Well done Luke! I don't think I'll ever get tired of this series. It's fascinating watching people do what they love and do it well, but the people themselves are also always interesting and keep me coming back!! Bravo Sir 👍
Unsweetened soy milk with tofu, ... Luke is so smart. The street food in this episode is really rich and attractive, makes me want to go there and eat those food, great job, thanks for sharing!👍😀👏 無糖豆漿配豆腐,盧克真是絕頂聰明, 這一集的街頭美食真是豐富又吸引人, 令人想前去大快朵頤一番,謝謝分享!
Oh my goodness, I will always miss HK food. It's 24/7 affordable goodness of so many cuisines but especially Cantonese. That curry beef is just insanely top tier, but so many of those dishes are just epic. Great video!
@@qqqhinata8349 :I’ve been walking around HongKong Island, KowloonAnd the New Territories all over for 25 years! But never eat such good Dim Sum in the street!
Love your video, Luke! I was born in Hong Kong and since my mother passed away recently, I have been dreaming about going back to see my birthplace (left since I was 2 years old) and taste all the great food I've heard my mother talk about. Seeing your visit to Hong Kong really make my desire to go back that much greater! My mother traveled to Hong Kong and China in the 80's and couldn't stop talking about the great fresh tasting food; especially the roast goose...unfortunately, they don't have that here in the U.S. Thank you so much for this video! Going back for a visit is definitely on my bucket list. Hopefully, the pandemic will end soon and it will be safe to travel abroad again.
HK is no longer the city your late mom called home. For your own safety, don’t think of visiting unless it is delivered from the evils of China. Besides, more and more chefs and restaurants owners are fleeing from HK, so, you won’t find them even if you buy a flight ticket. Instead, may be you will find them in UK and Canada.
@@icyhugs Thank you, icyhugs! I am well aware of the turmoil in the Orient. It is certainly not the place that my mother was fortunate enough to visit. I am hoping that someday Hong Kong will have the peace and freedom that it once had when it was under British rule. My desire to visit is more to see my birthplace. Hopefully...someday...
@@sallyyim4427 Don't embrace someone with a nickname "icyhugs" lest you get a cold. Hong Kong has returned to normalcy after a year of color revolution upheaval openly supported and carried out by sinister American and British imperialists. Welcome back to your birthplace where you can enjoy real Hong Kong delicacies that nowhere else on earth can deliver. Even simple dishes like Choi Sum or Kai Lan with oyster sauce are a hundred times better than those offered by "real" Hong Kong restaurants (run by Hongkongers) in the U.S., U.K. or Canada. And don't forget a bowl of fantastic Rice Noodles with Fish Balls or a cup of excellent hot Milk Tea (even at a Dai Pai Dong on a street corner), let alone the world famous Roast Goose that only Hong Kong can provide (whereas you only taste the much inferior Roast Duck overseas). Keep up the spirit!
@@jackchiu7560 My reluctance to travel to Hong Kong is not because of politics...COVID is the issue. I have not and will not give up my desire to travel there one day. My mother had told me about the great food...much tastier than the food here; one reason being that meat was never frozen...always fresh. The main reason I wanted to visit is (like I had mention) to visit my birthplace. Thank you for enlightening me and boost of confidence.
@@sallyyim4427 I understand your concern about the pandemic gripping Hong Kong recently. The zero tolerance policy against the virus is still prevalent in Hong Kong and China. Just wait until everything calms down, hopefully soon. I wish you a happy trip in search of your root as well as an enjoyment of Hong Kong delicacies.
Thank you for this compilation of your past Hong Kong vlogs. I remembered watching all of them. My mouth was watering the entire time. Your description for everything you ate is right on the money. I miss Hong Kong!
I also love Hong Kong food and have been to Hong Kong many times. Roast goose has a crispy skin and is delicious. The sauce on top of the goose is also delicious.
I really like that restaurant called Cafe Coral, its like a fast food chain. I just realize that i didnt get to experience a lot of HK’s street food culture. HK is definitely one of the best city in Asia. Such a nice video. Made me miss HK.
Really enjoyed this video! Thanks for posting, HK is one of my all time favorite places. Also, great job eating like a local, you really hit some good spots! I need to get back for another visit soon!
Good to see how you actually eat Hong Kong street food. Normally we only see people buying roasted meat, chop, chop, and chop without seeing people actually eating. 😁
Hi! I love your videos :) It's really funny to see people introducing food we see and eat everyday (I'm from Hong Kong), but it makes me very proud as well :)
hey! hong konger here. :D another really good food in hong kong are fishballs (specifically curry fishballs) ! you should try them out the next time you visit! :) great video overall, loved it!
Great list of must try foods in HK! Kung Wo tofu was my childhood memory, those seared tofu is so amazing, I loved them as a kid! Also another great one on your list was the cheong fun with mix sauce from Hup Yik Tai, those were AMAZING. I still dream about them at times. I miss HK foods so much. Your video gave me a taste of childhood.
i havent been back to HK in over 20 yrs. used to go there every 45 days or so and i miss the fast pace life and the endless selection of food. from the $ menu all the way to fine dining ... that little area that looks like an alley where there is nothing but japanese food shops, the nighttime street corner scallops... so much good food....
The ham Marconi in Cantonese is called “fo tut tung fun”. You has tried all food which are so local. We eat everyday. Next time you would add vinegar to the wonton noodles. Hope you enjoy
I member going to Hong Kong when I was a kid, 2013 I miss there I was there for 3 weeks made amazing friends had amazing food. Miss Hong Kong very much 🇭🇰
I love the honesty in your videos. The compilations are awesome but so are the mini tours of you destination city’s/villages. I grew up in Sumatra as an oil kid and miss all the wonderful goodies there. Thank you
Dai Pai Dong is the best food. You are so lucky to travel all Asian countries and have no fear to try out all their food. A lot of people in the US haven't really eaten a real authentic Asian/Chinese food.
Are we suposed to guess the lication? Not many vkoggers bother to name the place and give directions, but the one who do they are the ones worth watching
You are looking really happy and healthy! I loved this one! Looked so good...I think I could be convinced to take my vegetarian diet on a holiday🤣🤣. It would have been great to put the cost of each dish on the screen too. Hopefully next time?
Hi Luke, love this video but may I ask, is there a list of the names and address of each of these places? Perhaps I missed it somewhere? I love Hong Kong and their food and hope to be there soon.
Mouth drooling list of must try foods in HK! It would be great if you can put the restaurants that you visited in this video. I miss my HK foods for sure!
Jee Cheung Fun is steamed rice noodle rolls cut up into 1-2 inch rolls, and it's mixed with peanut and hoisin sauce with sesame seeds sprinkled on top. Wonton is how it's spelled in Hong Kong and in the US. Wanton is the spelling generally used in Singapore and Kuala Lumpor.
LOVELY.. Watching from England.. WOW!! Hong-Kong absolutely fabulous foods...thank you for sharing this video... Sending support.... Love Sally and Paul 🦋🌹🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
This def makes me miss HK classic street food...you did a great job covering a great range of spots.. the og restauranteurs really have had a tough few years. A couple of canto pronounciation tips: Char Charn "Tang" = closer to the tang in Tang-y apple. Char "Siu" = Siu pronounced like Sew-er rather than shau.
