OMG!!!The fuzzy fiber light thing in the center console literally took me back almost 30 years and there were mushrooms involved.A couple naked girls were involved also so it wasnt a complete waste!!!

Answering to the Tuffenuff77, In Europe all trucks use inline6's up to abt 480BHP some alot higher like Volvo's up to760BHP, but Merc, MAN, and Scania's use V8's... N all testing with truck magazines the Scania always out pulls any other european trucks abt, its highest ftlb of torque for the 730BHP is 2585... Id say all our engines are producing around the same averagely mate...
@Statimtek yup. there is a video of a scania 144 / R series coming into a dead end in Australia, and it was able to swing around in the space with a trailer. Try doing that in a conventional like a Coronado or Scania T cab
In Europe, the laws about truck driving say these vehicle can't be long over 18 meters in the major part of the countries, except Scandinavia (Sweden, Norvege, Finland and Denmark). That's why the trucks in Europe are build with a chassis featuring the engine mounted directly under the cab. In This way, the transporter can have a larger trailer, so he can gain more money, instead of a longer cab tractor unit, like the bonneted cab in American truck, which doesn't make gain nothing more.

@Statimtek actually, US trucks (apart from doubles) are restricted by DoT regulations to 88,000lbs, which is equal to 39,916kg an EU semi trailer has 40,000kgs on 5 axles, 44,000kg on 6 axles. the real reason USA doesn't have small cab overs is simple, DRIVERS HATE THEM !!
If I had to run NYC every day in a 15M refer I'd prefer a cabover. Right now I am in ATL in a little single axle International. there are day when I could use a cabover.

i was wondering if any one knows how many foot pounds of torque those v-8 scania's have. in the usa our inline 6's average about 1850 and up.i am a fan of the v-8's here in the us but we stoped using them 30 years ago because they would not hold the rpm's in the hills. mack used them until 94 i believe.
