Just because we don't buy fuseboards the same as you Nick don't mean we're not listening to you! I'm just not organised enough to actually order stuff on line, if I were I'd be ordering on the CEF website too. I tend to go in and collect stuff as I know it's in stock having said that 3 phase stuff often isn't and I order that in advance, which just wears me out and loses me the will to live. As does second fixing sockets and downlights, completely agree with Adam about f.... cable clamps on those things, such a FAG. Thanks I loved this video, the music as ever was excellently found and I know how difficult it can be to find appropriate stuff that's not just hateful. I never succeed and give up mostly on that score. You've got so much energy... good luck with the mega job on those three care homes. As long as they're stripping them, I just had an EICR of a lovely house that was once a care home, I assumed it d be lovely, as the house was, but they'd done nothing with the electrics and there was 400mA of earth leakage and the RCD was burnt out and stuck closed - so when I changed it.... not a chance of it staying on. It still has a main switch module installed in its place two weeks later. I dunno what to do with it!

Nice vid.. Here’s my tip. I’ve found that on the brother printer, all the standard templates run out of line. Set the units up for 18.1 mm for mcbs/ RCBOs etc and 36.2 for main switches etc. That will keep everything perfectly in line right through the board.

@johnhoward2104 5 лет назад
Trunking should be to BS EN 50085, and JB's to BS EN 60670-22. Perhaps the question is then is does trunking meet a suitable standard to basically act as a JB? 526.5 states suitable accessory, and equipment enclosure, for terminations and joints in a live conductor, and Codebreakers seems to suggest a C3 when made in trunking - but I could be wrong.

We like to use T&E to connect in cookers and ovens, etc (as permitted by 521.9.3), but given they were new units with presumably the manufacturers installation instructions available, what did they say should be used (typically, they say e.g. HO5... a flex, which may or may not be heat resistant, as required). Also, re accessibility for disabled persons, perhaps it's good practice to put switches in cupboards near the front of the cupboard to enable access; which helps comply with building regs, where required.

I saw on a video that cheap LED lights will cause flicker on a camera. In fact one way to test this is to use a mobile. I tried this and found that the cheap ones do cause flicker and the more expensive ones don't. A bit more research revealed that the more expensive ones raise the frequency before rectifying, much the same principle as high frequency florys. Maybe those light fittings aren't as good as you thought.
@hvachacker586
@hvachacker586 3 года назад
The flicker on 50hz is crazy. Almost looks like things operated on PWM inverter. I did notice the cooker down light did not have as much flicker. Kinda like here in the states, CREE and HALO go bonkers and RAB is smooth like a Incandescent.

Think it may have been easier to have put the board higher and replaced the tails. Used those down lights recently, must say very good and the price is excellent to. I have used one of those boards, and for the money they are ok, I just wonder if they are going to stick around, because at the price they are I wonder how they can make any real money, but time will tell.

And top tip if you measure the width of the breakers you can alter the brother printer for the exact size in the advanced settings. once you do it a few times you will find it super easy and they will fit perfect everytime. =) If you need a pointer on how to do it i'll email them over to you.

Hi, I been having issues when making patch panel style labels directly on the printer without the app. If I do a block size of 18.1mm the sizing is out after a few blocks, via the app its correct. (the blocks line up with multiples of 18.1mm) I logged this issue with brother which was passed onto their development team and state its "working to spec". (I am waiting for an email confirming what the mean) However the support person said someone else has reported this issue, and stated it worked fine on older firmware (2018ish), which the development team say is not correct. I am running version 1.25, I was wondering if you had an old version you could test with? Thank you for the great content as always 👍 Thanks, Tom

@nw5835
@nw5835 5 лет назад
They were terminated, clearly.
@thomaslewis3935
@thomaslewis3935 5 лет назад
The RCBO itself has a functional neutral fly lead which you land into the neutral bar. This is purely for the RCD function of the RCBO so that it doesnt interfere with other circuits should there be a fault on an individual circuit. 🤘
@tazdevil875
@tazdevil875 5 лет назад
An RCBO acts as a combined MCB/RCD ... You connect your circuit Line and Neutral directly to the RCBO, then there's a Neutral fly lead that connects to the Neutral strip on CU.
