Cruising on A Lake in A Canalboat
We Leave Peterborough, the only Cathedral city on the Nene, here the Nene Valley Railway runs alongside for a short time. Our destination is Alwalton. We pass the sculpture Park before ascending Orton Lock where there are three substantial sluices.
After passing Peterborough Yacht Club we keep our eyes peeled for the artificial cut, which is the access channel to Overton Lake, here we experience some of the finest mooring on the River.
After exiting the channel we experience a pleasant 4 mile stretch of English countryside passing under the lovely Milton Ferry Bridge, which as its name suggests , marks the position of a former ferry, before mooring on the Friends of the River Nene Pudding Lane mooring.

We are Patrick and Eileen. In 2018 we decided to quit the rat race by giving up our jobs and selling our home to buy a narrowboat to continuously cruise the inland waterways of the UK. We bought a 57 foot Bickerstaffe boat which we named Dunworkin.
This is a record of our journey, Our Narrowboat Quest to explore the navigable waterways of England and Wales, to continuously cruise throughout the year. Join us as we experience all seasons, the wonders of our beautiful countryside, towns, villages and cities and even our industrial heritage, nowadays an ironic contrast to its raison d'être.

We have self funded our RU-vid channel
for the last 6 years. We film and edit our channel using editing software for which we pay an annual subscription and in order to keep the music fresh we pay a monthly subscription to Epidemic sounds.
So far we have self funded all of the camera and audio equipment required.
However as we are on a limited budget any contribution towards these costs would be greatly appreciated.
