+thebanaap Seems like a typical thing, there is a story of Nicu Vlad out there by when he visited the US OTC(it's on the catalyst site): he missed both 175 and 180 then nailed 185 perfectly

I don't know, some viewers may not be aware of this, so let me spell it out for you: What you see in this video is INSANE. This guy is snatching at Olympic levels. There's a good chance that with a coach(and a few of the right chemicals) he could win a medal, maybe even gold. I've never seen somethign like this in my life. I have the utmost respect for this guy.

Clarence do you compete in the Olympics or something? Unless my googling is wrong, I just googled world record snatch for 94kg class and it says 187 kilos by some dude from Iran, and here you do 185 kilos...??? You need to do a VLOG/STORY video about ... You.
@clarence0
@clarence0 8 лет назад
+Acrobolix The world record for the 94 class is 188kg , but keep in mind I'm over weight, using straps and there's only 3 attempts in competition! (and of course there's more reasons)Snatching over 197 in training at this bodyweight would put me in a good position to be snatching 185-188 in comp and that is not easy! :)

@jujimufu And by the way he is vegan😂😂😂... we know most of olymic powerlifters cought in doping and this sports may removed if they continue this...so how the hell he do this...and he is so lean and lifting heavy...dude he should be friend with mike horn.. he is natty too....i do salute ur hardwork but vegan strength gains are out of my course...know reply to this...🙏🚹

Some people say to clarence "sir, why don't you compete at the olympics?" And I can understand why he doesn't, cos a lot of those guys are unfairly juicing. I've personally tested clarence's piss, and believe me, he's not juicing.

I was wondering in which rep ranges you train your squats? Do you always only do singles or do you do stuff like 5x5? Just curious about how you like to train.
@clarence0
@clarence0 8 лет назад
+Franks BBC It varies! When I'm just focusing on increasing my squat I do 5x5 and sometimes 3x8. When I'm focusing on olympic lifts I do 10x1 or 8x2 or 6x3
@jongeetard1259
@jongeetard1259 8 лет назад
+clarence0 I think you should do a FAQ for squats, a video or just a brief how-to on your page, since this question gets asked every video. On a side note, I've picked up "everyday" squatting recently per your old recommendation of the one PR set: crazy progress, like 5kg every session. I'm now getting my noob gains due to really giving 100% everytime and not just half-assing things.
@footiedrummer10
@footiedrummer10 8 лет назад
+Jon Geetard what is this routine your referring to? 1rm every session?
@jongeetard1259
@jongeetard1259 8 лет назад
footiedrummer10 Basically going from warm-ups where you feel things out, you pick a goal weight and reps (1-10) and then hit that one set. After that you're done for the session. Example A: my goal today was to do a set with 120-125kg. When I got to 120, it was really slow, so I backed down and did 105kg*8 for a PB Example B: Yesterday I felt awesome after a break so when singles up to 110kg felt light for pause squats, I did 115kg*3 for a 5kg PB triple

It’s insane how diff the world of Olympic lifting is to regular bodybuilding . I’m started CrossFit at 33 years old. I thought I was fairly strong for a casual lifter who never spent money on any supplements and wouldn’t even know how to track his macros let alone know what the word “macros” even really meant .280 pound flat bench, 405 pound deadlift etc. I’ve been doing CrossFit for exactly one year and my one rep max on a snatch is 130. Girls in my gym do way more than that. When we incorporate snatches into our wods I almost never do more than 95 pounds. On a good note my deadlift hit 435 and backsquat 330

Having improved your pulling strength (330kg deadlift was sick) do PB attempts still feel heavy off the floor? I know if I ever go for new pbs the first thing that strikes me as I begin from the floor is "shit this is heavy"
@clarence0
@clarence0 8 лет назад
+Adam Pabani It doesn't really matter if it feels heavy or not, if your hips are raising faster than your shoulders as the bar bar comes off the floor you're more likely to miss the lift in front. If you focus too much on deadlifts this will happen.
@bramaged

I don't know much about olympic weightlifting, but after looking at the world record for 94kg snatch, it was 188kg done in 1999 World Championships by Akakios Kakiasvilis from Greece... 3kgs under what you did here. Now is that guys in this weight class often hitting numbers close to that world record, i.e. a lot of 186 and 187 kgs, or is it that in competition it's much harder to hit these kind of numbers because of pressure; maybe the weights are calibrated so it's hard to say how much you actually did in this video, or are you a world class lifter who's talking about coaching when to the untrained eye it seems like you could be top level competitor? But I guess in weightlifting 3kgs is actually a considerable amount at this high of a level.
