@@jamesklinski3890 if you actually follow Kyle, you'll know he's a scratch golfer. Not PGA level obviously, but he'll shoot par or below at almost any golf course.
"Next up on the tee in this year's 2020 PGA Championship, all the way from Crofton, Maryland. He is currently the No. 1 ranked World Long Drive Champion in the world, the winner of the Tennessee Big Shots long Drive Competition, and the man with much smaller calves than Phil Mickelson, here is Kyle Berkshire!" Congrats on 30k!
No shit! He's from Crofton Maryland? Wow That's like a half an hour from where I used to live at. I don't think there's a golf course in Maryland that could hold him
I don't golf, the only reason I came to this video is that I fish for trout and salmon right along the shore in many of the shots in this video. But when I do golf I always think the game would be much more fun if there weren't all those trees, sand, and water.
RU-vid recommended me this video; I know nothing about golf and had never heard of long drive contests, let alone Kyle. It was weirdly satisfying to watch. The burst of energy of his swings is amazing.
AndrewLetit FlowWolf that’s what I was thinking I don’t think I saw this guy hit a single fairway - without caddie I would never find any of his shots - looks like he’s playing cow pasture
I love your mentality where if your not getting beat up a little by the course than you not playing proper golf. In the moment is sucks but then you realize that’s why we play golf.
Great playing on a brutal course. For a long driver guy your game is actually pretty freaking good. You’re talented beyond belief and like watching. The pure sound of your iron shots is my fav.
Kyle, what a wonderful video! My late mom, who recently passed at the age of 91, was an artist who specialized in minimalist landscape paintings and she would've absolutely loved this video. So many of the shots you captured reminded me of her work. If you weren't already my favorite golfing RU-vidr, this one would've done it. Thank you, so much.
Awesome round man! Cool to see you battle it out on the long holes and overall course difficulty. Can't wait to watch the upcoming rounds! Keep up the great work!
I played that course in 2002. Grew up nearby and played Blackwolf Run a couple of times before that (another great Dye course). I distinctly remember being in the really tall front bunker on #6 for my 3rd shot, and my caddie said, "try to get out once, and if you can't, hit it out backwards". I JUST missed getting out. It was ridiculous how high that bunker was. I also played from the 2nd easiest tees, and it seemed insane to me just how far and how hard it would be from the pro tees. The 18th hole has the best look of any hole I've seen. Good video, was fun watching you play.
I also caddy here, love the video cool to see someone give Whistling Straits the credit it deserves. Shout out to Alex, well done man. That bomb on 15 tho 👀👀
Great round. Played there in the end of May. Kicked my ass. Pace of play was horrible, too expensive, but was an experience I'll always remember. Glad I did it. It was great to see your ball flight using trackman.
Fun to see you play one of our Wisconsin courses. I agree with you that it is more fun to play a tough course even if your score is higher. 401 yd carry..................unreal!
Don’t worry about using the driver for our entertainment, at least I’m not worried about it. I enjoy watching you hit a 2 iron just as much, it sounds like a missile when you hit the ball with your lower irons. Don’t get me wrong I do enjoy watching you hit your driver, but I want to see you be just as dangerous with every club in your bag. Great job and looking forward to more
Hey Kyle, you don’t need to make excuses. 8000 yards into a stiff breeze is no mean feat. A challenge like this sets the men from the boys. Would say your swing held up nicely but a by product of your speed is a high ball flight which unless arrow straight will be exaggerated in the wind. On days like that short game is key, keeps momentum from a good score to a poor score. Great content and wish you every success.
Broke 80 at Whistling Straits. From the tippy tips, with Michigan blowing in your face half the loop. That's excellent. Also, the 2i is impressive on its own... don't need to apologize for it!
Kyle, this is one of your best videos yet. This video clearly shows how golf can be made interesting again. I much prefer this vs the cookie-cutter courses that are being used on the current PGA circuit, the ones that mostly favor a certain style of play.
