When it’s flipped you guys don’t support other Caribbean music at all and that is causing a division or a start of competition for other to start supporting their own. Firstly there are basic geographic issues in your comparisons. Maybe it's ignorance. Maybe it's intentional. There are 52 countries in Africa, each larger and more diverse than Jamaica. Lagos, a city in Nigeria has around 20 million people. The whole continent has 1 billion people. When you don't understand basic facts, you make silly comparisons.

Comparing the music industry of a little Island with the one of a whole continent is not relevant ,but as an cultural impact Dancehall had more superstars and Grammy artists than afrobeats plus it was and it is a huge influence for both afrobeat and reggaeton geners!

There's 3 mil people in Jamaica.. 250 million in Nigeria alone. Not to mention the population in American and Europe. For Dancehall and Reggae to be as popular as it is it's pretty insane. Afrobeat and Reggaeton are just another Genre of Dancehall and Reggae. Jamaica is the mother and father. Jamaica has so many more popular artist than the whole of Afrobeat. It's not even close.

Anybody can see and hear a similarity with a few Afrobeat Artist style while some using a choice of words in their songs that are influenced from Dancehall.It’s just their target are easily capture b/c of the similarities that was already established,in their regions and now they can make it their own through younger generations.it the same like Reggaeton. Jamaican Dancehall of old is still relevant and plays very much in North America but these new crop of so called Jamaican artists try to be North American too much. They have deviated from the true organic dancehall sound and that's why many are not crossing over into mainstream markets. Let's face it .Jamaica has a tiny population of 2.8 million plus maybe another 3 million in the diaspora. Nigeria alone has millions in their country, UK, and North America.
