the backing track is entitled to 50%
@@FC-xc3zy what you just has nothing to do with the fact that people like this gentleman had no hand in producing the actual musical composition and no hand in writing any of lyrics but is attempting to take 50% of the producers half of the song (which is 25%) for doing absolutely nothing.
Mac is not a producer he didn't produce anything he promoted the song so he's a promoter. People need to start use the right terms and stop confuse people
Panda did state in the interview that Mack is entitled to a percentage of the masters, so Mack will be getting compensated from his share of the Masters, and Panda did state that the Warner deal is a publishing deal, which Mack would not be entitled to any shares of the publishing. The masters and the publishing seems to be the main issue here. Yes Mack's effort propelled the song, but Panda and Tjay brought the song to life in the first place, he was brought in after the fact.
The song features Mac as an artist as stated by Panda hence why panda built an artist profile and feature himself on chronic law song. All parties signed off on paperwork and they need to understand the game more
@@venomsupepanda said that mac took it upon himself to distrubute the song and add himself and teejay as artists without including panda as an artist. Panda said he never agreed to that and asked to have it fixed
@@benja303 and that a foolishness because the contract was drafted after that for the royalty split and publishing. Panda a learn the hard way how this business work because Teejay listed as producer as well, wah him produce? If you read the official release of the song Teejay and Mac listed as artist and Mac, Teejay (top Braff music) and Panda listed as producer. Read the fine print and dispute anything you Nuh in agreement with, it's as simple as that. All parties signed off on the finished project so how Teejay guh pon the media and acting like everything is news to him? As the man stated, artist management is who negotiate not artists.
Why would he downplay panda in the whole interview. But in my opinion its panda riddim and teejay words. All Mac did was mix the song and because he is in the streets doing uptown and parties they gave him to promote it. Its as simple as that. All they gotta do is come to an agreement and make sure Mac get his thing.
As far as mi see it Dj Mac try thief the song fi true, when he got the masters it was disputed about the rights he went ahead an uploaded the song he was told to redistribute it, then it was decided it will fuck with streams, so if u nuh get nuh flow money dj mac, so be it cause u one a nyam distribution , be fair mon
Everybody a jump pon the man song a teejay mek the song bro it nuh matter a who produced it teejay a good fucking artist melody clarity everything teejay do your thing youth yuh must reach far and can’t stop yuh because yuh have natural talent
I'm happy that someone actually did their research about the music business...kudos to Panda. Too many times you see these so called "producers" who can't even knock a pan but they want to claim 50% 😂
Regarding the DJ Mac X Panda situation, the most important thing that was said was When Panda mentioned that DJ Mac upon receiving the Mastered version of the song 1st, He went ahead & distributed the song himself, that was an absolute fuckery move.. Adding whatever meta data he felt like 🤦♂️ 👀, young Composers & Producers unnu just be careful yere
@@venomsupe. if you have a distribution account with say Distrokid, Cdbaby, Tunecore ect there's nothing to sign off on, if u listen to what was said, the song wasn't pulled to avoid messing up the streaming numbers he said he spoke to Mac for him to add the relevant info & as time go by it wasn't done. Learning this it makes sense why Teejay said Mac was trying to steal the track bcoz that's what that is, & well haven't seen anyone dispute that statement so far
Mac listed as both artist and producer so he's entitled to a percentage of the publishing and the masters. They all signed off on this enuh as admitted by Panda
The FIX need to Fix up them studio. Change your rub out handle chairs, reel out mat and get a better table. Naro u making money off RU-vid and don't want to fix up the studio. It doesn't look good
Mac promoted and help to enhance the song from tik tok to real life however he isn’t the producer so panda wasn’t wrong by saying don’t take credit for it all. Both Mac & Panda have their lane and do what they do well .
This music industry is consisted of a lot of unprofessional individuals who are mere chasing money instead of trying to create a brand for themselves. No matter what stage you are involved, contractual arrangements must be paramount. It is obvious this situation with Panda, Tee Jay and DJ Mac is a mess. The person being interviewed has some good points but he has a shown a degree of arrogance. It is obvious that he prejudiced towards Mac. To be really honest, each person involved in the project should be given their credit and due financial reward. Tee Jay needs to have a proper management structure. Artists need to stop using their friends to manage their business. Give up some of your earnings and pay professional persons to protect your brand and your future income.
Teejay is managed and signed to solid agency who told him, by admission, to not go on the media so he has good management he's just not listening to his manager. It's a mess because Teejay trying to pull a fast one on everyone. Mac listed as both artist and producer so he's entitled to a percentage of the publishing and the masters. They all signed off on this enuh as admitted by Panda
Feel like these dj/executive producer are on promotional drive to heighten their importance in the overall creation of project especially the creative aspect that they have the least input. They are trying to get a bigger percentage than their input really value..... Overall I think this is a dangerous road they are going down and this will lead to more problems..... I sense a bit of slickness with this 17 music guy and DJ mac as well from the get go. The music industry has become too heavily financial drive and this going to be damaging to the music moving forward especially the creative side.
Rightly so because these so-called "executive producers" and djs who call themselves producers diminish the creative process of the actual hands on people like its not as or not important at all....they feel entitled to the industry because the have the links and connection to the artist that a "beat maker" doesn't and they're trying to change the meaning of a producer like someone who makes beat is not a producer how can you call yourself a producer if you have no creative addition to the whole process of the song and input don't make you a producer
@@tajaymiller6623 great comment. And I am not generalizing but most of these guys are 'Uptown' individual with some level of education seeing a opportunity to insert themselves evolving from just djs but into production which is ok but I sense a 'craftsman pattern' developing...... They see DJ kalid and Rameish etc doing it so why not. Looking to see how this develops.
"Fuck that nigga?" Jah know we a lose ee identity slowly bit surely. The world use to look to Jamaica for the new trends, now we a follow the world to rass.
Nothing wrong with that business model approach that is taking a negotiated point amount off the mechanical rights to the record for producing the visuals. As for publishing that should be a negotiated agreement to earn from the use of the work. A music video in and of itself can be regarded as the finished work as long as it carry the original master of the recording meaning it can be distributed as an official gramaphone...

Big bro, I know you picking up for producers, I understand, but if you read up on music contracts, the publishing is owned by the composer and the writers, not because Jamaicans been doing this forever if the sound recording cant make you enough, just dont produce or learn how to make beats youtube can teach you
