This isn't abuse people. The cat needed a bath. All babies cry when they first bathe. It's normal. Abuse is letting an animal be dirty, get sick and not fed
Obviously it's an orphan and the mother would normally clean the kitten, but without a mother it has to be done this way. Clearly the little guy is being well taken care of
Show empathy and NOT so rough. I have watched videos of Coco and Mimi from small kittens to grown cats. Hardly a meow whether a bath/shower and drying with towels GENTLY not rubbing fur up and down.
To all the people saying its abuse. Unless you would do different in the same position and lick the kitten like its mother would, then you have no clue what your talking about. so dont waste your breath. Everyone needs a bath, this kitten just drew the short end of the stick.
I was always against bathing cats and kittens, but when I started fostering orphaned babies, I found it was necessary, because they cannot keep themselves clean. Just wiping them off won't do, because they have no mother to really clean them, and a mother cat's tongue is the best. I had one little litter that pooped and peed all over each other until they got litter trained. Cats are normally and naturally very clean animals, but the babies need a lot of help. This video is so cute.
I'm bottle feeding three, 18-day old kittens and I would prefer not to bathe them, but like you, I find it necessary to do so when I don't get to them in time and they poop all over themselves. It's really not dangerous, as long as the kittens are bathed in warm water, completely dried, and kept warm to prevent hypothermia.
No baby likes a bath. As someone who has rescued/fostered many kittens, I saw nothing wrong with how this little one was being bathed. The kitten was being cared for: bathed and fed. Even sponge baths get this reaction from kittens. Obviously, a kind heart was behind this care. Bravo!
***** think it was so reward him for being such a good boy after his bath :) He knows that once he has a bath he can have a bottle! :) it's good training
@ Alexis lamb too hot for the kitten not the hand? Are you serious bee just as newborn humans when being given their bath a parent always check the water and just as human newborns ,kittens always going to MEOW while being bathed same as a lot of human newborns fuzz while bathed no matter if is the perfect temperature a kitten is going fuzz for crying out loud is a baby kitten that needs to be clean as it don't have a mom to clean it seriously can't you tell by the gentleness and care that is in good hands instead of looking for something bad and be negative to be glad this animal is in good hands and not on the streets where it would have been dead people shame for looking for a bad reason and not be glad this animal is alive and well cared for how ridiculous too hot for the kitten seriously people look for anything bad to try to moan about
To fedormorales: I am sure you feed so many starving children that you take up the slack for the rest of us. There are a lot of good people in the world. Some of them do this, others do that. It all contributes to the good. We do what we can, and what we are able to do. We do what our hearts call us to, and what we can afford. It is all of God. Goodness comes from God. And God bless those who take care of hungry people, and hungry animals.
there's nothing wrong with tips, but some people here are acting like this is full on abuse. I'm no cat expert (definitely prefer dogs), and I obviously acknowledge that kittens are fragile (partly WHY I prefer dogs), but I don't think anything in this video would have had fatal consequences. Apparently there was no mother- THAT's why the kitten was being bathed. Even then, did nobody stop to think that this video is like 3 years old? That cat is full grown and won't even remember this anymore- he's not traumatised or anything!
It's a lot less traumatic in a bowl with a washcloth for them to stand on. Then rinse with a jug. (I volunteer at a cat rescue). And you're too rough patting him that hard. Kittens are really fragile til at least 16weeks.
I don't think it's abuse since you weren't drowning him, but you need to be MUCH more gentle. For example, I put my kitten in a tub of shallow lukewarm water so she could still walk around and not feel trapped, and used one finger to wash her because she's so small and you don't need much force to get her clean. Also, when drying it off, NEVER pat it that hard, you should pat gently everywhere except their head, they hate that. Just some advice for it you get another kitten that small
She was a little rough with the kitten but it's not being abused. Things could far worse for this little guy. It's being fed and washed, that's far better than being eaten by a predator.
