I'm likely going to be a Behavioral/Cognitive psychologist as I am an RBT studying to become a BCBA or BCBA-D! I find these videos really helpful.

Great video! I think its interesting how many options we actually have. I’m personally interested in getting my doctorate in clinical psychology but I’m quite intrigued by clinical psychopharmacology especially :) Keep up the good work.

Psychosocial oncology as a subspecialty of health psychology is super interesting to me as someone who has been personally affected by cancer. Definitely look into it if you haven’t already!

I will! I've really been leaning towards specializing in health psychology lately, I'm loving the options that it provides

Hi Phil, thank you so much for posting all these videos! I am currently thinking of pursuing a PsyD in Clinical Psychology and looking to hopefully start applying for programs this year. A couple of question's I had on this video was: 1. Are these all specialties you can choose to focus on when you start pursuing a Clinical Psychology PsyD degree? Or are they just different fields within Psychology only that would require completely different programs for each specialty? 2. I am very interested in relationships/breakups, Narcissism, Divorce, helping others heal and also really like the CBT/SFBT focus as well. Would this be more of a counseling psyd or a clinical psyd focus? 3. I have a Master's Degree in IO Psychology and a Bachelor's in Psychology. Would it be possible to still get into a PsyD degree with this? Would love to chat more about this if it's possible!

Great question! I'll leave the link below www.apa.org/ed/graduate/specialize/recognized these answers are specific for U.S., not sure about international programs outside the U.S. 1. Great question, these are specialities that you can pursue while in graduate school specifically a clinical/counseling psychology program psyd/phd. Each program will offer different tracks, for example neuropsychology, forensic, sport psychology, pediatric, etc. On the school's websites they will specify which track they offer and the courses that you will take while in the program. Important to note that specialties like school psychology, sport psychology or forensic psychology you don't necessarily need a phd/psyd and may only need a masters depending on what state you live in. 2. As for your second question, I believe those modalities will be taught in any clinical psychology program whether counseling, phd/psyd. If it helps you can look at the websites of schools, look up the faculty members, and read their description of what modality they are taught in, chances are if you go to that program they will teach that modality in the school since the faculty members have training or specialize in those modalities. 3. And your last question, yes, depending on what school you apply to, in the U.S. you only need a bachelors gpa over 3.0, and maybe some research experience, the GRE, Letters of recommendation, and statement of purpose or essays that may be given depending on the program. If you know what school you'd like to attend you can look up the specific requirements there.

Thank you for your awesome and beneficial videos. I'm an M.A clinical psychology student, can I do my Ph.Din social psychology or personality psychology?

No problem! And depending on what program you apply to I don’t see why not! Specific programs like that however may not have a clinical aspect to it so I’m not sure you’d be able to therapy with clients and they may be catered towards more academic and research roles that clinically focused, I’m not quite sure but typically that information can be found on those school websites. Best of luck to you, that sounds like a great combination!