Great effort Kyle. That is a monster of a course and tremendously difficult. You did an awesome job. Great to watch the video and you play again. Can't wait to watch more
Brilliant video. Great to see yourself and the course. Playing right from the tips.+7 in that wind first look. Pretty darn good kyle. Some insane pin positions. So so tough. Shout out to your caddie. Massive help. Overall really enjoyable. Thanks.
Fantastic Kyle. Glad to see u finally changed your putter. Yes playing with a caddy makes a huge difference, especially on such a tough course. Breaking 80 well done. . My guess was wrong, i picked Bethpage Black !! That course is amazing, and very similar to one i have played in Tasmania called Barnbougle Dunes. Cant wait till the next 18hole vlog :)
I went to the PGA Championship and the Ryder Cup at Whistling and the video broadcast does not give the course justice on how difficult it is. The amount of blind tee shots, dog legs, 15-yard wide fairway drive landing spots, and raised greens with no flat spots is just terrifying for a normal golfer.
Kyle, If you are trying to improve stroke wise, here is a huge tip with no swing change. You open and close the putter when you putt and the putter you use is more for square to square. I dont make a habit of giving my opinion but when I was young, I putted with a Zebra and as soon as i changed to a Ping Anser style, night and day. Give it a shot and youll stop missing left all the time.
Great round Kyle! In that wind, at 8000, with those pins...keep working man, your game is greatly improving. Maybe take that caddie with you everywhere as well, he def helped you on the putting greens with reading them...congrats on hitting 30k subscribers as well
New subscriber here. Dude you do a great job on your RU-vid videos. Shot well, interesting focused commentary, and you adjust the audio when needed. Even though you hit it miles ahead of us regulars, we could learn a lot from your course management, mental game, and attitude. Keep it up!
Just finished watching there. I think your putting from distance was what kept the round in check throughout. I can't wait to see the Ryder Cup here in a few months. Will play your video hole by hole to get a good understanding of what I'm seeing
30k🥂 Skyrockets at The Straits! What a track. I'd love to see you do a special on finding that magic putter. Ben Hogan ones look trick. The ball lives in the hole. 🕳️
I have been at all the PGA events at Whistling and yes that is the Sunday pin at #12, only saw 2 birdies in 2004 all day and 1 was a chip in from that bunker on the lake side below the hole. Where you putted from was a popular spot that day. Great video from a great course in Wisconsin.
When hitting that bombs i would like to hear the caddies reaction, because these guys are use to guys like me that gets my money worth on a course, but seeing someone like you must be a nice turn of pace for them.
9 iron from 222? Thats just sick. Great round. Totally agree about hard courses. I like knowing I better bring it or its gonna be a long day. Plus I have a good short game which tends to give me an advantage against my buddies on courses like this.
Love watching you play been going through so many course vlogs, you hit a driver further than i often take 2 or 3 shots haha. Keep it up man the progression is unreal over the last year
Wow what a honor to pick Whistling Straits as the site to celebrate 30k subscribers. Congratulations! Hit like and subscribe is what RU-vid is always for.
If you ever make it down to east Texas, come play Westwood Shores Golf Club! It’s not a hard course by any means. But it would be a great course for you to shoot a real low score. Congrats on 30k!
Great video! Whistling Straits is a bucket-lister for me. Don't feel bad though... I was -1 thru 7 at the Cliffs at Keowee Falls (a tough Nicklaus track) and shot 94 with an eagle on the back 9 :)
imagine having the money to travel the world playing golf and making videos . What a life When we were kids Kyle hit a hole in one against me in a match play junior club championship lol 150 yards. he hit driver..... he was 7ish years old
Congrats on 30K your such an amazing inspiration to me and many others, i love your videas so much they inspire me to be a better golfer, thanks for the awsome content and advice.
Love this course! I went there for the US Men's Senior Open years ago, but have not played it. You should play Sand Valley and Erin Hills while you're in Wisconsin!