Hi , I recommend u should put him in a tub than under pouring water like in the bathtub with water and a cloth so it has something to grip on because he might have been a little freaked out when water started pouring over him so recommend put him in a tub with a cloth in it.... Not judging you just some tips so he doesn't get stressed out
Right, they all cry at first, they will get used to it and be clean smelling,I HATE IT EHRN PEOPLE WANT YOU TO PET SMELLY KITTIES I EONT HAVE THEM IF THEY ARE NOT BATHED .
MissEnigmatic81 a kitten gets a "regular bath" several times a day by its mothers tongue. just wiping it with a damp cloth (the surface isnt the same as a cat-tongue) doesnt remove all food remains it just spreads part of it into the fur and invites parasite and bacteria so just because you dont see something doesnt mean its sanitized. think if you drop ketchup onto your jeans then trying to clean it with a damp cloth. of course a kitten doesnt drop dead from a few bacteria but you shouldnt invite it when its not necessary and a warm bath doesnt kill a kitten either nor does it get traumatized. :)
Um, actually... kittens being hand reared aren't litter trained and have lots of accidents that need a good scrub in the bath. If you want to actually learn about taking care of kittens, I suggest KittenLady. She has a great series.
As everyone is saying " Oh this is Animal Abuse " it's not, it's just a bit harsh giving an 18 day old kitten a bath, because my kittens are 1 month old and they have their mother to clean then, but they will learn to clean themselves so I beg you to NEVER do that again PLEASE.
this woman is not "bathing" the kitten. She is performing "hydro," which encourages elimination of the bladder and bowel. The mother performs this function until kittens are about 3 weeks old. If the mother is absent for whatever reason, this must be done before every feeding.
To anyone who thinks this is abuse: you are absolutely right. What kind of monster holds a camera in one hand and pets a kitteng with the other when they could easily pet the kitteng with both hands? A travesty, I say!
I'm saying a less abusive owner would have spontaneously grown a third hand to give little kitty tickles to a little kitty. Some would say that bending the rules of nature is a step too far, but I say it isn't far enough! (yes i am joking random extra people reading this you don't have to tell me this isn't really abuse i know)
***** Anyone who ends their message "A travesty, I say!" is not to be taken seriously. Although I maintain the cameradude could have put down the camera and dispensed with the kitteng tickles.
She's doing the right thing that kitten needed a bath, we all know cats hate water that's why the lil guy was crying. At least the kitten is being well taken care of and not abused
+midnstellarcupcakes called kneading, my 10 year old cat still does it at times, I just try to have her do it where I have no skin bare but you can still feel it...but it is done in love so you grin and bare it.
Sometimes you need to bath Baby Kittens especially Rescueies because they can be crawling with fleas and that is bad for them. But you have to make sure to keep them warm. A baby kitten cannot regulate its own body temperature.🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈
Looks so cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good there is people taking care of these homeless and abandoned animals.BUT you people are rough and hear you speak no empathy. Please watch video of Coco and Mimi their owners are so gentle and kittens have so much trust and love to their owners.
The sweet little kitten keep trying to smergal the bottle and its keeps getting frustrated. Lol !!! ( you know like when a kitten looks like it kneading dough on the mother's teet to work the milk out of her nipple?) I'm pretty sure it's called smergaling?? If I'm wrong just lmk.
I assume this kitten was an orphan? Since he is being bottlefed I'm sure he is.That is the only reason I would agree with giving a young kitten a bath, if their mother isn't around to do it.
It's just a bath you babies. Yes she should've had a bath after beeing fed too. Yes putting the bottle in her eye, kinda bad. Kittens and cats will scream about water no matter what the temp. They hate water because it mats their fur.
I hope you have stopped taking care of kittens. watch some videos to learn how to bathe a kitten. It is traumatic for him or her.I know this video is old, but teaches how NOT to do it.
you should never bathe a kitten that small because it will make them cold and since they can't regulate heat they can die from a simple cold. You should take a cloth or paper towel with warm water and clean them gently wherever they are dirty and help stimulate their bowels that way as well.
I am not sure why he needed to be bathed. He didn't really look all that dirty. You could have used one of those cat wet wipes and brushed him clean. Unless he had flees of course.
She is very small i feel like forcefully holding the cat and she seems not comportable and the nipple of the bottle going to the eyes nose of the cat, plz be gentle with the small one
