I'm already a fan of this podcast. Since Trynd says we will be staying dark for years, I think you guys should go all the way back to Runeterra lore day 1 and make a series from that covers everything in detail and how it could relate to the mmo. I personally prefer hearing a conversation than a script read of the lore as it is easier for me to digest while focusing on other tasks in life.
I don't think they'll be parting away from the class system... Recently they rebranded LoL's classification of champions to fit them within "MMO classes" (Juggernaut, Enchanter, Assassin,...) so I think those will be classes in the MMO
On a given fight in WoW you barely use 5 spells. In GW2 you might have fewer abilities at once but you can swap to something that works better for an upcoming encounter or a place in the open world. Honestly its pretty close to the same. But you are locked into what you chose at the beginning of combat. I personally like that lot. I hope to see a bunch of skills but you have to chose what your current abilities are in the moment to moment gameplay.
I think they will do combat like Kingdom hearts 1. Where it is action combat in 3rd person that has a lock on feature, like tab target, but which will translate well to consoles.
I don't mind if the Riot MMO is a copy of WoW but I just don't want tabbed combat. That is the only thing that I don't like about WoW and its not even WoW's fault, tabbed combat was a feature of the time it was in, its 2024+ tabbed combat just feels dated.
