@@littlemoth4956 Subaru owners. You do NOT want to blow a head gasket on a Subaru. It’s an expensive pain on any car, but it’s especially so with Subarus because their engines are boxers. That means that the heads are on the side of the engine rather than the top, so the entire engine has to be removed to access the heads and make the repair. It rarely happens on an unmodified car, but the problem is that Subarus tend to attract boy racer types who want to make more power. If they don’t screw up the engine by trying doing some job themselves or neglecting maintenance, they get overambitious with their modifications and push the engine too hard.
@@TBustah If they saved up and put all that head gasket money into actually building the engine proper, it can make decent power. But then again, LS swap is also an answer.

An unmodified engine will rarely blow, but Subarus tend to attract boy racer types who either neglect maintenance, try to do some job themselves and screw it up, or just push it too hard. When it happens, just getting to the head to fix it is a lot of work because (like I said) the heads are on the sides. We had a similar issue with my mom’s Windstar when it blew a head gasket. That engine wasn’t a boxer, but it was a transverse V6 crammed into a relatively small space. I don’t remember which head it was, but it was probably the one in the back (the one harder to access), because the labor for fixing it would’ve been more than the car (almost eight years old at that point) was worth. The 3.8 Essex was notorious for this happening.
